Was out for a Saturday drive and found Pulque Mexican restaurant outside of Wright city, MO. Was not expecting to find a restaurant heading west on the interstate, but so glad we stopped. Just a few minutes away from Wentzville, Pulque is a solid spot for authentic Mexican food. We were seated with no problem and the red was quite full from the lunch rush. Our server was quick to bring water and salsa and chips. Chips were homemade and the salsa was delicious with a little kick to it. When reviewing the menu Pulque has plenty of authentic Mexican dishes to try as well as the traditional item you'd expect. We were in the mood for some spicy and ordered the pollo Guadalajara and Albers Michoacan, chicken dishes with different sauces. Meals came with fresh beans and rice and very good. I'm more the corn tortilla versus flour and was able to make an adjustment to enjoy my meal. Pulque does have a full bar with TVs for those looking to enjoy sports with their food, as well as plenty of seating for large groups. They do have a pretty good child's menu for this with kids. Prices were reasonable and service was great. Pulque provided a great experience and look forward to trying something new on their menu. read more

Pulque is a nice addition in Warren County! We visited on a Monday for lunch & had a great experience. They have outdoor seating, which is hard to find around here, so that was a huge plus right off the bat. I ordered their Margarita (not the Real Margarita that they are known for) but was refreshing, & their Hibiscus Tea--excellent choices even mixed together, ha. I had the chicken chimichanga, and it was delicious--chicken had a nice flavor that separates them from other Mexican restaurants. My partner had a steak dish served with wraps (I can't remember the exact name), but he enjoyed it as well. The service was friendly and efficient, and overall, it was a nice experience for lunch. Rebranded from Ruiz Castillo. The inside is refreshed and the menu is similar. The chicken wings are so so. They were overcooked and hard to eat. The meat and connective tissue pulled off the bone as one, making for difficult chewing. I was had I was alone as u spent as much time trying to get the unwanted part out of my mouth as I did eating. The flavor was slightly sweet and I did enjoy that quite a bit. I'm looking forward to many more lunches here, hoping that they get better as they get into a groove read more

Chips & Salsa great-food came very quick ( slow down) The front entrance was not clean-trash can outside heaping over-front door looks dirty - needs fresh paint! Visited Pulque with friends on a Friday evening. Service was great! We can be high energy and the server and manager did a great job with just the right amount of attention. I also enjoyed the cold beer and tasty food. Felt the pricing was also fair. I do think the restaurant does not appear very clean. The floor was sticky and gross and I did not have a good place to set my purse so I held it through the meal. If I was not meeting friends there I may not have stayed because of first impression but I'm glad I did. Worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

if I could give zero stars I would. I was excited when this establishment first came thinking it was better than the last . I order from here once a week since it has opened . tonight my mother and son came to pick up an order. first they have always double knotted the bag since I have ordered from here. the last 2 times it has been wrong I called the last time no problem . this time I spoke ti supposedly the owner and his daughter bc my 13 yr old son came in this time. they up charged the order from what they told him on the phone and were highly rude. then when I called they said you guys should check the order before you leave it's our policy there is a sign . I said I don't know your policies I pick up my order and leave and you have always double knotted it never once asked me to check it . the owner said that's not our problem. like wow I have spent so much money here then his daughter was rude to a little boy for no reason he said well you should've had enough money on your card. I said that was my sons card I sent him money bc I couldn't be there my mother drove him snd she didn't come in bc she was sick. he laughed the whole time. yall I know this is one of the few restaurants in wright city but avoid this place. he was arrogant and rude and blamed the customer for not making sure they cooked food right and then called me trash!!!!! The food is authentic, delicious, good-sized portions and priced reasonably. On the several times there, I've had two servers, Nicole and Roberto, both excellent, attentive and anticipated our needs without having to ask. All the staff is friendly; everyone greets you with a smile. The restaurant and ladies' room were clean and attractive. Temperature in the restaurant was perfect and during nice weather the outside patio is clean and comfortable. It is a shame people let their children run around the restaurant like it's a playground and no one from the staff will say anything about how disruptive the behavior is to other people. Super excited for this place to open. Sadly it did not deliver a great experience. Workers were moving as fast as possible but food was slow and one plate hot the other barely warm. The $13.00 Pulque tasted excellent but pretty sure there was no booze in that one. Food portion overall was as good as they all are being a mexican restaurant. Salsa fair but Chimis has that beat by a mile. Lastly, they charge a fee using my debit card. No mentioning of it so had to ask why my $60.00 bill turned to $62.00 on the pay portion. Ordered $80 worth of food to go. Got home and every order was wrong and/or missing half the stuff that should be included. After a long day and just wanting to eat the food we ordered, we had to drive back up to town to tell them of the mistake. I was very polite when I explained what we were missing. Not many of the workers could communicate with me and understand what the problem was. The 4th person to try and help was a teenage girl who was very rude and basically said that once you leave, they don't care about you. Then she pointed to a piece of paper printed from a computer saying once you leave too bad so sad that they don't know how to get your order correct. So if you order to go food, you must go through every bag, open all of your flimsy containers across the counter and look at everything because if anything is missing after you leave, you are just out of luck. Also one small bag of chips, one very small salsa for a large order. read more

I got the Burrito Mexican since I couldn't decide what to get and it has three options in one. All three meats have a different seasoning and sauce. All three were very good. Very rude management. I was put on hold for 30 minutes and passed to 4 people. Then was screamed at and threatened. This was because I ordered queso sauce and they, once again, didn't send it so this time I asked for a refund, only for the queso it was $4.00. Food is just ok and it's over priced. Always something missing when ordering takeout. We would rather drive the extra miles to eat Mexican food somewhere else. read more

The food is just OK, not too much flavor. the wings are decent and spicy. The margaritas are overpriced for what they are. The house Margaritas are too sweet to enjoy them. In order to have a Margarita that is closer to a house style, you have to buy the Cadillacs, which have a cost of $30 per picture. When you go as a group, it makes it unaffordable. Some other places you can get a top shelf picture of margaritas from $20 to $24 and you'll know they have a lot tequila in them. These Cadillacs are basic house Margaritas, just more expensive. The few times we have been there, the service has been good though. I'll drive farther out of my way to a different place that has better margaritas in the area. read more
