We have eaten here a number of times while visiting family and it never disappoints. This restaurant is located right next to soccer fields, a sand volleyball area and a movie theatre/entertainment center. So, as you might expect, the parking lots are generally pretty full and the restaurant is busy. But, we are always greeted, seated and served with a smile. This time on a Sunday early evening, they also had a mariachi band going through the dining area, which made it extra festive. The strawberry daiquiri was one of the best we have had and the Modelo draft was cold and refreshing. The complimentary chips are crispy and the salsa is fresh and flavorful. The food was delivered hot and delicious. We all enjoyed our meals: chicken nachos, steak fajitas, steak burrito and birria tacos. Tomorrow is cinco de mayo, so I would expect this place to be hopping! read more

Pozole in St Charles county, I REPEAT, Pozole in St Louis county! Normally I would have to drive all the way to Cherokee Street in South St Louis to get Pozole but no longer. Located between soccer fields and a movie theater just south of Hwy 40 Casa Tequila is the real deal. Everything I've ever seen come out of the kitchen looks fantastic and the taste? Incredible! We came in for a girls night and the atmosphere was very inviting. It is very loud so I would say this is not recommended for anything as far as the first date or anything of that nature unless you're socially awkward and the background noise might be helpful ha ha ha Our server was very kind, but she couldn't really understand us when we asked for certain things so sometimes we had to have another gentleman come over that was working interpret We got a shrimp cocktail and it was very soupy. Not a lot of shrimp. I had the steak fajitas, but they were smothered and onion, and really only steak and peppers not a whole bunch of consistency besides that We got giant margaritas, which were delicious The building was decorated very cute. Loved our dinner at Casa. We have wanted to go there for a while and it didn't disappoint. When we arrived there was a 20-minute wait; they don't take reservations. The place was hoppin'. The vibe was very party with Christmas decorations and lights strung up. Service was good. They were really busy and everyone was helping everyone else so we had good service. We started with a regular margarita, no flavors. It was huge and delicious. I had the carnitas street tacos and they were delish. I also had a side of black beans, because I love them and they did not disappoint. One person had the Molcajete, which was a steak, chicken and shrimp combo - a huge meal. He had to take some home. Multiple times food has been forgotten and not even an apology from staff till tip and bill time come and no discounted meal for service when a family member is getting food over hour later and other family is eating cold or are already done. Food is ok not great. So unless your j going for drinks and chips salsa I don't recommend. read more

Casa Tequila Cantina & Grill knows how to win hearts (and stomachs). We kicked things off with their chunky guacamole -- fresh chopped avocados, pico de gallo, and cheese, all piled high and served with freshly made puffy tortilla chips that are basically little clouds of crunch. For mains, I went with the mushroom and steak fajitas plus a side of cheese (because life's too short not to add cheese). My wife wasn't feeling steak, so they happily switched hers to chicken and mushroom fajitas -- and wow, both versions were sizzling, flavorful, and worth every bite. Splitting that extra cheese? Best decision of the night. The atmosphere sealed the deal -- fun, vibrant, and yes, there's a glowing neon sign that says "Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty." The location of this restaurant caughte off guard. I thought originally GPS was taking me somewhere else. It's tucked back in a subdivision, there is no street lights so it's very dark and there is limited parking by the front door. A portion of the restaurant sign was burned out, and where the restaurant entrance door was located was not well marked. So the begin to this trip was challenging. Inside the restaurant was definitely decorated well. Great layout with tons of tables and booths. The restaurant was definitely full of patrons for a Wednesday night. I was out in a booth/with table off to the right in a booth and brought chips with salsa promptly. The waitress was kind but did not speak English very well. We had a mug of Margaritas and shrimp appetizer to start. The Acoustics were awful. Very loud. Hard to have a conversation without yelling. Disappointed because I went here to catch up with a friend. Was not a big fan of the shrimp. It didn't really understand the soup aspect of it. I had the steak tacos they did not have Pico de gallo so I ordered extra salsa. First I'll say the cucumber jalapeño margarita was very tasty but overpriced, but most things are these days. The food was average. The ambiance inside was nice but the location is horrible with the soccer field directly behind it. It made parking difficult. I will give a thumbs up to the service. read more

