Too bad there isn't a No stars rating as this place earned one. Don't waste your time there's a better option in town. This place used to be the best for Tex Mex but that went away when the owners decided that they didn't need to make surprise visits anymore. The problem is in the kitchen, the wait staff and front end teams are great. The food not so great. They could benefit with cameras that watched the kitchen make the food and televise that to several of the sports TVs. We don't go there for futbol anyway and that would be a better use that would help increase the quality of the food. read more

Probably one of the worst places I've ever eaten. Food came out cold sent it back came back still cold.

We have been stopping at Dos Chiles for the last few years and they never disappoint. You are always offered either mild or spicy salsa, and plenty of tortilla chips of course. However if you feel adventurous ask for the habanero or green salsa, they are only provided upon request. You must order the fresh Mexican Guacamole! Whether you choose the Carne Asada, Steak Ranchero or Parrillada, you will be truly satisfied. I seem to always get something to wash all that down and my go to drinks are the Michelada with Pacifico or Dark Modelo, Margarita on the rocks, or a delicious Mojito. read more

Service is good, and food came out super fast! The restaurant is nice and has plenty of room and nice open atmosphere. They ask you when you are seated if you want spicy or mild salsa. You want the spicy. The mild is basically all tomato. I got the fajita chicken flautas, and the chicken was good but they come covered in queso which makes the crispy flour tortilla soggy fast. I'd recommend you get the queso on the side. The rice and beans are average. Ultimately I'd eat here again, but would order something else. read more

The Bowie location has a special menu, let's just start off by saying If you go you have to check that out first, especially if you have only been to the Bridgeport location. Daily specials can be a bit overwhelming. Usually they have a couple listed on the front desk as you check in but more on the display board by the kitchen. It's all a bit to wrap your mind around. Service always starts with chips and salsa of which they have mild or hot options. Don't let this fool you as each day they are made fresh and some days the mild is kinda spicy as well. I suggest for a first timer always getting one of each and sample before assuming. Portion sizes are pretty large on most items so don't worry they do have to go boxes if you fill up on chips beforehand getting excited about the salsa. In the dozens of times I have eaten here it would be hard to select just one thing to speak highly on as there are numerous options which rank pretty highly in flavor. If you prefer the healthier side they have you covered as well. read more

Love the owners and service is good. I've had almost everything on the menu and it all lacks flavor. The queso blanco is the best, the mild salsa is just tomato paste and bad. Every meat lacks any seasoning or marinade, from fajitas to enchiladas. I hate that. I enjoy the bean and cheese nacho supreme (with no lettuce under my guacamole). Guac is decent, best refried beans I've ever had of any Mexican food restaurant period-no contest. The quesadillas (despite the dry no flavor chicken) needs sautéed veggies. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. Came to Bowie to take care of renewing license without a crowd and decided to grab lunch. The service was top-notch. I believe the waiters name was Nate and I kept thinking to myself what is this guy doing in a small town? He seemed like a waiter you would find in a high-end restaurant in the big city. The food came out very fast and was so on point! The salsa was fresh as if the tomatoes had just been cut. The enchilada was generously filled with juicy shredded chicken. We stop here everytime we are returning home on a trip to Fort Worth. It is well worth the extra 20 minutes off the 287 path. Their salsa is delicious! I actually plan what to eat based on what reheats best because I fill up on the chips and salsa. The sour cream enchiladas and mexican stirfry are my favorites. My husband is a menudo lover and has ordered it everytime on the weekends when they have it. He also enjoyed the gorditas when we have stopped during the week. We brought my brother-in-law with us this trip and he is not usually impressed by restaurant's. He says food is food and was not crazy about the detour and extra time. However, today he admitted he really enjoyed the sour cream enchiladas and charro beans and that it was worth the detour. YES! FINALLY! Found something he was not blaise about. read more

Call it to the attn at check out & since we got one in mushroom they didn't honor the special price plus charged for our drinks. Meh...Not really impressed with this place. The place was fairly busy, which is usually a good indication that the food and service is good, but I'm wondering if it was more because it was a Sunday and Bowie is a small town. The atmosphere is surprisingly not Mexican-style at all. The decor, etc., definitely did not have a Mexican feel. Our server spilled my water on our complimentary tortilla chips, asked if we'd like a new bowl, but never brought them to us. The meals are a little pricey for what you get. Our server forgot about us after we received our orders and we had to wave her down to get drink refills. When we were done eating, we were handed the check and were surprised that the server didn't ask if we'd like dessert. We felt as though we were being hurried out the door. We're rarely up in the Bowie area, but the next time we are I doubt we'd go back to Dos Chiles. We've had much better Mexican food, better service and more reasonable prices elsewhere. read more

What I have always enjoyed most about this restaurant is their chips and salsa. They always have someone bring it to your table quickly and they have a choice of salsa in hot or mild which sets them apart from most other places. The salsa is flavorful, even the mild and it is a nice way to start lunch or dinner if you find yourself in Bowie, TX. They have several fairly priced lunch specials and that is what I tried. I happened to try to bean and beef chimichanga with rice and beans but I would have likely faired just as well with an enchilada also. 3 1/2 stars! My girlfriend and I had dinner here on 05/22/16, while passing through on a short trip. We ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas for one and a small bowl of Menudo. The fajitas were great, with lots of grilled onions and huge shrimp. They come on a sizzling platter and a single order is more than enough for two. I had a strawberry margarita & the chicken flautas, which were both wonderful. The service was amazing, we were seated right away & had our food within 10 minutes of ordering, even though the place was packed, seeing as it was lunch time.
