Tuscan Pesto Chicken Sandwich + Cinnamon Apple Bliss
    Jacqueline A.

I recently had the chance to visit Dosan, and I really enjoyed my experience! I actually hadn't heard of this place until recently, so it was interesting learning that it originally opened as more of a buffet-style restaurant before transitioning to its current concept. I personally think the change really fits the space and the aesthetic. It feels a little more elevated while still being approachable for a casual lunch, dinner, date night, or group gathering. I ordered the Tropical Ceviche, the Strawberry Blush cocktail, and the Cinnamon Apple Bliss dessert. The ceviche was a little different from what I'm personally used to--it had a lighter, more refreshing flavor profile instead of the bolder citrus flavors I typically gravitate toward. If that's your style of ceviche, I think you'll really enjoy it. The Strawberry Blush was my favorite drink of the night. It was refreshing, lightly sweet, and not overly strong, which is exactly how I like my cocktails. The Cinnamon Apple Bliss dessert was another favorite. It reminded me of a lighter, flakier apple pie that wasn't overly sweet, and I would absolutely order it again. What stood out most to me was the hospitality. The owner, Junior, and his son were incredibly friendly and made a point to check in throughout the evening. I appreciated that they genuinely wanted feedback and were asking guests what they liked and what they could continue improving. You can tell they're passionate about creating a great experience. The restaurant has plenty of parking since it's in a large shopping center, it's easy to find, and it had a nice relaxed atmosphere when we visited during the afternoon. They also have a private event space, and I think this would be a great place for company events, birthdays, celebrations, or larger gatherings. I could definitely see myself coming back with a bigger group, especially if they continue hosting fun community events. Overall, I had a really enjoyable experience. The food was fresh, the prices felt very reasonable, and the welcoming hospitality made the visit even better. I'm looking forward to coming back for dinner next time!

NEw Express lunch Menu!!!! If you have been to Dosan, go back! If you are unhappy that they changed the offerings, GO BACK! Yesterday, they dropped a New Express Linch Menu! Monday - Friday only! From 11- 2 only! Amazing prices! Delicious handhelds! Bowls, salads, and pasta! You will be delighted! They have the same homey feel, music in the background! Great Friendly service, high end appeal, relaxing dining area. Friendly lounge area, and even lunch at the bar if you desire. Today I took two friends to late lunch, we ordered tea and auquas Fresca. So good! Then we saw the new menu! How about a tri tip sandwich with fries; Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken; and I had Elote street corn and steak bowl. (Each was under 15.00). All cooked to perfection! Served hot and delicious I still miss the salad bar and soup, but I now have really good choices for Lunch and dinner. And don't forget the dessert offerings! So spectacular Please go back and give Dosan another try you won't be sorry! Happy eating in Clovis!

They had a buffet here which was really good. Last time I had their tri tip sandwich with french fries, and ketchup. I thought it was really good. Their design of the restaurant is nice. It is cozy, full of light. It is easy to chill and relax in here. The meat tastes nice and cheesy. Bread is soft. I wish they'd bring the buffet back, though. Maybe one day.

I came here for the first time during lunch and was sad to hear they recently got rid of their salad bar. I mourn Sweet Tomatoes regularly because where can you find a good salad bar these days? We were told they discontinued the buffet because they weren't getting enough business to sustain it and had to throw away a lot of food. The inside is beautifully decorated, but it was empty when we arrived at 1pm on a Saturday so it felt a little weird. A few more groups did come in after us though so we weren't completely alone. One party left upon hearing there was no salad bar. There was only one worker acting as host, waiter and busser, which I assume is due to lack of business. It took us an hour to get our entrees due to the added wait time of only one worker taking orders. His handheld machine used to taking orders also stopped working halfway through and he had to write done the rest of the orders. Then he came back and found out none of the digital orders went through and had to retake half of our orders. He told us they hired a new chef from out of town and are putting the finishing touches on a new menu with a grand opening soon. This building has been home to several different restaurants over the years and despite what I think is a good location, I fear it could be cursed. The food was good and I enjoyed my meal. I hope their future plans work out and they are able to stay open.

