Stopped by Dos Santos on a Friday for happy hour and had a blast! The happy hour food menu isn't that special but the vibes, drinks and food was sooo good! I had the basil limade but didn't love it so I switched to the house marg with a tajin rim and it was delicious! We ordered the tuna poke bites (tiny happy hour bites) which were tasty but not filling. I had two beer battered shrimp tacos and they were my favorite! My guest ordered a steak and a beer battered fish taco, and really enjoyed the steak but not the fish (compared to the shrimp especially). I would come back here for happy hour or anytime for good margs and tacos! read more

The tacos were delicious. We had the steak, beer battered shrimp, & pork. We started with the chips & salsa which was a little disappointing because neither salsas they came with had any spice. After searching for a fun patio to host our engagement party at we decided on Dos Santos. I'd personally never eaten here or sat on their patio. Only because we live in a different part of Denver now. Let me tell you...Dos Santos nailed my party of 50 people out on that patio in summertime. Nailed it. The patio space buy out was very reasonable and though we did go over it was only because I chose the Top Shelf Marg as my signature cocktail for the evening:) Here are the highlights of hosting our party there. 1) communication and flexibility. 2) they had multiple waitstaff servicing just us. This is a bigger deal then you'd think. We also had a bartender that was focused primarily on our group. 3) the food was excellent. Not at all compromised by the size of the group. 4) as the busy bride and hostess I can tell you I had to check in very little with them. They had it. That's worth it's weight in Gold. 5) the waitstaff was GOOD. Total pros. Not the young new kid they just hired. These were people that knew how to multitask and celebrate. I just can't say enough positive things about this. 6) the cocktails were gorgeous AND delicious. 7) all the other things I'm forgetting, they really couldn't have impressed me or my guests more. Side note: every one of the people at my party are in the high end service industry. We know good service when we receive it and we are not shy to celebrate it as it's become so terribly rare. Well came here in a Sunday at 240PM. The time is important as they were not too busy and we were seated. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order and an app. Well they have happy hour at 3 pm. Waitress came and told us she would put order in at 3 pm. Well 320 pm we got appetizer gets there but no drinks, we asked but she was confused took another 15 minutes to get our drinks, at this point we decided we were not staying, of course drinks come. We throw them down ask for check and it was literally thrown to us on table. I've come here for lunch and it's been good but then accidentally went for brunch a couple of weeks ago - super overpriced (even for Denver). Ordered huevos rancheros which is really just a plate of sauce tbh. I asked for hot sauce and was charged 1.50 ... at a "Mexican" restaurant, asking for hot sauce is a norm, why the heck would they charge extra and also not mention it. Don't bother getting it, it's not hot. This place totally nickel and dimes you, Someone else mentioned a credit card fee, even if you pay with cash, you have to ASK THEM to remove it. This should be illegal, why would this already be on the bill, it's the cost of owning a business and these prices should include the fee. Save yourself the waste of money, go across the street to Olive and Finch or down two blocks to the coffee shop, or just burn a twenty dollar bill if you need to get food during their brunch hours. read more

Wow, this may be my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Denver. The service is amazing and everyone is super friendly, and the food is packed with flavors. We started with the GUAK (guacamole and pico) and freshly fried chips. The tortilla chips are sprinkled with salt and chili powder and it gives it an extra BAM! Of flavor and heat. (Elotes)The street corn, delivered on transporting you to Mexico City. Again, they did not hold back on the heat, but combined with mayo and cotija cheese it balanced out this dish. The tuna tostada was generous with the ahi grade tuna. My favorite part of this meal with the hibiscus margarita. OMG, just bring me a pitcher of this addicting concoction. We stopped in last night for the first time and was treated to a really delicious ceviche, tuna, tostada, and spicy margarita. Dos santos was legit! Stopped by here while in Denver and am glad we did! Appetizer Guac was great, a little small. The tacos were AMAZING! The service was solid and everyone was very friendly. The place itself was a little small so I could see it getting crowded on a busy weekend, but overall it was comfortable and a cool place to chill. Give it a try and stop by. If you're a big eater plan to spend a decent amount, the tacos are in the $4-7 range each and are "street taco" sized. read more

