I didn't realize the store I came to the area for doesn't open until 11, so I swung by to kill some time. The store itself was well stocked and pretty well organized. The floor set up was somewhat confusing but I managed to find a good deal. A linen dress perfect for beach trips and muggy weather for less than $14. The fitting room wasn't exactly the cleanest and nobody was there. It was somewhat frustrating trying to find and flag down chattering associates to get me rung up, but the store experience itself felt ok. Would I return again? Most likely not because of the lack of what I'd normally wear, but I'm sure everyone else loves shopping there. read more

Stopped by this store last night. Was at the cash register and the employee who was ringing me up was extremely nice. The issue was her co worker tall AA was wearing a gray long skirt and gray hoodie crop top. Unfortunately the co worker who was off from work and shopping. Decided to have a full on conversation with the employee while I'm standing at the register. I know working in retail doesn't require an MBA. But common sense and respect shouldn't be that hard. read more

There's probably one small rack with sale items yet the exterior boasts signs for 70 percent off. This H&M is pretty standard and does not have any exciting summer selections. Their clothes just seemed very dull and boring and unimaginative---nothing I have not seen years ago. Barely anything was on sale. I have had good experiences here since the pandemic. They have spaced out some of the displays so it's easier to walk around and stay socially distant. I appreciate H&M's corporate approach not to label clothes as a particular gender. It's a subtle change but gives you a sense that you're welcome to wear whatever you like. The cashiers at this store have always seemed respectful and kind -- they do seem a little overworked but it doesn't feel like they take that out on the customers. It's not the biggest H&M but the location is awesome and I can usually always find basics and casual wear in multiple sizes that lasts a long time. read more

Went in for high-waisted black pants (and maybe a whole outfit!) - the first gal was nice but perplexed, so got her "manager" immediately. The manager just looked at me irritatingly, muttered something with an attitude and walked away. I followed her for a couple seconds thinking she was going to say something or help me, but no, she just went about doing stuff, away from me. Totally blew me off. So I left. I've shopped in H&M for decades now, in Europe, and Asia, before they even came to the USA. It used to be one of the stores I would seek out. Now I will pass by. I went here on 06/5 today at 11am this morning and the female Manager refused to sell me the shirt off the mannequin display it was the only one my size and I needed for work. I can't believe folks waited in a l o n g line for hours before the noon opening just for the mere chance to win a $300 gift certificate. Admission: I was almost one of those chumps... but had a change of heart. Actually, it was because I did the mental math and realized I wasn't going to be one of the first 100. :} Anyhow, I did go back hours later... I live nearby, had the morning off work, and wanted to see if it was worth the long anticipated wait. It's huge! It is all shiny and new. The staff was shiny too. They had lots of BOGO items and some decently priced opening day specials. I am not a die hard fan of the clothing, but I love their accessories. One can never have enough scarves! I did see a few cute dresses, but it was way too crowded for me to wait in line to try stuff on. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Timing is everything. Edit: I did indeed come back two days later, and bought that $12.95 dress for a Yelp event. The store is conveniently located in downtown Silver Spring. The store is large and spacious. The kids and men's sections were neat and tidy. The women's clothing and accessory sections lacked attention. Much of the jewelry was overpriced. Forever 21 has cheaper costume jewelry. There were T-shirts (2 for $10) that looked like they would last more than just one washing. I wasn't offered any help until I was leaving the store. This store served a useful purpose for me this week. Our granddaughter was staying with us a few extra days and I wanted to pick her up an extra pair of leggings and a few t-shirts. There were plenty of leggings to choose from in the teen section, so success. Then she found 3 cute t-shirts with age appropriate themes. Another success. I have to agree with other reviewers that the store was a bit of a mess. But there was a decent selection and plenty of merchandise available in each size. Personally, I wouldn't shop there for myself, or pretty much any other adult, unless it was for something very trendy or maybe an accessory. But for a growing tween it was fine. Rating was probably 2-1/2 stars, but I'm bumping it to 3 stars because the t-shirts were so cute. And on a weekday there was virtually no waiting in line to check-out. read more

