Had the opportunity to visit Dos Primos Mexican restaurant in O'Fallon Missouri. Does Primos is one of the last restaurants in O'Fallon that I've had the opportunity to try and was a pleasant experience. Located just a few minutes from the heart of O'Fallon Missouri, Dos Primos provides exactly what you expect from a Mexican restaurant? Great food, reasonable prices and a pleasant experience. We visited on a Saturday night during the dinner rush and was able to be seated rather quickly. Dos Primos does have a large dining area that can accommodate large groups as well as intimate seating for anyone with small parties. Upon seating, our server was quickly to take our drink order and provide fresh hot chips and salsa, while reviewed the menu to see what experience we were going to try. Does Primos has the classic traditional fanfare that you would see at most Mexican restaurants however, it was pleasantly noticeable, the authentic decorations that were carefully placed throughout the restaurant that gave it a Pleasant visual experience. We decided to try the enchiladas Verdes, the traditional enchilada dish of four chicken enchiladas, covered with a green salsa. We also tried Chili Colorado which was a marinated steak grilled and then covered in a red spicy salsa that was also served with beans, rice and tortillas. Both meals were perfectly seasoned. served hot and were very good portions For those with a hungry appetite or someone interested in taking home to finish later. Tables were serviced quickly, and the restaurant was very clean. We did not have the opportunity to try the restrooms, but was pleasantly surprised how attentive the staff was addressing any issue, brought it to their attention. Our server checked on us frequently, as well as ensuring drinks, and anything else we needed was handled timely. Dos Primos provided a great experience and look forward to visiting them again. One of my favorite things about Mexican restaurants is that they offer sweet tea, even though they have sweet tea on the menu they don't offer it. Minus one star! The place was absolutely packed but the service was stellar. My wife had a quesadilla which she loved and my mixture of steak, chicken, shrimp, and cheese on rice was hit and miss. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the steak was tough, but the chicken was good. Overall, it's very middle of the road. Enjoy! read more

This is one of my family's favorite restaurants. With that being said, we had one of our worst service experiences last night. We waited for everything, 20 minutes for a drink order, 15 minutes from the time the first meal arrived to the time the last meal arrived, 10 minutes for utensils after all of that, 20 minutes for leftover boxes, that we ended up helping ourselves. This smallish but delightful restaurant in north O'Fallon met all our requirements for a nice evening dining out. The family-owned spot has a large menu of steak, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes. The chimichanga was large with meaty beef tip chunks. A problem for some places, refried beans and rice weren't overcooked from sitting long periods. A dinner combo of beef taco, burrito, and enchilada was a hearty meal. My only complaint was the items used the same ground beef mixture. Though the beef was well seasoned and was tasty a meat variety would have been preferred. Service was attentive. Established restaurant in O'Fallon so we thoroughly give it a try, the interior is very clean and the service was good. That have daily lunch specials and happy hour specials,kid and family friendly so something for everyone. Chips were ok and salsa was nothing special for dinner I had the El Toreador which was grilled steak, chicken, shrimp and bacon on a bed of rice with a cheese sauce, it was food but I thought it could use a bit more sauce on it. The service was decent, but the food was terrible. We got a chicken fajita, a taco salad, and an enchilada meal. All of it was a soggy mess. The tacos salad being the worst. The fajitas were a greasy mess. We had asked for no cheese on the beans, yet there was cheese. They brought out new beans. The taco salad fell apart 2 bites in, from being so soggy. The enchilada just had no flavor. Drenched in water filled cheese that also had no flavor. The drinks were OK. Nothing special, but not bad. I wouldn't come back for food. read more

Best Mexican food in O'Fallon. I love it so much I go there when ever I have the Chance. The place in always clean and nice looking. All of the employees are super kind and amazing at their jobs. The food always comes out pretty quick are the prices are more than reasonable. The owner Mario is also one of the funniest and kindest people you will meet. Whenever we are deciding on where to go out to eat we normally end up here. I wish I could get the recipes though to create the food at home, so Mario if you're willing i'm all ears. My main course orders were incorrect s and I called the restaurant to discuss and see what we could do to fix it as my wife ordered a vegetarian bean burrito and received ground beef burrito. They would do nothing about it and stated I ordered wrong when I have clear receipt of what I ordered online so not way for miscommunication either. Great place that my family and friends have been going to for as long as I can remember. The owner and all of the employees are extremely friendly and treat you like family. Huge serving sizes and the food always comes out fast. Probably my favorite restaurant out there simply for the people that run the place. My boyfriend ordered us each a meal for carry out while he was at the restaurant so we would have it hot and fresh when we got home to eat. He got home, we were really excited to try it and everything looked good until he picked up his tacos only for the HARD shell to be so soggy that the shell fell apart and everything fell out of the bottom. Underneath the sour cream, lettuce, and cheese on the top of my taco "salad" was a nice sloppy taco soup filled with grease and very bland ground hamburger. I only had a few bites before I could not bring myself to eat anymore. This food is so gross that after the few bites I ate I felt physically ill. My boyfriend called to have his order corrected and they re-made his tacos with the meat on the side so he could put them together when we got home and instead of taking the fresh tacos home we left them there along with the previous order of tacos and my taco salad for a full refund. The employee taking care of us seemed nice enough but kept coming up with bad excuses as to why the quality of the food was so poor stating that "Some people complain because there isn't enough juices in the taco salad" or "I can't do anything about it, it's just how we make taco salads here" laughing as if it were funny. I wouldn't let my dog eat this. I wouldn't even recommend this place for drunk food. I would rather have explosive diarrhea from eating an entire crave case from White Castle than to eat this again. All in all, The food sucks, it's extremely soggy, bland, chips are stale and the salsa is mediocre at best. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's pretty sad that Taco Bell is better than this. read more

Let me tell about this place. It is the hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. Not only is the food amazing, I highly recommend the fajita nacho my wife always gets the quesadilla Mexicana, but the service and staff is what really makes me keep coming back. When I walk in the door Mario is the first to say hello and he remembers my name, talks and plays around with my kids. Mario is always walking around and engaging with the customers and after you meet him you'll agree he's just a cool dude. His staff remembers my family so much that I don't have to ask for some things they bring the guacamole with the chips and salsa cause they know my wife is going to order it anyway. Although the food is very good compared to many Mexican Restaurants in the St Louis area, the service during the lunch period leaves much to be desired! I'm guessing they are understaffed since only one waiter was handling the restaurant. When I'm craving Mexican food it's generally because I'm looking for some sort of steak burrito or steak quesadilla to be smothered in cheese sauce. The burrito fajita I ordered was extremely flavorful, but they could've been a little more generous with the cheese sauce. We tried to cal and let them know 24+ hours in advance that we had a party of 10 coming. They reassured us that it would be fine, they would have plenty of room and not be busy. We called again 20 minutes before arriving to remind them and let them know we were coming. We arrived and no one was ready for us nor did the hostess know we were coming after 2 calls ahead of time. We then had to move our own tables together, search for menus ourselves and then sat. After 15-20 minutes of waiting, not 1 server had come out or helped any tables, including ours.