Taco Tuesday has become a tradition for my family and ever since, we go out of our way even if we're not able to get together due to travel, to go and enjoy a TT meal. With that said, I heard about Dos Santos a few years back, but since I live in South Florida, I bookmarked this place hoping I'd remember when I made it out to Denver. Needless to say that I am glad I remembered. Due to some local restrictions in Denver, there is only outdoor seating, but every reataurant, including Dos Santos, is doing the absolute best to accommodate guests and outdoor seating. We got there and made our way to the back where they turned on a nice fire for our table. It kept us mice and warm during these also cold times. Right on time for happy hour! We got a beer and a shot and a Margarita. I also had a dos Mule which is one of their specials as well. For food we went with the chicken tingas (6×) and a barbacoa taco. Wow it was definitely one of the top taco spots I've been to in a long time. We ended the night with a nice flan dessert before we wondered on our merry way. Glad I got to stop by and am hoping to be back once the pandemic is over. read more

Stopped by Dos Santos today which happens to be the first ever Quarantined Cinco de Mayo. Out on the patio, there was a grill that someone was cooking on, and another guy on his phone seemingly doing a live social media feed. Cool by me. I walked up and asked if they had their full menu today and they didn't. Had to adjust and peek the menu on my phone. Decided on a pork burrito. Nice. Nope, no pork today, so I got the Koreana burrito. It came out quickly and when they called my name it was crazy like we had been friends for years. It was very familiar which is the best way I can describe it. Got home and opened my burrito, and bit into it before I could get a picture. I was so hungry. I bit into it and I was pretty happy. I'm not sure if it was because the burrito was wrapped in foil for a few minutes while I drove home, but the tortilla was a little chewy. It held up well against all the ingredients, which were distributed great. I don't understand however, how they got the meat to go the entire length of the burrito. FREAKING MAGIC! Flavors were all good. I'm excited to try their tacos and drinks. The patio looked like a very cool place to hang out, especially on a day like today. I'll be back here for sure. read more

I had lunch at Dos Santos today. The service was friendly and the food was fine. My check for two small tacos and a house margarita was almost $30.00. And they charged me a credit card processing fee, even though they had no idea how I was going to pay. Denver restaurants have lost their collective minds with the fees and they need to know diners resent the fees and it reflects poorly on the restaurant. We'll dine somewhere else in the neighborhood going forward. read more

Food delicious!! Outside dining was just terrible for us but that's probably because we went on a very cold night and the heater took a while to really warm us up. But that's not the restaurants fault. The Chicken Tinga is a MUST HAVE! They are pretty small but SO JUICY and delicious - we ordered like 5. The chips and salsa were okay, more because of the salsa because the chips were amazing. For drinks, i got a beer that came with a tequila shot which was pretty cheap. Would definitely come here again, as long as we can eat inside or it's summer time. read more

I'm between a 3/4 star here... the restaurant has a really cool vibe and has some unique options but nothing really was making me want to come back for more, especially when there's so many great street taco spots around! My friend and I shared their Tortilla Chips and quac... the quac was solid but you got sooo little of it for $11. Also, it felt as though we got a great size bucket of chips but then after pulling off the first layer of chips, everything below was just crumbs! As for my tacos I tried their mahi taco of the month and the Porky Taco. Both were good but honestly tasted about the same minus the meat. The saving grace for both tacos was the meat since the mahi and pork were both cooked perfectly and stayed nice and juicy! Lastly, our service was very lackluster. They weren't very busy around 1:15 on a Monday so I would have appreciated a little more attention instead of always having to flag our waitress down. read more

Dos Santos will always hold a special place in my heart. I came here with a friend, meeting up with her for the first time since moving to Denver. We found a good parking spot, but I can see all the street/metered parking being busy on a weekday. We were seated immediately, and I fell in love after just one look at the menu. We started off with some cocktails, of course. There were so many delicious options that were different from my usual brunch Bloody Mary. Ultimately I had two drinks--Spicy Margarita & Hibiscus Margarita. Both were amazing!! I can't wait to try other ones. We were pretty buzzed by the time food came, which was perfect. After snacking on the most flavorful chips and salsa, our ahi tuna lettuce wraps and tacos came. We got one beef and one pork taco each. It was plenty of food. So fresh and so good. After eating at so many Mexican restaurants in my lifetime, I felt this was one of my favorites. Solid five-stars for me, and a recommendation whenever friends visit. read more