Giving Dosan a 3-stars because the space itself is honestly beautiful. The outside is what first caught our attention, and the inside is just as nice--very clean, stylish, and it definitely looks like it should be a popular spot. But every time we drive by, there's barely anyone there, and after visiting, I understand why. They really need better marketing and more of a clear identity. We didn't even know what kind of food they served until we walked in. It feels like they're trying to be high-end, but the restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis. We later found out it used to be a buffet, and now it seems like they're trying to rebrand without really creating enough buzz around it. They need promotions, events, maybe even live music--something to bring people in. The menu is extremely limited, and there's no kids' menu at all, which was frustrating for a family dinner. They ended up handing us the lunch menu just to compensate. My daughter ordered the Alfredo pasta, and it honestly didn't taste like Alfredo--it mostly tasted like oil. Adding Parmesan helped a little, but it was still disappointing. The bread was decent enough. I ordered the cod with rice and asparagus, and it was okay--probably the best part of the meal--but nothing that made me feel like I'd come back for it. The waiter was kind and doing their best to answer questions, so no complaints there. Overall, it just felt like a restaurant with potential but no real direction. Nice atmosphere, decent service, but the food and overall experience didn't match the high-end vibe they seem to be aiming for. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

Pastrami in a hoagie roll. Looks microscopic between the buns.

***Warning***I really wanted to support a local business. They had sent out free entrees when you signed up thru their social media page. We even called to verify if this free entree was real and if there was stipulations. They said none, "come on in". We got there and to our shock, it's buy one get one free entrees. So we're forced to make a purchase! Fine. They were out of a lot of things. So when they first opened they had this immaculate salad bar, that's gone. We got a mediocre burger and a pastrami sandwich which was supposed to be on focaccia bread. We were told they were out of it. So they served the pastrami on a hoagie roll and it made the amount of pastrami microscopic. This experience right out of the gate made me believe they are struggling and will not last long. I don't want any business to end but this practice showed me that they don't even care. Good luck to them. You've been warned. I'll be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.

Came during my hour lunch because I wanted something healthy and found reviews online about their salad bar. Took some time to be greeted but once I paid $15 for the salad and soup bar things went quick! They have lots of options for salads, a wide variety and lots of dressings as well. They had 2 soups at the time and I went with the pozole they had! It was pretty good for a place in clovis like this. The waitress came back and told me all about the happy hour and other things they offer since I didn't have time for the full experience! I'd love to try to meat station and other side they have. I'll definitely be coming back here when I have more time to sit and eat! (Nice vibe inside and a good replacement for sweet Tomatoes)

First off I want to express that this was my first time here at Dosan. Apparently I missed it but they had a different menu just a month ago before I came. They had pizza and all you can eat salad bar, sort of like a buffet setting. Today they had a high end restaurant menu. NO MORE BUFFET. I had the salmon and pesto pasta and it was literally the best salmon I've ever had!! Cooked perfectly, juicy and not dry at all. The pesto sauce had put the Italian into Italian! This chef was born and made for this!! That pasta sauce was not missing a single thing!! I rate that 10 stars! My husband had the ribeye and that was cooked to perfection. Nicely grilled on the outside with the perfect crisp and moist and tender on the inside, seasoning was on point, however the ribeye was very thin and a bit small in size but still was very good. ! Appetizer spicy shrimp was the best thing ever. Flavors were spicy, powerful, very distinct... I'll never forget those flavors... never had it anywhere before, Must Have! The bread stuffed with cream cheese was so addicting, you gotta try that, although it could have used more filling!! Overall this restaurant did a 180 degree turn around on the whole Menu, the vibes, the ambience, and the service. Definitely better than Colton social house who offers similar diverse food in their menu... Dosan just has better flavors and menu. I'm definitely going back. ***Honest Review**

    Patio area.

I would give Dosan FIVE STARS for ambience! The open dining area has comfortable booths surrounding the periphery of the room. The ONLY place in FRESNO/CLOVIS area, that plays low volume, instrumental jazz in the background. It's a pleasant and peaceful environment. Truly a unique and peaceful atmosphere. They also have a patio, that could be enjoyable in the evenings. We were here two days after the opening, so one must give them time to get up and running. They had various pickled items on the salad bar (yellow cauliflower, cucumbers, and large radish slices) and a good variety of greens. The potato salad was delicious! The pasta items and wedge potatoes were VERY tasty, however, they were not 'hot' . . . They will have to experiment on tweaking their heating elements, as those items were just lukewarm, as well as my carved turkey. At the carving station, you can ask them to 'assemble' a sandwich for you! My husband came back with a pastrami sandwich that he enjoyed. Dessert consisted of a variety of; cookies, brownies, muffins, and rice crispy bars. It was $25 each for all you can eat, and drinks are separate. Service is friendly.

