This place is not that fancy. So if you need to feel like you're in Manhatten, sorry. But they fitted me and my crazy-size hooters and got me out the door in less than 20 minutes while my son hit up the 7-11 next door. I am a size 36K. It's not every shop that will be able to help me! Another bonus, they carry regular brands. I used to frequent a lovely shop in DC, but they decided to carry only ultra-premium brands. Uh, no, I need to wear a bra every day so I don't plan to spend $150 a pop on that shit. So, here it is. Fast, affordable, excellent service, huge range of sizes. Park back behind the 7-11. I've never bothered to get measured and I have Gained a few pounds over the years and had a couple of children. I was in desperate need of underwear for a formal gown for a wedding I was attending at the end of the week. Instead of just forcing myself into my old undergarments, I figured I would finally take the time to find out my true size and maybe get a better fitting item. WOW, Great customer Service ! I explained why I was there. They were sure they could help. A couple of measurements later, I was trying on outfits and Learned my TRUE SIZE .... from a 36D to and Actual 36G didn't even realize sizing went that large . The front window of the store features mannequins wearing garments that could easily have graced a Frederick's of Hollywood catalog. When you enter the store there is a small seating area and my husband immediately sat down on the couch and announced "I'll see you when you're done." Fair enough. I entered the main part of the shop and was created by a pleasant sales lady. I explained that I had lost a lot of weight in the previous year and needed some expert advice on sizing. She led me to a dressing room in the back, took a quick measurement and 20 minutes or so later I was ready to pay for my purchases and retrieve my dear husband. I was a little surprised when I inserted my credit card into the reader that the first screen that came up was a tip screen. I'd never seen that in a store before but my sales person was very nice, helped me find what I was looking for, and didn't make me feel self-conscious in the process, so I was happy to add the tip. My only problem with the whole experience is the parking situation. They have 3 "reserved" spots but on a Saturday morning it seemed people were just parking anywhere and everywhere. There was even a car parked next to the handicapped spot in the white area that would allow someone in a wheel chair to exit their car. There was a tow truck nearby and I just hope he towed the van that was blocking the handicapped access spot. read more

I came in here today with a friend who got a fitting then ended up purchasing the bra. Store I've never shopped here before because the window displays always deterred me, they appeared to be either outdated seduction relics that should be donated to the Museum of Sex in New York or just too gaudy for my taste. Plus, I'm not really into corsets as most of them make me feel like my ribcage is trying to make it to second base with my spine. Anyway, the corsets themselves range from basic black to red light district call girl on holiday with steep prices to match. It looks as though the store hasn't had any changes to it since its inception and the dust along with the outdated display cases show it. Service I guess it depends on who you get. The older woman with a Nu Yawk accent who helped my friend seemed to know her stuff and was amicable, the other salesgirl, (younger, shorter) was a different story. **** Salesgirl (leaning glumly over the counter glancing at a customer looking at a rack): Do you need some help? Customer: No thank you Salesgirl (relieved): Good! **** Um, what? But no, she took it to another level. ***** Salesgirl (speaking to coworker): I can't wait til my shift ends so I can get out of this store. My friend: Busy day huh? Salesgirl (letting out a breath of exasperation): People have been in this store nonstop all day buying things! I've been on my feet and all day! I'm ready to go home. ***** I WANTED to ask her why doesn't she just quit if she's so annoyed by helping customers and agitated by people actually patronizing their store. But, instead I just made my retreat towards the door with my friend. Why would you want someone like THAT working for you? She had an attitude, was visibly annoyed and irritated by the simplest things and seemed to take offense to the basics of retail (customer service, assisting customers, sales). And if you hate your job that much, could you at LEAST bother to put on a fake face and talk this nonsense AWAY from the salesfloor? From the outside, I didn't get much of a good impression of this place, the inside was so-so, but the first salesperson made me begin to change my mind but THIS individual, Ms.