I have been a diehard fan of Dosan since they opened. But I have to say I was sad when they chose to drop the soup and salad bar and serve plated food instead. But with that being said I have now been there twice and had amazing food. I also love the relaxed atmosphere in the dining room areas. The bar area can be hoppin', But the dining area is more relaxed. As it should be. Tonight for dinner I had a 14 oz rib eye steak, glazed veggies, and risotto. I enjoyed a great glass of wine and a beautiful dessert, pound cake and sorbet, so yummy. My daughter had roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked asparagus. This was a great high end meal. I can't eat there as often. But the menu is spectacular. Honestly, today was my 40th time eating there. The servers are attentive! The owners are present, and come to greet us always. Lizette always make sure my glass is full! One of the chefs, Manita, always makes sure we get what we want! She is the best! I came here for the first time during lunch and was sad to hear they recently got rid of their salad bar. I mourn Sweet Tomatoes regularly because where can you find a good salad bar these days? We were told they discontinued the buffet because they weren't getting enough business to sustain it and had to throw away a lot of food. The inside is beautifully decorated, but it was empty when we arrived at 1pm on a Saturday so it felt a little weird. A few more groups did come in after us though so we weren't completely alone. One party left upon hearing there was no salad bar. There was only one worker acting as host, waiter and busser, which I assume is due to lack of business. It took us an hour to get our entrees due to the added wait time of only one worker taking orders. His handheld machine used to taking orders also stopped working halfway through and he had to write done the rest of the orders. Then he came back and found out none of the digital orders went through and had to retake half of our orders. He told us they hired a new chef from out of town and are putting the finishing touches on a new menu with a grand opening soon. This building has been home to several different restaurants over the years and despite what I think is a good location, I fear it could be cursed. The food was good and I enjoyed my meal. I hope their future plans work out and they are able to stay open. read more

Giving Dosan a 3-stars because the space itself is honestly beautiful. The outside is what first caught our attention, and the inside is just as nice--very clean, stylish, and it definitely looks like it should be a popular spot. But every time we drive by, there's barely anyone there, and after visiting, I understand why. They really need better marketing and more of a clear identity. We didn't even know what kind of food they served until we walked in. It feels like they're trying to be high-end, but the restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis. We later found out it used to be a buffet, and now it seems like they're trying to rebrand without really creating enough buzz around it. They need promotions, events, maybe even live music--something to bring people in. The menu is extremely limited, and there's no kids' menu at all, which was frustrating for a family dinner. They ended up handing us the lunch menu just to compensate. My daughter ordered the Alfredo pasta, and it honestly didn't taste like Alfredo--it mostly tasted like oil. Adding Parmesan helped a little, but it was still disappointing. The bread was decent enough. I ordered the cod with rice and asparagus, and it was okay--probably the best part of the meal--but nothing that made me feel like I'd come back for it. The waiter was kind and doing their best to answer questions, so no complaints there. Overall, it just felt like a restaurant with potential but no real direction. Came back for a 2nd time and brought the husband for Father's Day. He loved the food! The restaurant is large and clean. We sat in the lounge/bar area. The seats are comfy. Everything we ate was delicious. It's different from typical restaurants and the service was great. We were seated right away. We ordered the stuffed bread for the appetizer and they baked it on the spot. The beet salad was so fresh and yummy! It came out warm and so flavorful. The only downside is that the machine to pay and checkout was glitchy and I couldn't tip on it so I had to use cash, which I rarely carry. read more

