You know when I read that this restaurant was under investigation from the Health Department, I was surprised, because I have never seen an issue all the times I have been there. But after getting lunch this afternoon, which was the Barbacoa Plate. After almost finishing my meal, I had to stop and remove a long white hair out of the meat I was in the middle of eating, I stopped eating any more of my meal and threw it away. It looks like someone was not wearing appropriate hair net or hear apparel while cooking in the kitchen.. Maybe the Health Department needs to return under cover to obverse how they prepare the meals to prevent this problem. read more

I used to love coming here. I commonly eat the carne ranchera and enjoy it. But it's become nearly impossible to order from this restaurant. The lobby is full and has a long wait and they decline your phone calls. Mobile ordering is suspended. If you want to eat here you have to walk in and order then stand and wait for your food. Added to the lack of parking, it's just not worth the stress anymore. read more

I ate lunch yesterday at the Georgetown location. A roach was running on my table. I used the menu to hit it because the roach was coming right towards me. My daughter thinks it came from when I unwrapped the white napkin which had silverware inside. Once we ordered and my food arrived; I lost my appetite. I told the waitress and she just took the roach away. I feel this place is not clean and would recommend the health department review this restaurant. Plus the service was terrible. Tried this place out today, recently moved into Georgetown and was looking for a go to Mexican restaurant. Wife found it on Yelp and we were nearby. Food quality was excellent had the carnitas wife had a mixed enchilada plate. Food arrived hot and delicious. Service was excellent would ask for Alfredo, he was very courteous and attentive. Very slow response to wait list - 30 mins, multiple parties after us were seated ahead of us. Sat at table for another 20+ mins before even getting chips and salsa and the another 10 mins before a waitress even stop by for a drink order and provided utensils and menus. Now another 15-20 mins before the food and no replenishment on beverages or chips/salsa. Completely understaffed and not the experience we are a custom to at this establishment. read more

My husband and I had heard a lot of good things about Dos Salsas, so we decided to finally check it out after some Christmas shopping. We ordered a large queso, the stuffed chicken, and tortilla soup. I would ordered all of it again except the queso. It was more like a thin, tasteless cheese dip. We were sat pretty quickly, but service was pretty poor after that point. We had to wait quite a while for our drinks to be refilled and to get our drink, food order, or check. Another one bites the dust. Here before 5 , bartender and server have attitudes. Bartender takes our drink order and an appetizer but only brings one drink. Server brings appetizer and we ask her for the other drink. We had to tell her 3 different times we wanted the margarita on the rocks not frozen. Bartender has since left the bar and tended to 2 other tables behind us. We try to order food from our server again another struggle. ( language barrier) We get our ticket and have been overcharged. We had a great experience at Dos Salsas during our visit in the Georgetown area! Our Lyft driver actually suggested this place so we gave it a try. It was an awesome day out so we sat outside on their little patio. I love outdoor seating and the place was well kept and spacious. It is even pet friendly! A chocolate lab puppy joined the patio halfway through our visit and suddenly no one cared about what they were eating anymore :D We started with the Especial Rita for $11 each. I thought these were worth the price considering each margarita was 18 oz and they definitely did not skimp out on the tequila. It was in the high 90's and we went out the night before so these were EXTRA refreshing. We were jamming out to their the chips and salsa that they brought us with our drinks to start because both of their salsas tasted homemade and had just the right spice. To eat, I had to get some tacos, of course so I asked our server what he recommended. He said I could mix and match the tacos so I got the Smoked Brisket tacos and Barbacoa tacos (as he suggested.) They were so good. The meat was packed with flavor and they were huge. I almost ordered three but I'm glad I just got two because by the time I was done with their chips and salsa and the sides of beans and rice, I was stuffed. I liked the Barbacoa ones more because they had a stronger seasoning and the sliced jalapeños on top were the best compliment. We wanted to try their dessert but were so stuffed so we got another margarita... OOPSIES. All in all, great place to find some quality tex-mex at affordable prices. read more