-working-is-a-bore, she pushed it over the edge into negative territory. There were several things that make this a place I will never shop at again, despite me having a hard-to-find bra size and actually needing a specialty store. First, the parking situation is impossible. The store shares a small lot with several other offices/stores and Dor-ne only has two or three reserved spaces. All the others are reserved for the other stores with scary "we will tow you and steal your soul" signs. Second, if you don't buy something, they charge you a fitting fee. WTF? I understand that they don't want random people popping in to play in the "corset store" but still... Third, the overly pushy sales clerk who stayed inside the fitting room with me while I tried on bras, and had no issue telling me I was doing it wrong, grabbing my boobs and adjusting the fit for me. NO TOUCHY WITHOUT PERMISSION GRABBY MCGRABBY PANTS. Fourth, I'm not convinced they knew what they were doing because after all the bras and boob grabbing, and even calling in the owner to check the fit, they put me in a bra that didn't fit. I also was never actually measured by the pushy sales clerk, who asked me what size I was looking for and then just started shoving bras in my face. Lady, you were in the VERY SMALL dressing room with me the whole time and you didn't notice that perhaps you shoved me into the wrong size bra? The wrong size bra that I can't return despite it still having the tags attached because of their seven day return policy. EDIT: Today, I went to another lingerie store where I bought the exact same bra that Dor-NE sold me in my correct size, and I discovered that Dor-NE charged me $49 for a bra that has a MSRP of around $35. And I just found their sizing directions on their website which are WRONG and outdated. You are not supposed to add inches to get your band size. That way lies too-large bands, too-small cups, and poorly supported breasts. So now I'm convinced they don't know how to size bras in addition to poor customer service and overcharging their customers. read more

I remember the first bra I ever bought with my mother. That training bra was probably the first and (until recently) only bra bought in a regular store that actually fit me. My mother, bless her a-cup soul, had no idea what to do with her rapidly growing daughter. So I was stuffed into ill-fitting undergarments for years, until my junior year of boarding school roommate said, "You are NOT a B cup!" We went to V.S. and I was "fitted" for a bra. For the next few years, I spent lots of money buying the biggest, ugliest bras that also didn't really fit, that V.S. carried. I was fitted tons of times by black suit wearing ladies, none of whom could really find something that worked for me. A year ago, a coworker recommended DorNe Corset to me, a fellow sufferer. I had no idea what to expect, and, as has been mentioned, the storefront is a little... macabre? The sales lady took me back and immediately asked me to take my top off. I did. She waited. "Well? Bra, too! How else am I going to know what size you are?" A little put off and anxious, but too embarrassed to leave, so I complied. Without touching me, she said, "Hmm. 34 F." and disappeared, leaving me confused and naked in the dressing room. Lady returned a few minutes later and proceeded to PHYSICALLY put me into the first truly appropriate bra I'd ever worn in my adult life. Was it uncomfortable to have a stranger's hands all over me? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Cause you know what? I was doing it wrong. I've been back for a strapless corset (for my wedding dress), a two sports bras, and a (recently) few regular bras over the past year or so. I've always gotten consistently attentive service. Expensive? Yes. But V.S. is just as expensive. Touchy? Yes. Maybe they should explain how they do business to first timers. I was last fitted for a bra years ago and was long overdue for a bra that lifts and supports me as I am extremely busty. I was in and out within 10 minutes and received exceptional service from Wannetta. She measured me, informed me that my current bra pushed my breasts out and made me look bigger, and said I would see the difference. She came back with a bra that lifted and supported me. For us gals who need shapewear, I am glad there is Dor-Ne Corset Shoppe. I wish they were a little better about fitting me as I don't like the way they seem to rush the fitting process. I am one who needs support that isn't offered in the traditional lingerie section of most department stores or at Victoria's Secret so I am willing to make the trip to specialty lingerie shops like Dor-Ne. I think I was spoiled by my first lingerie store that was in West Springfield - Brenda's Bra Boutique. Since she closed, it's been hard to find someone well-trained in fitting me. Specialty lingerie isn't exactly cheap, so I expect to get a perfect fit and be comfortable in what I buy. Finally, parking at the store is difficult so beware. The store does offer custom-fitted shapewear and has quite a variety of sizes. The staff at Dor-Ne just needs to remember that the customer is looking to be fit properly and not rushed out the door. I went to Dor-Ne today to get undergarments to wear with my wedding dress. I worked with Lisa and she was awesome. She measured me and then picked things that she thought would go best with my dress. After trying on a few things, I had the perfect match. I have never had to buy a corset or a long line bra so I was super clueless about everything. I especially liked that Lisa new exactly what I needed and brought it to me and I didn't have to wander around the store without a clue. I did bring my wedding dress with me to make sure that the garments looked good under my dress. So I recommend taking your dress with you. I am glad I did. I love this place!!! When all else fails, I always come here. But from now on I'm making a vow to never buy bras anywhere else. I am well endowed--I wear a 38 H--and in 10 minutes I was in and out with three perfectly fitting bras that have the twins sitting up high, with no bunching. And one is a STRAPLESS. Dor-NE is definitely the place to go for undergarment needs for formal/wedding dresses. I called ahead to make sure it made sense to take my dress