New spot in Campbell and have been wanting to give it a try. The hostess was kind and seated us right away. The restaurant has a nice flow and love that it has windows that open all the way to provide an indoor/outdoor feel. When I tried to order a cocktail I was informed that they would make no modifications to it. When I asked why the waiter pointed to the Michelin star on the menu. Didn't bother to ask about my allergies, or offer to make something similar. I decided to skip the drink. We ordered the fried artichokes and the beet salad to start. The fried artichokes came with three petite halves and a side of sauce. They were tasty but nothing stood out. The beet salad was refreshing but nothing special. Our main dish we ordered the Salsiccia pizza. It was fresh, and pretty tasty. For drinks my partner had a Blood Orange Beer and the Margarita La Michoacana. The beer was refreshing and the margarita was okay. The cup was filled with ice so the ratio of drink to ice was lacking. Pro: nice spot to grab a pizza with friends. Deltas: Customer Service is lacking and attention to detail with the food can be improved. One note, another waiter came to check on us and asked if I would like a drink. Explained what happened and he said no it's not that, we just have one bartender right now and also the specialty drink mix is already made, so they can't remake it right now. Came here on a Friday afternoon for a solo lunch. I had to stand at the front for a few minutes before getting served so I wasn't stoked about that. And then the host asked me what I needed which seemed kind of stupid because I was clearly waiting to get seated. I wanted pizza but didn't want cheese and I wanted something green with protein. I got a salad and added shrimp and then the vegan pizza. I never get excited about salad and specifically arugula, but the honey dressing, goat cheese, and fresh pear slices really just had me devouring the whole salad. It was so good! There were some pepitas for a little texture. I really enjoyed the salad. Shrimp was ok and not super skimpy about portions. Vegan pizza was excellent. Dough was nice and chewy and the enoki mushrooms were standout fresh. I did miss the cheese a little and added some chili and parm. Overall I would come back if they could work out the welcome a little better because the first 10 minutes I was there was really off putting. read more

Doppio Zero is located on a busy corner of E. Campbell Avenue, Campbell, and we had a lovely meal here. It looks nice inside, and the service was very good. We started with the roasted beet appetizer, and it was excellent: the beets, hazelnuts, arugula, and cheese went well together. I had the vesuvio pizza, listed under "red" pizzas, but it has a yellow tomato puree, so it was more yellow/orange. There was a small bit of cured ham in it; I did not mind this, since I am not big on meat. The pizza was tasty, though a bit too salty. I could not taste the tomato puree and wish there had been more of it or perhaps some pieces of tomato added in. My husband had the marguerita pizza, and he enjoyed his too, though he also wished it had slices of tomato. The pizza crust is puffy, yet soft on the crust, and very, very thin and soft in the center. I'd like to go back and perhaps try another type of pizza. read more

Ive been to this location multiple times since they've opened and have had terrible service on 2 different occasions. I decided to give it one last try since I enjoy the food and cocktails they serve. I've seen the other reviews about complimentary bread not being offered and I can say that they don't offer it unless you ask for it. I'm not sure why since it is complementary. Came here on a Friday night and this place was fully packed! The wait for 2 was 45-60 minutes. There's street parking around the area. Our server was vibrant, friendly, and attentive. For a starter we got the truffle fries. From images they look a bit plain but the truffle oil is definitely there, fries were crispy, and the portion was more than enough for 2. I ordered the marechiano for my entree which is squid ink pasta with clams, mussel, and scallop. The noodles were perfectly al dente. I wish it was a bit saucier but I prefer my pasta loaded with sauce. They also provide an oil infused with rosemary and thyme which had a little bit of spice and was great to top the pasta off with. Finally got around to trying Doppio Zero since it took over the old Rocket Fizz spot in Campbell. The interior is modern and spacious--looks like they are able to accommodate large groups and parties as well. There were quite a few happening when I came in for dinner on a Friday evening. They also have a really nice looking bar! We started off with their Crispy Artichokes topped with parmigiano reggiano cheese, lemon, and a side of lemon aioli sauce. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by these! The artichoke was so good! Soft, easy to eat, and the sauce was delicious! Would definitely get these again! I just wish there were more than four pieces! Doppio Zero's focus are their pizzas and pastas, so of course we had to try one of each! For the pasta, we got the Fettuccine Wild Boar. Homemade egg fettuccine with tender, shredded chunks of braised wild boar with parmigiano reggiano. Very tasty! For our pizza, we got the La Porchetta with truffle mushroom spread, mozzarella, roasted herbs pork belly porchetta, and shave parmigiano reggiano cheese. The mushroom spread wasn't overly truffle-y and the porchetta is very thinly sliced. Their pizzas are made in the Neapolitan style, so the crust is soft yet thick, and the pizza slice itself is on the thinner side. You'll definitely have to use two hands to eat this one! Doppio has several locations, the one in Cupertino left good impression, yet closed a few years ago. I grabbed the opportunity to visit this Campbell one when presented. It was Sunday lunch, crashed with the downtown farmers' market which made parking difficult, but also seating very available. Guess patrons avoid Sunday lunches. We order too many appetizers and they were all enjoyable. The entreés, however, were a bit shy of excellent. Great pizza dough and cheeses, but the chili peppers were way too spicy. The Ragu pasta were great in flavor, but the meat a bit on the dry side (wild boar) and pasta should be wider (whatever the name of the wide one). The best was the Gnocchi, great texture, great sauces, and excellent compliment with eggplant. We were too engaged and I forgot to make pictures. That's probably a good thing. read more