While on vacation i bought socks that were too tight at H&M. I tried to return them but was told they don't take back socks. I love H&M specially this location at downtown silver spring but I will never come back here for I received the worst customer service today.I walk in to the store 10/11/22 at 7:30 pm. I have one exchange cloth and got 3 other sweater to purchase the guy at the cashier DAVID was rude and. He first told me my totally is $38 which is false I imidietly said everything I got was on sale so he changed the price to $18 after he realised. He was not even looking at me and didn't even greet me at all he took my return and didn't even care to check if the tag was on he put it aside and keep saying please insert your card and rolled his eyes.when I try to pay using my apple pay he keep saying are you sure your card is working because it keep saying transaction cancelled. I WORK AT THE REGISTER FOR MORE THAN 2 years I knew he was not just not pressing pay on his side because same card work right away. He didn't tell me it went through but he called the other person right in front of me he scream "nexttt"" like I was confused and said Am I good to go sir because he literally did jot communicate with me at all. I did not like his attitude and I feel unwelcome he needs to apologies Bad customer service!!!! My first, kind of experience, with this store was not a good one. long story short alot of us (about 75 ppl) thought this store would be participating in the black friday sale at midnight...WRONG! so that was a fail buuuut i decided to come back and give it another shot. When walking in i got excited because of the numerous sale signs hanging about and posted up so that's always a good thing. One thing that threw me off were the security guards....they were having a conversation and when i walked by it got quiet and tense...no hello or good morning, so that was awkward lol. i had two options: either join in on the staring contest or just say hello to break the tension. i said "hi how are you?" and nothing...not even a smile cam from them so i was like "hmph okay then" BUT this really friendly associate came up and was nice to ask me if i needed any help and letting me know about other sales. Wish i would've gotten her name! This store is pretty nice and a good size, though i didnt walk through the entire store i was pretty pleased with what i saw. Their cold winter section was a bit lack luster but it was after christmas so thats understandable. They also had a great selection of jeans for 19.95 when i was there. Overall the store is nice, clean, and well stocked. Will be coming back very soon! and i'll give an update review so those security guards better be friendlier this time around! read more

Just like any other H&M this store is a hot mess. Even on a weekday mornings, it's as crappy as a weekend. Textures are put close together to maximize putting out merchandise to limit mobility of strollers which is so inconvenient for us to shop there without getting frustrated and run into things every 10 seconds. Cashiers are not friendly at all. They don't smile and/or greet customers upon coming up to the register. In addition, there is an entrance to the fitting room via men's section. I was with my stroller and waiting there to be entered as there we nobody else in line. But this male, African American, big bun associate told me to move as I was blocking the entrance? Excuse me? Where am I supposed to stand with a big jogging stroller? I thought that was so rude. And I left my merchandise and walked out and not been back there since then. read more

Just ok for now. Seem to have fewer larger sizes than other H&M 's I've been to. Pretty decent selection for men. The only area that needs some attention is the hosiery section. It's always a mess, never in any order by size, and the selection is skimpy. read more

Horrible experience. At check out I'm ready to pay for my things. The worker at the check out had a stinky attitude. Obviously should not be working in a store to deal with customers. About to pay out, and she claims that I have to pay with my debit instead of my credit card...? Asked her if it's because the machine is broken or something. She said no. H&M is a welcomed addition to the downtown silver spring area. And while I'm excited that they've graced us with their presence, I was kind of hoping that the store would be a *tad* bit bigger. It's smaller than the other H&Ms in the area like the one in Westfield Wheaton Mall but it still has a lot of the same affordable fashion items that it's known for. Saturdays, as expected, can be a bit of a mob scene since the dressing room is small and lines can get a little ridiculous but for the most part the brand spanking new store stays pretty tidy and has a decent staff manning the floor and registers. read more

