Not impressed. Came here Friday evening for dinner because I had a taste for Korean BBQ and this spot was the closest. Unfortunately, when I lived in IL, I had a really good Korean BBQ spot that I loved not too far from where I lived so it was only fair that I compare my experiences. Called in my order, Beef Bulgogi for my wife and Spicy Pork for myself with an order of pot stickers to spilt. When I picked up my order, the bag felt pretty light to my surprise. Got home, opened up the dinner plates and just as it felt, the portion sizes were incredibly small. Most restaurants of this caliber that I've been to usually give you enough to fill you up that evening and maybe some to have leftover for lunch tomorrow. Not here! I BARELY had enough to fill up on. Taste wise, the Spicy Pork was good. Not the best I've had but it was good enough for a quick dinner. The pot stickers were borderline terrible. They were cold, gummy and almost completely devoid of flavor. I guess next time I'm in the mood for Korean BBQ, I'll have to just go ahead & travel a little further. read more

Amazing food me and my family are regulars. Bulgogi is to die for some of the best food I've ever had. Kimchi is very good and has the right flavor. Service is excellent. If you sit down you'll have your food in about 20 minutes. If you order take out it'll be about 30-40 minutes until pickup. I called one evening and placed an order so large, I later realized it seemed like a catering order. From the pork and kimchi soup, to the chicken japchae bap, to the rice cake soup, to the mondoo soup, to the galbi with rice, this order took out a chunk of the menu. When I went with my family to pick it up, I quickly felt guilty--there are only two women running the entire operation, a young woman managing the register and interacting with the people, and the older lady preparing all of the food--from scratch and made to order. This chef might as well have been a magician, because she worked with such deftness and speed at her cookie station (which is in view of anyone in the restaurant and her cooking tastes so very good. The kimchi soup was exceptional and a spicy food-lover's dream! Yet the place is worth going to even for the packaged and jarred Korean food items they sell. Looking forward to my next visit. If you want an authentic Korean experience then come to this place! We walked in and the person behind the counter started talking to us and then yelling at us. It sounded like yelling but did not feel like yelling. Finally, the lady said, "Ask the white girl there". I turned and asked, "Do you work here?" She said "No, but she wants to know that she'll be a few minutes and could you seat yourselves" It was perfect. My buddy and I both ordered the Bento Lunch boxes and were thrilled. I called ahead and placed an order for pick up. I had approximately 10 orders (1 bill, not separate). I had not been there before so I was not sure of all of my options. However, she walked me through it on the phone and everything went OK. However, when I arrived, the food was not ready. I ended up having to wait an additional 20 minutes before the food was ready. It is definitely cooked fresh and only when you order it but not having it ready when I was on a time crunch threw a wrench in my plans. The food itself was good. It was my first time there so I was not sure what to expect. Since my customers had requested that food, they knew it was good and got what they expected. It was my first experience with this specific restaurant that serves Korean food. It turned out that I enjoyed it. They did have problems with the credit card machine and had to try and try and try and try and try to run my American Express card. It finally worked. Bottom line - Good food made to order. Staff is super nice I ordered the Chicken Bulgogi. It comes with chicken with sautéed onions, white rice, and oi muchim. Also tried the Beef Bulgogi. Food was great, has plenty of flavor. Personally, I found the portion size to be plentiful. Remember, other parts of the world are not accustomed to eating a '5 servings worth' plate of food. This is a true hole in the wall, family run business. It has its complete own personality and it has so much to see. I got the spicy pork lunchbox that came with tempura, dumplings, rice and some cucumber kimchi. I got my girlfriend the chicken bimibap which had a sunny side egg and sliced cucumber with rice. It was delicious. I think it's a great meal I love love love Korean food and to see this cafe in this plaza I mean a gem. I'm more than happy to come back and try some more. they make it to order (the older lady is a sweetheart) so maybe try calling ahead and placing your order over the phone for to go? How I've lived here in Conroe for 4 years and not heard of this place is beyond me. The Dosirak lunchbox is a little trip through some incredible flavors, and everything is carefully prepared and packaged. They were out of beef the last time we ate there, so I went with chicken and it's just as amazing. I also enjoy trying the rotating side dishes in each order. Service is quick and polite for such a small cafe. As others have mentioned, they keep a stock of snacks, noodles and sauces if you want to keep the flavors going once you get home. Was charged an additional $2 even though it says "choice of..." for beef. Supposed to have shrimp tempura, but apparently, they were out. Neither would be a problem if they'd at least mention it. Best authentic Korean food without having to drive 40+ minutes out towards Houston. Remember this is a family owned business, run by Korean natives, (so if you have issues understanding the owner, her son can always talk to you).. But either way, both are very nice, and I haven't tried anything here I haven't liked! My favorite is the galbi and cabbage kimchi (which she also sells by itself freshly made when available!!!) They also love and appreciate their regulars. :^) OH! And they have some Korean food ingredients, candies, and ramen, as well as some trinkets (I think I've seen Gundam builds and Korean pokemon cards) for sale. Awesome little cafe tucked in a shopping center. The lady/owner is very nice and extra caring. The price is amazing! It is hard to find amazingly tasting bulgogi dish for $8! My husband had the beef bulgogi and I had the spicy pork bulgogi and both were AMAZING. Marinated to perfection and comes out with just the right amount of rice. The only thing you may be disappointed is that you may only get two kinds of kimchi with those dishes - but who cares? The main entree is the bomb! As a Korean, I definitely recommend this place. A family owned business with very delicious food. I went here with my boyfriend who was stationed in Korea before and he loved it. Found this place on Yelp as little treasure in Conroe, a place not known for Korean. Highly delighted by taste and value of savings. We had spicy pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi and bibimbap, along with pork dumplings. Place gets busy with many takeout and with only two people, expect delays. I feel like shes my non-blood mother and forget I'm at a restaraunt, super friendly! The interior is simple with fresh chives growing on the tables as "decoration" (smart). The music is calming and relaxing. Her english is understandable but very thick accented (not to be mean). The, assumibly, husband cooks everything on a little stove which can been seen in plain view. I ordered the Bulgogi (beef)and pot stickers. It came with a little kimchi and rice. I rounded up to 4 for yelp purposes. This is definitely not a bad counter service place to come for a quick bite to eat. I visited on a Monday at 1pm, and I was the only customer, so that was a good sign since we were in a hurry to get out of town. Three more groups came in right after us, but that didn't slow down our food from coming out. The mother was at the register while the son did the cooking. I ordered the galbi and my colleague ordered the dosirak (lunchbox). My dish was very tasty and filling and comes with a small side of kimchi. I thought the kimchi was just average. About half of my rice was just mush and not edible, other than that, a satisfying meal. My colleague enjoyed his meal quite a bit. Toward the end, the lady owner brought us out 3 kimchi pancakes, which was very nice. They also sell several different types of pre-packaged snacks, ramen and unique Korean items. We ordered Bibim Bap andBeef Bulgogi special which also came with shrimp and couple of sides. Both the dishes were extremely tasty and very reasonably priced(less than $10 if memory serves right). When we were interested In purchasing some imported, prepackaged desserts from Korea(can't remember the name) The owner/chef was very helpful and explained what it was and how it'd taste.