A large group of us had dinner here recently on the night before New Year's Eve. Our table was ready when we arrived at the time of reservation. Service was friendly and helpful and accomodating. It was the first time at Doppio Zero for several couples, so we tried a wide variety of starter items from the menu, including the Burrata, Croquette, Broccolini, Margherita Pizza, Salsiccia Pizza and Fries. Despite how crowded the restaurant was, the food came promptly from the kitchen and everything was hot and fresh and delicious. In particular, people loved the pizza and the burrata. Entrees ranged from Oxtail Fettuccini to Branzino to Lasagna to Pollo Arosto. All were well prepared and nicely presented. A few of us had the Oxtail Fettuccini and it was fantastic. All the entree portions were generously sized. Overall it was a great meal and kudos to the staff for being attentive throughout the meal. We can't wait to come back and eat here again. read more

Located in downtown campbell directly accross the Villa Ragusa.....it used to be where 'Flights' was located. Street parking if you are lucky, otherwise theres a garage structure nearby. As you open the double doors, you are welcomed by this open, inviting atmosphere. My wife and i stopped in for a lunchdate and it was nice to be greeted and seated efficiently (they were not busy at this time we walked in). The atmosphere is set by their open dining room area designed with a casual, modern decor of furniture and lit up elegantly with the row of chandeliers above you. They have a wide open bar scene that showcases all they have to offer for your drinking pleasure. Their wait staff is inviting and attentive. We were offered the standard water and time to look over our menus. They give the complimentary started bread with vinegar and oil...enough time for you to at least look over their drinks list and be able to choose accordingly. The menu is not extensive and there are plenty of options to satisfy your craving and curiosity. We started out with a couple of cocktails and our appetizers came out efficiently.. We did not have to wait long at all. The presentation of each of our orders was great for 'the gram' and they all tasted great. I personally did have real small issues with some of what i ordered but only because of my personal preferences on italian consistency and taste. We ordered the olives, prosciutto and burrata and beets (all labeled gluten free) and I verified when I ordered that they were gluten free and the server nodded.... They all arrived and we were so excited but the prosciutto arrived, no burrata and had grilled bread on the plate ((sigh)) thankfully it was only touching a few pieces of prosciutto which gave me a few pieces to eat (I had forgotten that it came with burrata or I would have asked where it was, so my bad on that!) The olives were spicy, which I did not expect, but were tasty The beets were good, but needed a little seasoning but the nice balance of cheese, greens and hazelnuts was refreshing and light. We then ordered the ravioli vegani and it was sooooooo good!! Had a chance to try Doppio Zero during Happy Hour last week and had a great time. They have HH from 4:30 - 6 PM and luckily we were able to snag a table right when it started which was great. The ambiance here is very cute and it was perfect for some girl time! For food we tried: * fried calamari/shrimp - this was not bad but I felt the calamari was a little rubbery. This did come with a cocktail sauce and an aioli sauce though which was a nice dip. * fried potato balls with Gruyère dip - this was really yummy and cam with 5. This was crispy and crunchy and went really well with the oozy gooey cheesy dip *beets - this was actually very yummy and refreshing to try. It also came with straccialla cheese and hazelnuts which added the perfect flavor * Pizza (with meat) - this was fresh and the slices could have been a little more crispy but the flavors were very good *Gnocchi - this came in a creamy sauce with pieces of bacon which was pretty nice. After wolfing down an excellent $14 nectarine salad (fresh organic arugula, nectarine, goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, lemon honey thyme citronette), we three shared three pizzas: The wife ordered the $22 Fungo pizza (wild mushrooms, goat cheese, fontina cheese, thyme, truffle oil, Italian chilies) was not my liking, perhaps because the mushrooms were like bulbous tadpoles. My friend ordered the $22 Estate pizza (heirloom cherry tomato, san marzano tomato, garlic, oregano, basic pesto), which tasted good despite the headscratching lack of cheese. She is no longer my friend. I ordered the $24 Vesuvio (yellow tomato puree, fior de latte mozzarella, dry-aged pork, stracciatella cheese, shaved parmesan reggiano). It was buttery