The staff seems to be working hard but it shouldn't take me 20+ minutes to check out. And yesterday it did just that - same as the other times. We went to H&M today because I saw this adorable dress in the window. My husband agreed immediately and we went in to make a purchase. The store was full of people, the doors unlocked, and others followed us in. Apparently though, they were closed. A fact they did't feel like sharing with anyone in the store. I went to try on the 2 dresses I liked (because they multiplied when I got into the store) and was told then that the store was closed. There were plenty of people trying on clothes, a full line at checkout, and the girl let other people into the dressing room. Just not me. I'm not sure exactly what made the store closed to me and no one else, but apparently my money is not necessary. I have worked retail. In fact I worked retail in 5 stores and managed one of them. I struggle to understand why my money is not special enough in this shop. read more

I can't believe I'm giving H&M 5 stars. Friendly staff who don't mind going the extra mile to help this BBW find some nice clothes. They had a selection that 16s and some 18s women could wear. Trust me, I was impressed with my purchases. I got three items under $40. Another thing that I would like to mention is they have a massive selection in this location. Considering I've only got the Baltimore and Georgetown location to compare them to. I'd say this location was cleaner and more organized than the others. read more

I usually shop at the h&m location downtown yet I am happy that a location has opened in downtown silver spring. The SS location is larger yet it tends to be a bit disorganized. Every time I walk in the store, the checkout line is so long and slow. If you have time, go up to the h&m inside the Wheaton mall. Quick lines and plenty of options. read more

Downtown location is cool and they have a good selection of sizes, however this location is too junky and congested for my liking. I felt tired and zapped just looking at the mess in the store. The lines were long and even with the 3 cashiers at the register, which is usually enough to get a line moving fast, the lines moved quite slowly. I think I'll stick to the Wheaton mall location, but it's good to know that this location is here just in case Wheaton doesn't have what I need. read more

I live nearby and was thrilled when I learned that H&M would be moving to DTSS... much more interesting from a style perspective than other nearby retailers (*cough* AmerApparel)... great designs, cheaply made and cheaply priced. Great for trying something new. In general, I do love H&M. BUT... there was one BIG problem... the staff & security made us feel like we were suspects on a shoplifting spree... *suspicious*, cold, unfriendly, yet _stylish_, of course (except for the rent-a-cop who kept banging his flashlight in his fist right behind us -- he had no style at all). I have never felt so unwelcome in a retail establishment.. This was a HORRIBLE experience and I am disinclined to go back... unless its to take a revenge p00p in the dressing room. read more

Stopped in today to see the new store taking the place of the Borders. The space is very large and nicely laid out. Aisles are clean and cleared of clutter. Prices are what you would expect from H&M. Fairly inexpensive and styles that are on point. Overall, this will be a nice addition to the DTSS vibe and is sure to do plenty of business. read more

H&M is usually my international go to spot. The prices are reasonable and the styles remain current. However, lately I've noticed that their sizes aren't very, shall I say, accommodating to those who do not fit into a size 6. I'm not entirely sure, but I also think the prices have risen significantly over the past few years. This location itself tends to accommodate a slimmer crowd. The sales associates are exceedingly rude, however, in spite of the shortcomings, the store itself offers a wide variety of styles and I recommend this location to those with less discriminating tastes. read more

I'm general, I love H&M but this is one of my favorite locations. Its always well-stocked and the staff members are always friendly, helpful and super fleeky! I usually just go there for the basics, the Divided line, tights, camisols, and button ups but even when I'm just window shopping, it's a great place for hassle free browsing. Its been a while since I visited but it looks like there has been a recent expansion of space or a change in set up! Definitely a good look. If you're the person that's looking for a reason to keep yourself from spending your paycheck all in one place then here's the only con that I can offer: the dressing rooms are always dusty...but I've noticed this at all the locations that I've visited. The best way around that is to not let your feet or the garment hit the floor...if at all possible or to complain... but any way love love and absolutely LOVE the brand. Enjoy! read more

So you can hurry home?! Don't work in retail if u wanna rush customers out.... I did not wanna shop... just needed a gift card. That's All....