Great experience overall. This place had a fun atmosphere with volleyball setup in front and a vibrant bar inside with fun decorations scattered throughout. I got the tequila trio and it was delicious with shrimp ,chorizo, chicken and rice with beans. The rest of my table got a variety of meals and everyone was pleased. Ended up at Casa Tequila Cantina on a weeknight. I shared some queso and ordered the Chilaquiles with no crema or frijoles for dinner. The Chilaquiles had a slightly spicy red sauce with meat in it and were topped with some shredded chicken and shredded cheese. I thought the chicken was slightly dry. The Chilaquiles were just a touch dry but the flavor was good and I liked the heat of the sauce. If they had more sauce it would have actually been very good. I like the fresh avocado slices on the plate. The chips and salsa were good. The queso was a little cold but had decent flavor. It's a nice modern space south of 40 in Winghaven. Has some nice calavera artwork and a clean feel. There is a sand volleyball court outside that was empty when I got there and full when we left. All in all this was decent and I'd certainly return. read more

We arrived just before dinner rush on a Saturday evening after the holidays. It was still decorated with lights, it was super cute and the lighting was perfect! We were sat immediately. Service was very attentive, drinks came quickly and boy were they good. We've never had tajin rimmed margs. Amazing, you should try it. Food menu was easy to navigate with plenty of options. Tried this place out and it was really good. The service was great. The prices were pretty reasonable for a Mexican restaurant with good portion sizes. Went at a good time just before it got crowded with 4 different big groups. So, they are able to easily accommodate large groups. The only thing is once it is really crowded it can get very loud inside. read more

Went here seeking great Mexican food. The name of the restaurant was a gutsy move, because it had better serve fantastic drinks ... my house margarita on the rocks, no salt, was just meh. I could not taste any tequila and felt nothing. I ran a 5k after eating there, more evidence I just drank a high calorie fruity drink. It is my favorite cocktail and have been at scores of restaurants all over the US and abroad that can make this very simple drink and be able to tatse a hint of tequila. I was on a work trip, nit driving and could have expensed another, but I just had no desire. My cruel two star downgrade is based solely on this. The menu has a pretty big assortment of all the Medican fiod types. I have kind of been on a nachos binge lately after having discovered the best of the best at a restaurant in Minnesota (Lost Bay on Lake Minnetonka that closes for the season soon). So, I got the trash can nachos. A+ for presentation: maybe a large metal bottomless bulk vegetable can fashioned as a trash can. I was surprised that multiple trash can nachos pulled up in my Lose It food tracking app, so it is not a novel creation. Still, the mix of different proteins etc was very good and I would order this again. At some point they opened the walls up to reveal a soccer field and volleyball courts. What an ingenious location for a restauarant: eat and deink while watching your kids play sports. Waiter very attentive. To be fair, everything about this place woukd be a solid four to five Mexican food experience. My position is simply they put themselves out as a tequila place and what should be their hallmark drink failed. It was not a pre-made slushy. I've made many myself - a simple drizzle over the top would have given the illusion of at least some tequila. I probably won't be back ... unless say it is mid-day and I am not drinking. Casa Tequila is located in an area by a lot of soccer fields and volleyball courts. . There is plenty of parking but you may not find a super close spot. The atmosphere feels modern, but due to the open ceilings, it feels very loud in the room. We were told a 25 minute wait but were seated within 10. But then we waited almost 15 minutes for a server to ever greet us. We immediately ordered drinks and an appetizer. About 10 minutes later. We ordered our meal. I believe the server forgot to enter our appetizer as it arrived at almost the exact time as our entrees. Due to this, plus their odd non-traditional version of queso fundido (a plate of vegetables and chorizo with a little bit of melted cheese on top), we did not end up eating it. Our entrees were also mediocre. I had high hopes for this restaurant as several people recommended them. However, I left feeling very disappointed in their poor service and lack of high quality food. Went as a group of 4 on new year's eve at 5:30. No wait for a table and the server appeared right away with chips and salsa and took our drink orders. Salsa is fantastic, as were the carnitas. The sides (rice and beans) were better than the "average" Mexican restaurants that we frequent, as well. Just a very solid can't miss local Mexican joint! Can be crowded but the wait tends to move quick. Never had a mediocre or worse meal. I'm a fan of the shrimp quesadilla, shrimp chimichanga.