goodness. Flimsy, wet, thin buttery goodness. But, as tasty and inventive as they are, authentic Neapolitan pizzas are flimsy and thin. I would request being cut into six slices next time because cut into four slices means they were extra droopy and had to be curled up. Loved the croquettes, but you need to eat these right away - the melty cheese inside isn't as good when it's cold. ;) I think my favorite for the night was the gnocchi, served in a parmesan cream sauce with bacon. We were sat at a small two seater table and my friend and I always order too much and the table wasn't big enough for all our food haha I ordered a tequila mule and my friend ordered a non alcoholic cocktail and bother were good. Food: Little gem salad with anchovies, it was basically a Caesar salad we thought it would have been a little more interesting than what we got but it was good overall. Calamari could have been in the fryer longer, wasn't crispy enough. Broccolini had good flavor and we liked the crunch. Pizza had potential with flavors. We visited Doppio Zero for dinner and overall had a great time - tasty food and drinks. However, they seated us at a table in the direct path of the side door (near the bar) that opens to the patio area. Every single time someone opened that door, we were blasted by cold air (the table next to us had the same issue). I wish they had put up some kind of barrier/divider or something to prevent this, as we had to eat dinner with our coats on and it made for a fairly consistent poor dining experience. That aside, the drinks were tasty and refreshing. Service was nice but a bit slow since they were busy. The servers also didn't indicate what dishes or drinks they were bringing brought out, and left us to figure it out on our own (drinks were a bit confusing due to similar flavors/colors). We tried two pizzas and they were both tasty -- though the burrata on the doppio zero won out for me over the la carne. Also if you haven't had it before, the croquette appetizer is a must get. I'm not usually a potato person, but this was delicious. All in all, nice restaurant and I would come back for the food. Plenty of parking options. We were a group of 7 and had good service. The food and drink options were good the calamari was golden and perfectly crisp. I had the sea bass dish which was perfectly cooked. A bigger piece of fish would be better instead of the bigger portion size of the pasta (seemed like it was couscous). The noise level was a little higher than I preferred but it wasn't bad. I could still hear the folks sitting right next to me just not the folks on the opposite side of the table. Second time here and the food was just as good. What wasn't as good was the atmosphere and the service. Our waitress was not very nice and not eager to answer our questions, acted annoyed more than anything. It was also VERY loud and hard to have a conversation. One of the portions we got was very small and we got overcharged for it by 2 dollars. Manager was very nice and helped us with an issue we had with our food and gave us free desserts. But he did also say he would take the item off the bill and he did not, causing us to pay $38 for something that we did not end up eating. Also, I had asked them to put a candle on the dessert and they did not do that even though we were there for a birthday. I definitely won't go back here during a busy day, might go back during the week in the evening to see if it can match my first visit. I would like to try the pizza. Terrible experience due entirely to the manager on duty last night (1/24/26 around 9:30-10:30 pm). We were a group of 8, having dinner and drinks. Our server never informed us that it was last call for drinks before 10:30, despite the restaurant closing at 11. At 10:32 pm, we politely asked if we could order another round and a bottle of wine--something we would have easily finished before 11 pm. The server told us the manager would not allow it. When I spoke directly with the manager, he flatly refused, saying his staff needed to be out by 11. I explained that wouldn't be an issue for us and that the problem was we were never told it was last call. His response? "Well, you should know when we close." So as a customer, I'm expected to watch the clock instead of being informed by staff? This manager was dismissive, rude, and showed zero interest in customer service or basic hospitality. Because of him, the business lost at least $100 in drink sales that night--and likely all of our future business. The servers are always kind, professional, and hardworking, which makes this even more frustrating. Unfortunately, one manager with an attitude can ruin the entire experience. Management seriously needs to address this--because this level of rudeness is unacceptable. read more