with me to the store and they agreed. I don't recall the name of the lady that helped me, but she was great! She found just what I needed for the dress. I thought the undergarment was going to cost more than it did, but the price was reasonable (around $80). On a side note, she also fitted me a bra as well. I figured since I was there, I might as well make another investment. The underwire bra I purchased though ended up digging into my armpit so bad after a week or so, I had to stop wearing it. This place is great! I went in today to get undergarments for my wedding and was in, fit, and out in under 20 minutes. The fit specialist and owner (I think) asked what I needed, then tucked me into a fitting room, measured me, and brought out the perfect strapless longline bra for me. They spent some time figuring out which extra padding would work best for me, and made sure to find out exactly what the gown is like so they know the undergarments will work. When I was dressed and came to the register to pay, everything was already wrapped and bagged. They asked me a few more questions about the wedding and we chatted about it for a few minutes. I paid (and tipped them! Which you can do on the credit card machine) and they asked me to come back with pictures of the gown once it's finished so they can see (custom dress so I didn't have an image.) Overall, they were quick and professional. They paid a lot of attention to my specific needs, as well as showing a friendly interest in my wedding plans in general. There are not enough options for larger cup size and quality most of all has gone down hill. And your insight doesn't matter, to add. The owner is there daily, but does not adhere to comments and suggestions to keep you a paying and loyal customer, and fanned me off as my frustrations did not matter. They are over priced, but I maintained shopping their because of the proper sizing and personal attention from one of the associates. The lady who mends all of the bras and corsets is about the only plus to the store. Girls I recommend going in to get sized for $5 or free at Victoria secret and the order those brassieres online! The friendly owner really takes a hands-on attitude to bra fitting (LITERALLY!), and the knowledgable support staff does on-the-spot alterations to make sure your bra is a perfect fit! (My first purchase there was for a strapless bra to wear with a bridesmaid's strapless gown to a Greek wedding. Conceivably a recipe for disaster with the enormous bust I USED to have, my bosom stayed comfortably in place, despite tons of bouncing!) Literally the relief my back I felt after my recent is worth the trip from LA. Only thing is, they are expensive and on top of that you have to tip which to me is weird. What exactly am I tipping for? For example i spent $140 on a bra and than was required to tip in the sign out. I worked in the service industry so I understand the neeed and the value of tipping but I've never heard of doing that for a bra and it feels awkward to be a lot of money for a bra and than tip- is the employees wages factored into the tip?!! This is an old established business in Silver Spring. Although I was pleased with my purchase, there is a sort of defensive edge to the atmosphere. I was waited on quickly and effectively and had a successful fitting for a bra that I decided to purchase. But while I was waiting in the fitting room, I noticed two items on the mirror. One was an enlarged photocopy of an article from a Heloise column reminding customers how to behave in a store. The other was a decal stating "we accept tips." I have worked in retail before, and never expected tips. This was new to me. I found both notices on the mirror rather off-putting. When I went to pay for my bra, a manager or owner was at the desk. The person who had helped me in the fitting room handled the sale, and the manager barely looked up. When I was handed the credit card receipt to sign, I noticed there was a space for a tip. I decided not to fill it in. I felt a little bad because the salesperson was nice, but I also felt awkward tipping in a shop. When I went home and looked up the bra online, I found that I had paid 33% more for it at Dor Ne than I could have gotten it for at Macy's. Of course, one could argue that I got personalized service at Dor Ne. I don't know, I am not sure I will go back there. read more

I really wish that I had a great experience like everyone else who rated. I came to this shop because it was highly recommended by many people. I came to purchase a strapless bra, and was sold one that did not fit. When I went to do the fitting, they told me to take off my top, so I did. But then they told me to remove my bra, as well. I expressed that I felt awkward about the situation, but they just stared at me. They took a measurement under my arms, above my bust, but did not actually measure my bust or underbust (so why did I have to remove my bra??). When they left to grab a bra, they didn't even put the thin curtain back to give me privacy. I was glad that I was the only one in the store at the time. They fit me in a strapless that was two sizes too large in the band and several sizes too small in the cup. I was uncomfortable. I tried to ask questions about fit, but I was told that everything was fine with the fit (even though the gore did not lie flat and the top cut into me). When I tried to adjust myself, the fitter got annoyed with me and told me I "adjusted too far" and proceeded to put her hands down the bra to adjust me -- without asking me if she could