I would of took pics of my tacos but the second time hey hit the table I devoured them ( sorry ) . I think I just found a great spot for tacos and drinks. Their Hibiscus margarita is just a perfect drink. I usually like my drinks with light ice and they did listen to me when I had that request (which is rare) The second one we had was Paloma (substituted mezcal with tequila) and again just as perfect. They have plenty of veggie options in tacos and interesting one was butternut squash. It was a little greasy but really flavorful. Chicken tinga is the showstopper. Love that they only put salt around half the rim. Chicken tinga chips: 5/5!!! The seasoning on the chips tasted like homemade Doritos (aka amazing), the chicken was veryyy tender, and the sauce was flavorful without being overwhelming! Tacos: 4/5 - we had the mushroom, pork shoulder, chicken chimichurri, beer buttered shrimp, and Korean bbq. Korean bbq and chicken chimichurri were our faves! All had amazing flavor, could have used more crunch like pickled onions or something on the pork shoulder. Overall a delicious meal and great vibes/energy! I will be back! read more

I last described my relationship with Dos Santos as love/eye roll, and I think after some recent experiences, I've definitely moved closer to just the eye roll, and the tipping point is the service. I will say, while their tacos are quite tasty, and the menu a little more diverse than before, the prices are also going up. At a certain point paying a minimum of ~$5.50 for one tiny taco is irritating. That gets more irritating if you have to juggle the toppings on said taco as you reach across a table because they insist on mixing the table's taco orders together because it's hip or something. As are apparently the lukewarm refilled liquor bottles of water, which I was hoping would go away post Covid, since they never seem to be confidently cleaned. All of that said, I'm not one to kick restaurants during these challenging times and I wouldn't be writing this review if not for some pretty insanely bad service during my last visit. I came in on an afternoon and chose the patio; two sets of couples were outside, no one else. I waited for about ~15 minutes before I was greeted with an attitude. At that point I got some of the aforementioned lukewarm water. Other tables around me were sat and received drinks and chips, while I waited yet another 15-20 minutes before the server returned to ask if I "wanted more than water?" Of course. (Why would I be here otherwise?). I placed an order for some food and the new margarita flight. The food arrived another 15-20 minutes later, but the drink was still nowhere in sight, so I raised the issue with the server and sat waiting patiently (because who eats salty food without a drink in 90+ degree weather?). I even commented to the women next to me who were just seated and debating ordering it, that they could see what it looked like when I got mine. But I guess the joke was on me, because it never came. About 5 minutes later those women got the flight they ordered. In fact another 8 were delivered in close succession on the patio where I was seated to multiple groups of different people all of whom arrived after me. It was at this point, some 60 minutes in, that I threw in the towel. So I guess that is to say, if you're comfortable waiting over an hour for a margarita (or never getting one at all), great. If not, go elsewhere. read more

First time at Dos Santos & I was not disappointed. I met a friend here for happy hour & got to enjoy the house marg & Basil limeade for $6 each. There are other drinks on HH, like the mule, which I'm sure are also tasty! We also got guac to share - delicious chips & fresh guac but not a very big serving. ++ we of course got some tacos. I got the O.M.F.G which was super delicious - highly recommend. Overall love the patio, atmosphere & food. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is that it was a bit overpriced for how much food you get. You had me at the chips. Seriously. Mexican food is my go to. All day every day. I eat chips n salsa like they are zero calories... Just keep refilling the basket. Needless to say I have had every greasy, crunchy, salty type of tortilla chips from Seattle to Mexico... And these are my new obsession. I LOVE that they are unlike everyone else's "chips in a basket" after thought. Match that with the assortment of salsas served up... I may just have to move out to Colorado! They both are a great value for the price. We also ordered a few tacos off of their regular menu, and they weren't bad, but weren't amazing. Dos Santos is nestled in a great stretch of restaurants on 17th. It includes indoor and outdoor seating. Depending on when you visit, you might want to make a reservation (if your party is six or more). Animals are not allowed on the patio, but you are able to have them seated on the outside of the area. Although I enjoyed the drinks, and the staff was very attentive, the pricing is a little bit high for what they serve. Also, I'm kind of over places putting a flavor mixture on the chips (it would be nice to have plain tortilla chips without that added spice). I'll visit again, but probably during a Happy Hour the next time. read more

Not gonna lie, these are the second best tacos I've ever eaten (the first being from a food truck stationed steps away from the ocean in Hawaii where I had a foodgasm over fish tacos that will stay in my heart forever ). In addition to juicy, flavorful tacos, they had a wide array of salsas and hot sauces, made in house (of course). Their drink of the day was also memorable, made with hibiscus and refreshing for a nice summer day in the mountains. My partner and I agree, this place blows all the other tacos we've had out of the water, and nothing in Columbus compares with it. These tacos and vibes will remain with me and hopefully help me get through the winter here in the Midwest.
