Night Dreams is where Comfort Zone used to be, but it's not Comfort Zone. The staff and merchandise are different. At Comfort Zone, they could find the exact merchandise you wanted right away, show you the choices, and make a recommendation if you wanted. At Night Dreams, they don't know the merchandise very well - you ask for something, and they have to start scanning the display and examining packages and opening boxes to see if it's what you asked for. They definitely don't seem knowledgeable enough to make recommendations. The good stuff is downstairs, as it was for Comfort Zone, but it's confusing and cramped down there now, hard to find things. The merchandise selection is not good, nowhere near as good as it was for Comfort Zone. And one of the staff members made a nasty remark. There are a couple of things that don't figure into my evaluation, but you might want to know. There's a 4% surcharge on credit card purchases. There's no dedicated staff downstairs, so if you think you might need help, which is likely, you should ask them to go with you when you first come into the store. Eh, first time the older guy who was there was very helpful & kind. Second visit there, and they attempted to overcharge for an item. No communication, no explanation. The guy was very angry. Had he just explained the situation and the rules and/or policy followed by proof (which should not be hard given the 100 cameras) onsite. The issue would have been a non-issue. As for the items, they have a well stocked inventory. Prices tend to be marked up very high. I only know this, because I have wholesale accounts at the majority of sex shops and distribution. Most places might get an item wholesale for $8 mark it up to $15-$20, But here that item will be $45-$50. Given that it's the only shop on this side, price hikes are not necessary. Parking is awful so be sure to back it up in there, or fight route one traffic. The woman who host classes, she was very nice and friendly. I host monthly classes for something else, and was going to use this store as our main source weekly for the kink events, but will have to find another location. Comfort Zone is hands down my new favorite adult store. Their selection is limitless and the store is much bigger than it appears from the outside. You will be asked to present your ID when you first arrive and they will ask you to put your cellular devices away for privacy issues. You will also find toy cleaner, various lubes, etc. The bottom floor provides a large selection of magazines, DVDs, and various other adult items. Literally just bought a vibrator and they tested in the store and it worked fine. Went home to test it out and it wasn't working. Put multiple batteries in and it wouldn't turn on. One of the spring that is used for the batteries was messed up. Got it to work for 5 minutes and then it just stop working in the middle. It now doesn't even work to the point where you can hear the motor noises but nothing was actually vibrating. Very upset. It pretty much died so i'm very disappointed. literally within 30 minutes of the purchase it stopped. Sooooo. Many. Freakin. RULES!! This aint my first rodeo. I've been to many establishments like this over the years and I can understand the paranoia about a prudish community (Wait... it's College Park) trying to harass small business owners who make a living off of the taboo...but COME ON! We barely got in the door when the owners asked us for ID. No problem. They explained that there were some issues with shops in NY and GA that had cops come in and ID everyone and one shop had to go to court because someone didn't have an ID. Ok fine. After I got my ID back, I started walking towards the displays when they stopped us and launched into a full fledged ORIENTATION. No touching of your mobile device. Keep all Bluetooth and other electronics out of plain sight. No wielding or even mild tapping of the paddles and similar apparatus. No Public Displays of Affection (there's really a sign on a back wall that says exactly that) and at least half a dozen more. Mind you, we're standing in a cold ass doorway the whole time. I was just waiting for them to ask us to keep all hands and feet in the ride at all times and wait before it comes to a complete stop before disembarking. So after submitting blood & urine samples, undergoing a background check and completing two rounds of interviews, we were finally allowed off the welcome mat to look around. The place had lots of stuff, but it's very small and the aisles were quite cramped. Some parts of the store looked like an episode of "Hoarders: Sex Toy Edition". There's barely enough space to walk down the aisles without brushing up against something so it makes shopping a little tricky. I almost knocked over quite a few things. I definitely didn't want to get lectured again, so I tried to make myself as tiny as possible as I ambled down the aisles. About 5 minutes into our visit, one of the