One of my favorite things about Mexican restaurants is that they offer sweet tea, even though they have sweet tea on the menu they don't offer it. Minus one star! The place was absolutely packed but the service was stellar. My wife had a quesadilla which she loved and my mixture of steak, chicken, shrimp, and cheese on rice was hit and miss. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the steak was tough, but the chicken was good. Overall, it's very middle of the road. Enjoy!

Flavorful salsa for the complementary chips.

This smallish but delightful restaurant in north O'Fallon met all our requirements for a nice evening dining out. The family-owned spot has a large menu of steak, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes. The chimichanga was large with meaty beef tip chunks. A problem for some places, refried beans and rice weren't overcooked from sitting long periods. A dinner combo of beef taco, burrito, and enchilada was a hearty meal. My only complaint was the items used the same ground beef mixture. Though the beef was well seasoned and was tasty a meat variety would have been preferred. Service was attentive. Saturday nights, we learned, are family nights with balloon artists. Though we didn't wait to be seated at prime dinner time, Dos Primos was full.

Established restaurant in O'Fallon so we thoroughly give it a try, the interior is very clean and the service was good. That have daily lunch specials and happy hour specials, kid and family friendly so something for everyone. Chips were ok and salsa was nothing special for dinner I had the El Toreador which was grilled steak, chicken, shrimp and bacon on a bed of rice with a cheese sauce, it was food but I thought it could use a bit more sauce on it. Husband had the seafood and chicken fajitas with rice and beans, he loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Was pleasantly surprised by Dos Primos. Compared to other local Mexican restaurants that shall not be named, this was a step above in flavor. They have an incredibly extensive menu and massive portions. It's tucked away in North O'Fallon but worth the drive.

We had excellent experience here with our kids. Service is excellent. We loved their sea food options and everything we had there tasted so good. Great ambience and family friendly place. We are sure we will come back here again.

Would not recommend. My main course orders were incorrect s and I called the restaurant to discuss and see what we could do to fix it as my wife ordered a vegetarian bean burrito and received ground beef burrito. They would do nothing about it and stated I ordered wrong when I have clear receipt of what I ordered online so not way for miscommunication either. Poor service and to top it off the chips are stale!

Stale chips, bland food. Salsa was okay though and the service was decent. Overall, not a place I'd go back to.

When you enter there's a seating area of booths to the left. If you continue further there's another little space of seats, a full L shaped bar, and more seating in the bar area as well as an outside patio with seating. I definitely recommend coming before dinner time. If you come for dinner be prepared to wait. If you want to eat here with a large party I recommend asking about a reservation otherwise I'd advise against due to how busy it gets! I'm not a fav of the chips & salsa as the salsa isn't flavorful or chunky enough to me. For those like myself who prefer spice & more flavor I recommend getting their salsa picante & mixing the 2, so much better! Their margaritas are good, I prefer the blood orange vest but they have a large selection of marg flavors and a full bar. For food I've had the nachos, tamales, enchiladas (I recommend the enchiladas de pollo verdes), tacos, and chimichanga. I got my parents hooked on the tamales! I love that they serve them as not a lot of Mexican restaurants do here & I love that they put meat both inside and on top of them. The establishment is always clean, the staff is always friendly & welcoming, and you can tell theirs homemade recipes coming out of the kitchen. I recommend ending your meal with the churros! Overall their price point, staff efficiency, and the consistency with the food makes this the best Mexican restaurant I've had in the area which is why I keep coming back & would bring guests here.

They have a big parking lot and it was still rather busy on this Tuesday evening of my visit. It's a casual atmosphere and there were plenty of open seats when I visited. We decided to sit at the bar and we were immediately greeted and offered chips & salsa and they were ready for our drink order. I chose the fresh squeezed Cadillac margarita. It was very good and refreshing. We were brought chips and salsa that were better than average. My dining companion ordered other kinds of salsa that were quite spicy, and I liked it mixed with the regular salsa. I ordered the cheese tamale plate that came with three large cheese tamales, fluffy rice, a small lettuce and tomato mound, and vegetarian pinto beans that were quite tasty. The highlight of this visit was the staff. Five stars! They know how to treat customers well.

Parking in this area can be a little tight, but we managed to find a spot without too much trouble. Once inside, we were surprised by how spacious the restaurant is. Even with the dinner crowd, we were seated right away. The atmosphere was lively, especially with the USA vs. Paraguay World Cup match playing on every TV. It created the perfect backdrop for a post‑game meal. I decided to try something new from their menu: the Aguachile Steak. It was outstanding. The steak is prepared in a vinegar-based style similar to escabeche, giving it a bright, tangy flavor that really stands out. My wife and sons enjoyed their meals just as much, and everyone left happy and full. The service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, fast, and attentive. Between the great food, energetic ambiance, and top-notch service, this visit was a win all around. We'll definitely be coming back.

So, as you might expect, the parking lots are generally pretty full and the restaurant is busy. But, we are always greeted, seated and served with a smile. This time on a Sunday early evening, they also had a mariachi band going through the dining area, which made it extra festive. The strawberry daiquiri was one of the best we have had and the Modelo draft was cold and refreshing. The complimentary chips are crispy and the salsa is fresh and flavorful. The food was delivered hot and delicious. We all enjoyed our meals: chicken nachos, steak fajitas, steak burrito and birria tacos.