Came during my hour lunch because I wanted something healthy and found reviews online about their salad bar. Took some time to be greeted but once I paid $15 for the salad and soup bar things went quick! They have lots of options for salads, a wide variety and lots of dressings as well. They had 2 soups at the time and I went with the pozole they had! It was pretty good for a place in clovis like this. The waitress came back and told me all about the happy hour and other things they offer since I didn't have time for the full experience! I'd love to try to meat station and other side they have. I'm not sure if it's because this beautiful establishment has changed hands four times since I've been in Fresno. I don't know why people can't get their traction here. I'm thinking it's because of the lack of restaurant experience because it's a large space and I have tried each establishment. Out of all the experiences that I paid in this establishment, this was the weakest demonstration of food experience. I would give Dosan FIVE STARS for ambience! The open dining area has comfortable booths surrounding the periphery of the room. The ONLY place in FRESNO/CLOVIS area, that plays low volume, instrumental jazz in the background. It's a pleasant and peaceful environment. Truly a unique and peaceful atmosphere. They also have a patio, that could be enjoyable in the evenings. We were here two days after the opening, so one must give them time to get up and running. They had various pickled items on the salad bar (yellow cauliflower, cucumbers, and large radish slices) and a good variety of greens. The potato salad was delicious! The pasta items and wedge potatoes were VERY tasty, however, they were not 'hot' . . . They will have to experiment on tweaking their heating elements, as those items were just lukewarm, as well as my carved turkey. At the carving station, you can ask them to 'assemble' a sandwich for you! My husband came back with a pastrami sandwich that he enjoyed. Dessert consisted of a variety of; cookies, brownies, muffins, and rice crispy bars. It was $25 each for all you can eat, and drinks are separate. Service is friendly. read more

Went on opening day expecting first day hiccups. $25 for the all you can eat buffet and another $9 for one trip to the carving station. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The gentleman at the carving station was very polite and agreeable. Everything at the salad bar was fresh and delicious. Dressings were good. Besides the salad bar, the best items were the house made pickles, mustard, pepperoni pizza, and Italian wedding soup. There were many things that could be improved. Overall, almost everything needed more seasoning, including salt. The meats were a disappointment. The pastrami was juicy and tender, but barely had a hint of pastrami spice. The turkey and beef were dry and mealy. The au jus had a layer of oil on the top. The sauerkraut and grilled onions were kind of flavorless too. The mac and cheese looked amazing, but tasted like nothing. Corn bread was dry and crumbly and biscuits were rock hard. The red sauce for the pasta tasted like tomato paste. The desserts were just ok, nothing special. All in all, $9 for the carving station option would be a great deal if the meats were better, and $25 for just the salad bar is not a great value. I tried this place a few days before thanksgiving, they have a small carving station with small selection of meats, the beef was super dry and stringy, the turkey was delicious, they also had some German sausage that was tasty, the soups were not good IMO, tasted like canned goods, they also have a small salad station, I really liked it and wished they provided an option of salad only because sometimes you don't feel like eating meats, but I guess Fresno has better places for just salads. They also have a pasta and pizza section, all very basic and not appetizing at all. Brought my BF to try it with me for the first time and he agreed that this was a one time thing. read more