owners pops up out of NOWHERE saying that she noticed us in a particular aisle and proceeds to give us a play by play of how they decided to lay out the store and why ("We put all the limited warranty stuff here, extended warranties here, red stuff here, blue stuff over there..."). By this point I was ready to go, but my boyfriend wanted to look downstairs first. It was dark and cold and looked like someone's basement. The same owner emerges from the shadows to welcome us and give us the play by play about this space as well (Oh boy..). There was even less room to walk around down there, but guess what there were more of... RULES! Anything taken from downstairs had to be placed in a black bag first before you could return upstairs to pay for it, etc. (I stopped listening after that) Good gracious. Down here is where they keep the movies and paddles and electric stuff. There was one paddle I saw that looked like something I keep in my kitchen. It was made of a foam/rubber with an angular edge and it had the weirdest texture. I picked it up and it was kinda wobbly so I caught it with my other hand. The same owner appears OUT OF NOWHERE to give us yet ANOTHER 5-minute lecture about not wielding or tapping the paddles (I just caught the thing with my hand to make sure it didn't hit anything else. Geez!) and how her security cameras are motion sensitive and "go nuts" when the paddles are waved and whatnot. (I got a feeling that the cameras weren't the only thing nuts in there). Good thing I didn't feel the overwhelming urge to give my boyfriend a gentle pat on the butt. We might have ended up being banned from returning! (which, at this point, would've been fine by me!) Talk about a total mood killer. People usually visit these places to have a good time, shop in privacy and peace and maybe pick up a few fun things to enjoy with their partner (or when their partner is away). Our visit to this shop achieved NONE of this. We made a beeline for the door when the OTHER owner stopped us to do an exit interview. I. Am. Not. Kidding. He said he had only a few questions. He asked how we discovered the store (I was afraid that if my boyfriend gave the wrong answer, that he might be waterboarded or something). My boyfriend said that his vet was next door and at that the guy starts asking all these question about the vet. By this time, I'm sure that nothing short of a SWAT team is gonna get us out of here. Then he asked what we thought of the store. I deferred to the boyfriend yet again since he seemed to have established a rapport with the dude. Then as soon as my boyfriend puts his hand on the door handle, the owner stops him AGAIN to tell him about this AMAZING workshop they have next week. Its free and all these people will be there and there's giveaways and demonstrations and blah blah blah. By this time I started looking for one of those over-the-door sex swings because I was SURE that the straps on those things would be strong enough to hold me as I hung myself to put an end to this misery... Something that I really appreciate is great customer service and as time goes by a lot of stores lose that. To find great customer at adult store is very rare. Many people enter these stores and have no idea what they are looking at or looking for. The owner of the store ID's you when you come in and gives you a spell about privacy and no phones or things like that because people want to feel comfortable when there shopping and don't want to end up on a social network. They also ask that you have someone help if you want to handle one of the toys, because to be honest someone is eventually going to buy it and you can't get these things dirty. Nicki the owners wife was full of knowledge and spent at least 45 mins explaining the features of the different toys because let's be honest once you buy one you can't bring it back (think about it). This place is very professional and has one of the biggest varieties of toys i have ever seen. There is an upstairs and downstairs and one can honestly get overwhelmed. They have a very open mind in this shop and are willing to work with any group of people. Beware! If you buy something from this place that is in a box, it may not be what you think you're buying. It can be sealed in plastic inside the box, but it doesn't matter. They will not take it back. That may be understandable for health reasons, but they also will not give you what you paid for. What can I say about this place. It's truly a visible hidden gem (if you know what I mean). I have driven by this place on many occasions and from the outside it looks blah but when you walk in (eyes wide open) it's like heaven! When you walk in someone will check your ID to make sure you are of legal age to browse the store. We were greeted by Nina a sweet very knowledgeable young woman who gave us the run down of the store. There is two levels. The main level from when you walk into and a basement level which is quite huge.