You're going here for the food, not the ambience or service. Both sauces are really good, great name for the restaurant. Holds true. We got enchiladas, tacos, and something with suiza sauce. The food was pretty solid. Very good, hearty Tex-Mex. Good portions. The guacamole was a little onion and tomato heavy for me, but still good. Overall, the food is good Tex-Mex. The service however is what gives this place three stars. We went around 5PM. Our waitress was clearly in a bad mood and straight up told us she was annoyed we were waiting on two people. We did order apps and drinks while we waited, but she didn't give us the time of day after that. She would sigh when we asked for more drinks or refills. She just had an awful attitude and made the dining out experience bad. Go for the food. Go somewhere else for ambiance and service. I came here with a group of friends after a morning tennis tournament, so needless to say we were hot and hungry haha. First thing you need to know is parking is very limited and it's quite popular on a Sunday afternoon, so keep that in mind. We got lucky, but I was slightly stressed when I realized what little parking there was. I always say, I heavily judge a place by their free chips and salsa and Dos Salsas did not disappoint. The red salsa really hit the spot! For lunch, I ordered the Spinach and Mushroom Quesadilla because that's my favorite go-to comfort food. It was a little on the greasy side, but the cheese was on point! It was definitely too big for me to finish on my own, so I had the rest for dinner and it was still just as delicious! I ended up hear after I took a wrong turn and I so glad for that. Seated immediately nice friendly waitress, I ordered 3 tacos and at the end of it I added 'but no tortillas " she didn't bat an eye and when my food came it was presented on the plate it looked so appetizing that I didn't miss those yummy tortillas. We usually love this place but tonight we had the worst service ever. Food was good, but the chips came out freezing cold and stale. Our server disappeared once our food was dropped off. She seemed annoyed we were even there, and nobody wanted to take us even though we were there an hour and a half before closing time. Other servers stood and watched while we got our own boxes since our server never brought us any, and didn't ask if we needed anything else (we wanted another round!!). It was our first experience trying Dos Salsas last night (Sunday) and will most likely be our last. My family of five arrived at approximately 8pm and the restaurant was not busy. Service was absolutely horrible. We ended up waiting 30 minutes for our food. Then the waiter put two plates on our table, and just as we were getting ready to dig in, ended up telling us they were not our plates and taking them away to the table next to us. I was wishing I would have swiped a shrimp (probably could have) because it was another 10 minutes before our dinner was served. We were told the chef had taken a break. The food was great, not gonna downplay that. I got the carnitas burrito and it was a huge portion and very good. At the point where we were nearly finished eating (a little after 9) some of the waiters (about 3 or 4) had congregated at a table right beside us and were rolling silverware. They all pulled their masks off (with the exception of our waiter) and most were on their phones as well. They were loud and silverware was falling everywhere causing a ruckus (so much that one apologized to us). Some other waiters were already cleaning up in the room when were finishing up. I could barely get through the hallway to get to the restroom because a dirty rug was draped over a chair right in my way. Once in the bathroom, there was one functioning toilet with no toilet paper. Luckily i noticed before - and plowed my way through the taped sign on the nonfunctioning one to get what was left in there. Meanwhile my fiancé was waiting with the very sleepy kids (another 5 mins) for the waiter to take his credit card. Uggg just an awful experience. read more

I even give them kudos for the dinner mints. Only negative is they don't answer their phone when you call; takes at least 2 mins wait time and place inside is small. Great Lunch place in Georgetown, while busy the food is fresh and consistent with recipes that speak care and hand made. The building is an old gas station with an add on, so layout is a bit funky, I like the older side as it feels small and personal. The large side is great for friends and family. Tv access in the various rooms - keep up with your sports! Parking is a bit tuff, I find parking down the street (North) other side of the church is a nice walk in and out. read more

I loved their salsa (YUM) and the queso with meat was amazing. I only let myself have two bites out of the shared bowl because, wow. It was tasty. When I said portions are huge, I meant it. Plates take up half the table (this is not an exaggeration) so think carefully about how you order appetizers and mains. Sharing is the way to go.