Nice American style buffet! Amazing price at $25!I appreciated the carving station but the prime rib had too much of a fat cap. The meat was tender though! I have missed Sweet Tomatoes since Covid killed it. Dosan is the closet thing to Sweet Tomatoes I have found. It's only been open 3 weeks and undoubtedly they will have growing pains but my husband and I and another couple really enjoyed our meal. My salad was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. The carving station was tasty as well and the server was accommodating. Overall the staff was very friendly and attentive and open to suggestions and the meal was as good as Sweet Tomatoes (which I loved). I do recommend giving Dosan a try and a chance. This place just opened and I was very curious about it. They describe it as Sweet Tomatoes meets Silver Dollar Hofbrau. I think it has inspiration from those places but I want to see it have its own identity. There is a salad bar. It was very good. Would like to see a bit more topping options and maybe some more pre-made salad options for those who like them already made. They had corn bread and rolls. They had a hot food section with roasted vegetables, pastas, potatoes, enchiladas, pizza and bread sticks. They also have a meat carving station where you can get different types of meat and pilaf and mashed potatoes. The price is $24.99 per person. Drinks are not included. A little pricey. I think the drink should be included with that price. But I'll go again. They were very attentive. Even though it's buffet style, they were always checking in to make sure we were doing well, clearing plates and offering refills on our drinks. Also, whenever they brought out a fresh pizza, they walked it around to the tables in the room and served you table-side before putting it back at the buffet. I went on Saturday with my wife brother and his wife. I was really excited to have a silver dollar ish resturant. Great ambiance. The building is just huge. The customer service was attentive. Price was high. 25 dollars with no drink but water. 3 dollars to get a soda at a buffet made me feel out of place. The salad bar was lacking, you get a better salad bar at pizza factory. They did offer 2 soups, one was minestrone the other was califlower soup. I didnt try either. Their orange chicken has the same flavor as the kirkland brand i buy. The noodles that they served looked delicous but were disgusting.. Their pizza when fresh was ok. Otherwise it tasted like frozen red baron pizza. I had a warm turkey and pastrami sandwhich (split with my wife) and i was highly disapointed the meat was just rewarmed or over cooked. The dessert we had was a pudfing which i think was supposed to stay cold which it wasnt. Also what i think was supposed to be 3 leche cake. It turned into sluge with a bite. And the brownie looked like cheap store bought but they were worse. They tasted sugarless like a keto cake. I dont imagine ill be going back. The soups (tomato bisque and pozole) were also good, as were the rolls. Daughter got the full meal. The meats were sad. Tri-tip/brisket was dry and tough. Went to try it out for mothers day and as the reviews and there website and menus show a salad bar buffet which was compared to Sweet tomatoes THEY DO NOT HAVE A SALAD BAR BUFFET I was very disappointed when I arrived. To begin with, I hadn't been to Sweet Tomatoes while they were in town so I am unsure how close this establishment is to filling in the ecological niche it left behind, but I will have to say that it is one of the best buffets that I have been to. I went on Tuesday, 11/13 and was happily greeted by the staff. Gabriel was incredibly friendly and inviting. I unfortunately did not get the names of the other staff, but they were on par with their friendliness. The food stations, tables, and overall vibes of the establishment were very clean. My water never ran dry and all interactions were courteous! It was $24.99 for access to the salads as well as carving station. I tried to sample a bit of everything. From the carving station I tried the roast beef, pastrami, brazed beef, and turkey with some mashed potatoes (and turkey gravey) and rice pilaf. The brazed beef and pastrami were good on their own, but would shine greater as a sandwich (which I believe you have the option of making but I did not do so this time). The turkey (slice of breast) was moist and had good flavor as was the roast beef. I had no complaints with the sides and thoroughly enjoyed them. I tried some chicken noodle soup and was not disappointed with the flavoring. I then tried some of the build your own nachos, a slice of olive and cheese pizza, and a piece of chicken. The nachos were great and the cheese sauce appeared to have been made from scratch? The consistency was a little different, but no issues otherwise. The pizza had been sitting a little bit but I did not find it to be dry and thought it had a nice crunch to the crust. The chicken appeared to be a buffalo sauce style, and was moist as well. I then tried a few of the pre-made salads: brocoli, chinese(?), potato, and pasta. I liked all salads but found myself gravitating towards the brocoli salad greatly and would return just for that. I finished the culinary venture with the offered desserts: chocolate chip cookie, vanilla pound cake, brownie (with walnuts), and a donut. All were good, though I would rank the donut below the other desserts. All in all, I enjoyed my visit and the food offered. I liked the meat offerings and if other varieties of proteins were offered would like to see that they may be broken into separate stations for those with allergens and other dietary restrictions (i.e. pork separated from poultry and beef and those separate from sea food). I look forward to seeing how this establishment grows and offers as well as my eventual return! read more

Went to try Dosan with my family. The pros: the salad bar was great with a lot of options. The soup selection is limited but the soup available was good. They have a full bar and craft cocktails which were good. The cons: they have a hot selection of meats and hot sandwiches that was ok but it was hard to get served by the wait staff. The deserts were limited and didn't look very appetizing, we didn't try them. I think fewer options might be a better way to go or only have the buffet available with the soup and salad and have ordering for all other items. read more

The food quality is not worth it! Turkey was extremely dry,roast beef way undercooked, salad bar not fresh. The pastas were all dry and seemed to be sitting there from all day.