do that. I should have walked out right then and there, but I was intimidated, so I bought the bra. Which I can't return because of their final sale policy on strapless bras. I trusted you all in a vulnerable space, and I should not have. And then I had to tip you all on top of it. UPDATE: I went to get my refund on Friday morning 4/21. I was able to get my full refund (retail + tip), but only after having to argue with Stella and the other staff member. The lack of professionalism I experienced was appalling. I never received an apology in person. Instead, they engaged in victim blaming by saying it was my fault that I had a horrible experience because I never said I was uncomfortable. Uncomfortable is me expressing I feel awkward about being told to remove my bra for a fitting. Uncomfortable is me closing my eyes and turning my head away as you measured me. Uncomfortable is me trying to cover myself up, especially after you leave the curtains open when you go to grab another bra. Traumatized is when you suddenly violate my personal space by adjusting my breasts inside the cup without my permission. So, thanks for that. It is not my fault that your operating methods invade people's personal space without their permission. It is not my fault that you gang up on customers to pressure them to buy things (two people fitting one person is not necessary). You never left me alone to make a decision about the (overpriced) bra. You violated my personal space by placing your hands inside the bra to adjust my breasts without my permission. You need to understand what consent is. Justifying your actions by saying that that is what happens when you get a professional bra fitting is not okay. You need to ask. You do not have free reign over my body just because we are in a certain space. Not all of your customers have the same background. What if you had revictimized a survivor of sexual assault? Not all of your customers will be able to say anything when they are uncomfortable, whether that be during the fitting and subsequent purchase or after the fact. You need to understand the power that you have in that space and respect it. You need to respect your customers and ASK before you touch them. If you're thinking about going to Dor-Ne, don't bother. You're better off fitting yourself using the information over on r/abrathatfits and ordering bras online. You'll get better priced options (seriously, the bra I got from Dor-ne cost be $75, but I could have gotten it for $60 through BraStop), and the internet won't violate your personal space. read more

At the end clarified the final prices on everything and no pressure if there were things I didn't want. I should have come here a while ago. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF YOUR SIZE/PLAN ON TRYING ON 5+ BRAS/EXPECT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE Well, this was one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I have a feeling that if you are 100% sure of the size and brand you want, this place is adequate. However, if you are unsure of your size and frustrated, trying to narrow down what works and what doesn't, or try to be an informed shopper this place is horrible There were many things that went wrong but the worst offender was the amount of distrust I got from the saleswomen about why I was taking notes on how the bras I tried on fit. I was INTERROGATED (I'm not joking) multiple times including once by who I assume was either the manager or the owner (more on her below). Each time I explained politely and calmly that I was just recording this information for my own knowledge and to see if any patterns emerged. I said it was a great recommendation I had seen online (from the subreddit "A Bra That Fits" which I highly recommend to anyone else who is on their bra journey) and was only recording info on what I was trying on so I could save time and money in the future. An Eastern European lady who I assumed was the owner but might have been the owner's wife (who only came in after a saleswoman who had already questioned me/gave me funny looks and then presumably got her) then proceeded to tell me that I was strange and acted like I was stealing trade lingerie secrets or something. She then said that if I liked something they would write down the size for me at the front but that they didn't allow that kind of behavior at this store. Like, SERIOUSLY?! When I was at Nordstroms I was barely given a second glance for pulling out a notebook. Like, I get that I look like a poor black student (I am) but I was going to splurge at this place. The incredible amount of suspicion at something as simple as informing myself left me extremely angry. I was only able to try on 4 or 5 bras before I was absolutely done. I had planned on trying on 3x that amount and buying up to 3 or 4 bras, this was going to be my summer splurge! They also have a sign that says it costs $5 for a fitting if you aren't buying anything. I was later told that it would cost me $5 if I was just trying on bras (I didn't get a fitting from them). In addition, there were constant questions about if I was going to purchase anything, barging in as I was trying to get changed, touching me without asking first. Bra shopping is already a very intimate and vulnerable experience from the jump. Searching for bras when you've been mislead about sizing, body shamed, and are frustrated only exacerbate this. Why offer this kind of treatment to a clientele who may already be on edge? Ugh... just, ugh. I won't be shopping here again ever. read more