Went on opening day expecting first day hiccups. $25 for the all you can eat buffet and another $9 for one trip to the carving station. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The gentleman at the carving station was very polite and agreeable. Everything at the salad bar was fresh and delicious. Dressings were good. Besides the salad bar, the best items were the house made pickles, mustard, pepperoni pizza, and Italian wedding soup. There were many things that could be improved. Overall, almost everything needed more seasoning, including salt. The meats were a disappointment. The pastrami was juicy and tender, but barely had a hint of pastrami spice. The turkey and beef were dry and mealy. The au jus had a layer of oil on the top. The sauerkraut and grilled onions were kind of flavorless too. The mac and cheese looked amazing, but tasted like nothing. Corn bread was dry and crumbly and biscuits were rock hard. The red sauce for the pasta tasted like tomato paste. The desserts were just ok, nothing special. All in all, $9 for the carving station option would be a great deal if the meats were better, and $25 for just the salad bar is not a great value. We may go back again, but not for at least a few months.

    Poppyseed

Whenever I have a craving for pasta, this is where I like to go. I also tried the poppyseed pound cake with lemon for the first time. It was fresh hot and served with a raspberry sorbet. Definitely coming back.

Discounted me for an appetizer instead of an entree I had a coupon for! Service was slow. Food was mediocre, but you could get way better for the price. Don't waste your money here.

We had tried to make reservations earlier in the day, but it showed they were already full. The hostesses opened the doors right on time and were quick and welcoming with the line of about 6-8 parties that had already formed. When they let us know there would be a short wait for a table that could accommodate our party, we opted to sit at the bar instead. The bartender (male, curly hair) was extremely friendly and made us delicious mocktails. They had watermelon and mint and it was fantastic and definitely worth trying if you want something light and refreshing! I ordered the Salumi sandwich, which is genuinely my favorite sandwich of all time. I order it every time I visit, and as always, it did not disappoint! The bread seriously couldn't be better, and all of the ingredients taste incredibly fresh. My coworker ordered the Alfredo pasta and said she loved it as well. It was definitely lively and quite loud inside, but sitting at the bar didn't feel overwhelming at all. Everything was fast, extremely friendly and professional, and most importantly, delicious. Annesso continues to be one of my favorite lunch spots. Highly recommend for lunch.

We waited 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged our table. He admitted the wait was "ridiculous" and blamed it on the restaurant being busy, but that doesn't excuse ignoring guests for that long. We ordered the Mafaldine pasta, the Sprouting Cauliflower appetizer to share, a Coke, and a cocktail. The Sprouting Cauliflower appetizer was terrible--bland, unappetizing, and not worth ordering. The pasta was good, but it wasn't enough to make up for the abysmal service. Our Coke didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later, we were never given plates for the appetizer, and our server never once checked on us to see if we needed anything or how our meal was. After asking for to-go boxes, he disappeared yet again. Eventually, we gave up waiting and walked to the front station ourselves to ask for a bag and our check because it was obvious we had been forgotten. As soon as he saw us heading to the front, he rushed over as though he thought we were trying to leave without paying. He immediately printed the check and stood there waiting for payment. When I told him I wanted to review the bill first, he looked genuinely surprised. After I paid, I explained that we had a very poor experience. His only response was that he "tried his best." If that was truly his best, then Annesso has a serious service problem. We watched him provide attentive service to his other tables while ours was consistently ignored from start to finish. No customer should have to chase down their server for basic service, wait excessive amounts of time for drinks, eat a shared appetizer without plates, or get up and request their own check because they've been abandoned. The food alone is not enough to justify returning. Between the terrible appetizer and the unacceptable service, we will never be back. There are far too many restaurants that appreciate their customers and provide the level of service Annesso clearly does not. We will absolutely be sharing our experience with friends and family and cannot recommend this restaurant.