We ordered brussels sprouts, potato croquettes, and prosciutto and burrata as our appetizers. The potato croquettes were nice and crispy - probably my favorite. I got the Spaghetti Botarga as my entree and it was very filling. Some of the salmon pieces did feel a bit overcooked, but overall the dish was super tasty! My sister and I came for a late lunch and we got the Doppio Zero pizza, the ravioli and the Brussels sprouts, all to share and both got a Hugo Spritz. The ravioli was the star however, the truffle sauce it came with was to die for! Now the bad: the service. We came around 2pm, not a busy time at all and I honestly wouldn't think of coming back during a busy time if THATS the service they provide. For starters we entered and there was no one at the host stand, we waited a good 10 minutes before someone approached the stand. As we were seated and looking at the menu, my sister and I noticed we had two different menus. Items on the one I had were missing on hers and vice versa. It took a while for someone to come over and acknowledge us, when someone finally did, it was the bar tender. We ordered our food and the pizza I had originally ordered was on my menu and not the one my sister had and he told me they were out of it. It would have been nice to know WHICH menu they go off of. I additionally asked for bread for the table (the menu says it's by request). Our appetizer came out and no bread so I asked the woman that brought out the sprouts if we could have some bread to which she responded "yes" and never came back. Our pizza and pasta came out (brought out by the same woman) and again I asked if we could please have some bread to which she said "yes" and again never came back with bread. I'm pretty sure she didn't understand me because all the service staff and the management that was walking around was speaking in Spanish but the least she could have done was let our server know we needed something if she didn't understand what I was asking for. The staff in general was just very unprofessional. The guy that had taken our order started complaining to another server about the tip a table had left and while it was in Spanish, I understood every word. Just seemed like a conversation that could have been had in the back room because while they maybe think "no one will understand" someone might and it kills the vibe. The decor inside is beautiful but simplistic. Makes you want to come dressed up but also have a casual night out. We started off with the appetizers since we came when happy hour was still going on (that's a plus!) we order the calamari which were delicious! I would definitely order again. Sorry we didn't take a picture, it didn't stand a chance! We were too hungry! For my entrée I chose Melanzane alla Parmigana. THIS was by far the best thing I've tasted in a long time. Essentially it is like a veggie lasagna. And no, I am not a vegetarian lol but this was so good, I'm coming back for just that! My fiance chose the Marechiaro. It is pasta made with squid ink and a bunch of seafood in it. It included shrimp, scallops, and clams. Super delicious and a healthy portion! She loved it! Went on a Friday evening - nice food but the quality went down they dont include as much seafood as they used to on the same plate and the biggest issue is i can hear the conversation of the person next to me, they will seat you about 1 foot from other people in other tables....ugh! also the server was like, ok are you done??? it was so rushed, but the people next to me took their sweet time drinking wine so it felt unfair I dont like that. i will say thats a bit of american culture to rush people. read more

Located in Downtown Campbell among a plethora of hip dining locations, Doppio Zero fits right in with its warm yet modern interior, packed with seating but still managing to be inviting and worthy of a nice night out with friends or family. Doppio Zero's menu and marketing heavily emphasize their pizzas but after trying them out for the first time, I think they are doing themselves a disservice because while the pizzas failed to impress, the pastas were incredibly good and worth a return visit on their own. I had a chance to try the Jalapeno and Pulcinella pizzas, both of which fell a little flat. Despite all the fancy ingredients they list on the menu for the pizzas, they ended up tasting pretty basic and both were rather undercooked in the middle, leaving them limp and doughy. The one shining star was the Fungo mushroom pizza, but it's such a strong and rich flavor that I would be careful before making it your whole meal. If you are absolutely determined to order a pizza, my recommendation would be to pair up with someone you are dining with to split a pasta and pizza dish together so that you can try out both sides of the menu and hopefully not grow bored or tired of any particular flavor. The real star of the show for me was the pasta, specifically the Fregola Del Pescatore which was excellent, and absolutely packed with an impressive depth of flavor from the seafood and sauce. I actually ordered this unaware that Fregola was type of round little pasta and while I might have preferred a more traditional noodle, the rest of the ingredients more than made up for the surprising noodle shape. Came here with family and we were all very disappointed by the food. The gnocchi was mushy, bland, and flavorless. The pizzas and fried artichokes were soggy and falling apart. And the scallops risotto was hard, overcooked, and gritty. For how much they charge compared to the dozens of other Italian spots in Campbell, this whole menu experience was a big miss. read more

This place is the worst of the Doppio Zero locations, which has gone downhill through the years. They kicked everyone out an hour before closing, service was inconsistent and one of the barmen was so rude while the other one was nice. Cocktails - none of them are actually mixed at the bar! Everything is premixed, and bartenders just kind of garnish the drinks for appearance's sake so it's not possible to adjust sweetness levels at all. Why bother having a full bar when you're not going to make real drinks? Selling ambience over function is so lazy, and to charge market-level prices ($15-17 / cocktail before tax + tip) is ridiculous. Octopus appetizer was so bland and tasteless. Plating was pretty, but useless when food sorely lacks flavor. Scammed -- will not return. read more
