As I was being seated, for some reason, I glanced up to the ceiling and was horrified to see one AC vent completely crusted with filth. the center vent was hanging precariously with a strip of masking tape that soon after gave way and the vent and casing fell to the floor, just missing a seated patron by inches. The third vent was also secured with masking tape. All of the vents were equally as filthy. I was there in May and noticed this situation, but thought by now it would have been addressed. Unfortunately, not the case. Word to the wise...should you go, don't sit anywhere under the vents. read more

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but it is definitely somewhere you need to stop when you're craving some Mexican food here in Pompano beach. The food was delicious, definitely ask for a side of their salsa if you want an extra kick to your meal. The complimentary chips and salsa are so so good. Love the friendly staff here and the hospitality. Their salsa is AMAZING and we went through about 5 dishes of their salsa with chips. Yum! We both ordered lime margaritas and I got mine frozen which was REALLY good. I'm a light weight, so I was already drunk after drinking about an inch worth of it; this drink is HUGE! All of our food was very fresh tasting and was prepared very quickly. The inside decor is very nice with just the right lighting and accents. They also have a bar with a TV if that's more your thing. My second time visiting this restaurant. The first time I wasn't that impressed. But this time, it was much better. We tried the fajitas which is known for being very good...and it is! The chicken was very flavorful and the vegetables very fresh and crisp. Because I was sick I tried the chicken soup which was amazing! Very nice taste and the vegetables were very fresh and crisp. Usually I always order a margarita. Last time it didn't taste very well but this time our waiter Mario explained that it might be due to the mix. We thought it might be the tequila they used, but he proved that it wasn't. The tequila is quite good. He mixed it differently and it was very good this time. Mind you we drank a whole pitcher which is about two drinks per person! The best part was that we met the owners of the restaurant. A very nice couple who were from Seattle just like me! The outside can be deceiving and I double checked the reviews before going in. And I am GLAD I did. The food is amazing!!! I had the steak fajita and my spouse had the vegetarian fajita. We also got the table side guacamole to go with our fajitas because we both love a good guacamole. The steak was cut in even strips and was so tender it melted in my mouth. My spouse's fajita was loaded with fresh vegetables and not the frozen ones you so often see in a Mexican restaurant. Oh and we got the sopaipilla's...they were to die for. The staff was warm and welcoming and never missed a beat when it came to service. We will definitely save the address and make this our go to place for Mexican food. read more

They do not have a liquor license so margaritas are made with wine. This is a cute restaurant with a friendly staff. We were a large table of 10 people on a Tuesday night. They ran out of salsa and had to make more at 7pm. I think they should have planned ahead more for us since we did call ahead. At least we knew the salsa was fresh. It is a watery salsa with good flavor, but I wish it were a little thicker. It had a good spice level to it. I ordered the white queso to start $4.99. It comes sizzling in a cast iron skillet. It was okay and I wouldn't order it again. I like more jalapeno flavor in my white queso. This was basically plain white American melted cheese. The shredded beef enchilada was great. I like the sweet red sauce they put on top. The refried beans are full of flavor and topped with cheddar cheese. This place is definitely American style Mexican food. The taco shells are from a box and not freshly fried. The tortilla chips are from a bag and not freshly fried flour tortillas. Prices are reasonable and the menu is similar to most Mexican restaurants in town. There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. There is no outdoor seating. I would not go out of my way to come here, but if in the area I would return. read more

Sucker for hot sauces. We got two different types of hot sauce is good if you request for something hot they will bring it out to you. Even the one they bring you with the chips is pretty awesome. I had seen Dos Amigos advertised in several local publications and online. Since I love Mexican I thought I'd give it a go. When I went in at lunch.time there were only two single customers. No one was around to greet customers so I sat on a stool at what I thought was a bar. Finally, a man (the owner?) Came out of the kitchen and grufly asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted to order lunch. He told me to sit at a table and practilly threw a dirty menu at me. I ordered a margarita and I asked him if I could have it served in a glass instead of a very large goblet (because of a tendon issue) he gave me a nasty look waited and said we don't honor coupons at lunch? I was so taken aback at his rudeness that I got up and left. Didn't even try the food although their menu looked good. I ate here today after reading some reviews and I sure wasn't disappointed. It was afternoon and the place wasn't too crowded but had a good amount of tables occupied. The atmosphere is pleasant and the menu is huge! Everything seemed fresh and authentic. Nothing is spicy unless you ask for it, which is a good strategy to please everyone. We shared a #15 (chimmychanga) with ground beef and flautas with shredded beef. Both were huge portions and tasted amazing. $25 for lunch was a little more than I'd like to pay, but it was worth it. I called for a to go order, just a couple tacos. The owner answered and said 5-10 mins. I showed up 15 mins later. Upon arrival they told me their card machine was down, they only wanted cash. I only had $12 only me for the $14 bill. The guy lifts his arms up and says "what can I do". I was willing to walk to my car and get a few more bills so I asked if he made them already. Probably the worst Mexican food I've had, in my life. Not because they're busy or because of COVID. There is just a serious issue with their quality of food. Shrimp tasted defrosted in microwave. Burrito was dry and inedible. Salsa was watery. Steak tasted burnt and had way too much cilantro. Rice & beans tasted old. So disappointed, 2/3 of us couldn't even eat our food. Still received an $80 check and no one asked why our meals were untouched. Will never go back. read more

Went here one afternoon for a quick lunch. Servers were friendly. The table side guacamole was very good. I had a sangria and my boyfriend had a jalapeño margarita. Wonderful experience. The servers were so friendly and kind. The chips and salsa were really tasty with a bit of heat. My Chimichanga was really good. My family really enjoyed their meals also.
