The crab avocado salad was fresh, delicious and a great healthy option. Along with the salad, my husband and I shared the fried calamari. The jam it comes with pairs AMAZING with the calamari, it was so yummy. The salad is on the smaller side, so I would definitely suggest pairing it with a shareable appetizer! I also got the carafe of Prosecco, and that was a great pairing with the salad.

It was pretty good - definitely not your usual fish & chips, and the portion was deceptively decent. The sauce was too light on flavour and portion to really work with the potatoes, which were perfectly crisped Irish golds by the way. The fish was crispy outside and had the hint of cured/salty-smoky on the inside, definitely a lighter smoke on the salmon than you might get in Canada or New York. I washed it down with something else you don't really see in the states, Smithwicks pale ale. (Unlike most Irish pubs, there were mostly lighter beers here, pales and lagers, with Guinness holding down the dark side alone.) Nothing to write home about, but at least I ended the day on a high note.

Pub/Restaurant: Typical Irish pub, with a lovely fireplace, huge selection of beer, wine and lovely food. Can only recommend. I wasn't wild about the whole fried ones. The Yorkshire pudding was pretty dreadful and seemed to be backed hours prior because it was rubbery and chewy. The chicken curry was good, a little sweet, but good amount of curry flavor. Chips and rice were great. The onion rings were good. Not stellar, not bad. Just solidly good! Guinea's was perfect in terms of being served at the right temp and they have half pints, which made me happy! This place was very, very loud. It was distractingly loud, but if you want sports and good beer, you are in the right spot. Lots of families with little ones for dinner. Service was good.

I knew I was going to be very happy from the first taste of the chef's choice appetizer this evening -- sweet onion, potato, and smoked lamb soup. It was amazing -- creamy, smooth, slightly sweet from the onion and just a hint of the smoky meat. From there the meal went from highlight to highlight, with each dish my favorite. From the soy, ginger and sesame tuna tostada to the warm goat cheese with hazelnut and honey, to the beautiful cider glazed pork belly. They have an excellent selection of small plates as well as a 3-course tasting menu (which comes with the chef's choice appetizer mentioned above).

Fish and Chips are served soggy as I presume the oil is not hot enough to ensure a crisp finish whilst having flaky fish or the fish is not being cooked long enough. We have had nothing but trouble with fish and chips with soggy breading to undercooked breading of which numerous complaints have gone un-noticed and they fail to make good on bringing back their quality food under Maracaris. Fish needs to be freshly dipped in batter and not par-baked and then fried again regardless of demand, nobody likes soggy fish and chips. Pizza options have dropped since the change as well. The pizza needs a little more cooking underneath but I believe this happens less when the demand is less as their policy is free in 30 minutes however free doesn't make up for ill-prepared food. Romayos also advertises as a Diner. Having 2 seats which are barstools does not constitute a diner. Diner has a collection of seats so at least 3 couples can share a meal with ample room in a dining area. However clever the marketing scheme to put Diner to give the impression of a sit-down does not live up to its meaning when 2 seats are available. Macaris and Romayos needs to please step up their game to their prior good reputation but until then I would recommend to stay away as you will not be satisfied. Michael
