Its a not very unique Dots location. Im not a big fan of eating breakfast anywhere than at home because no. 1, I do a better job, no. 2, its the cheapest meal you can make and no. 3 , I am very impatient. This location , we visited after Zeta but before Ida, was still having a hard time with the breakfast crowd. Took a little longer than I am used to so it made my edgy and unhappy. Grumpy if you will. The food came out as we ordered. Wifey likes her bacon extra crispy, they pulled that off. The eggs were the way I like, it all just took a little too long. There isn't a lot of choices in the area so if you cant cook at home, stop on in. Just don't be starving and expecting fast fast food.

My quest to eat at every Dot's location is now complete. If you're looking for a classic diner with good, reasonably priced, food find yourself any of Dot's five locations. In case you were not aware, I am a ridiculous human being. A while back one of my co-workers suggested we get breakfast for lunch and that Dot's is where we should go. We went, and it was great. That is when we decided we should visit every location and see which is the best. When we first decided to hit every location we made a huge miscalculation. We thought all of the Dot's were in Jefferson Parish. It wasn't until we went online that we saw St. Charles had it's own location in beautiful Luling. I don't get to Luling very often so the trip here was made specifically to eat at Dot's. From the looks of the place, it must have been a different business before becoming a Dot's. It is right next to a hotel on beautiful Hwy 90 and is very easy to get to. Service was among the most friendly of all the locations. They could tell we were new as most of the other customers seemed to be long time regulars. That didn't stop them from treating us great and making sure we left happy. The food here was, like the rest of the locations, very good. I'd go so far as saying it's the best breakfast I've ever had in St. Charles Parish other than crosandwichs with my dad on the way to fishing as a kid. This visit ended my quest to try every Dot's. I'd rank this location as #5 only because it is so far from my normal stomping grounds. But you can bet that the next time I am in Luling, I will be eating here.

From the outside it looked slammed because it's a compact diner, but it was worth stopping. We sat right away and the servers were all friendly and helpful. The food was diner cooking and came out hot and of good portion. Coffee was superb.

Breakfast at Dots Diner in Luling. Our first visit to a dots diner ever and we were very impressed. Don't be put off by this humble joint, as they actually serve up one of the best breakfasts in South Louisiana. The service here was great, they take your order fast and get you coffee as soon as your seated. My spouse enjoyed the Steak breakfast with the steak cooked medium rare and along with eggs sunny side up, hash browns and toast. The steak was cooked properly and the eggs were just right. I was amazed, impressed and delighted with the Creole Queen Breakfest which was Crawfish smothered over two eggs (Sunny Side Up!) with biscuits, hash browns and toast. It's rare nowadays that I find a new breakfast dish, but this was a new discovery for me and it was amazing! A perfect combination of Crawfish, sauce and eggs! I highly recommend Dots Diner in Lulling for their great breakfast selections to start out your day!

Definitely looks like a vintage diner. Booths along one wall, metal tables, checkered theme throughout. The floors were clean, the booth was clean as well. My only ick was the glass doors and windows could use some cleaning throughout on a regular daily basis and it would sparkle like a diamond! A very nice young man gave us menus and promptly got us drinks. We ordered a small onion ring for an appetizer and it did not disappoint. Medium sliced onions, lightly breaded and piping hot. For our meal hubby got a side salad with thousand island, an open face roast beef and gravy sandwich and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. I got the Gene Autry which is a chicken fried steak dinner. Served with mashed potatoes with cream gravy and a side salad. It took a little bit for the food to come out, but that's because they cook to order. Everything was piping hot. Large portions, we both had leftovers to bring home. Known for their hand scooped and soft serve ice cream and desserts. For our dessert we ordered a Hershey's chocolate ice cream cone. Hand scooped, delicious! Price wise, it cost us $50 including 20% tip. I did read some negative reviews but did not find any of these things on our visit. Will definitely come back!

Used to have a host in tuxedo, which was hysterical in a place that looks like the old fashion soda counters in the 5 and Dime! But it's like a step back in time. You have to be patient because they have a system on taking your order to make sure the cook is ready. You will probably have to wait in line for about 15 minutes depending on how busy it is the place only sits about 25 people. It's normal diner food. If you're in the area, you should try it. The Camellia grill is something you should experience at least once but we probably wouldn't go back often because the food wasn't spectacular, but it was good, but the wait wasn't worth our experience for us and it's kind of cramped in there. I kept getting elbowed and I was elbowing the person next to me. We did meet some regulars they say they always come in for the pie. I think it's better for lunch, they have breakfasts, and they give large portions. If you're looking for the classic local diner experience, this is it. The prices were really good. The place has classic Diner decor with history of the area and the diner, which was fun to look at. I want to say that I had the hamburger steak and fries with gravy and mashed potatoes and green beans, it's definitely comfort food, I was in a happy place so I say if you want to be in a happy place and go back to when you were a kid when grandma or mom cooked you a meal this is what you get here.
