I've been to the one in Mountain View and was excited to see this location. It is gorgeous inside and feels like a fresh but luxe space. I was seated right away for a Thursday at lunch but unfortunately, the service was slow. Although I appreciated being given space to talk, it took a while to order and then a while to get our check because the server had a party of 8. It wasn't packed so not sure what the lag was. Alas, the food was fanatically. They have both a delicious and filling vegan pizza with lots of rainbow veggies and a vegan ravioli I hope to try next time. Amazing Italian place. This place was recommended by one of my Italian friend and it is truly phenomenal. All the food was so done so well. The polpo was a little small but the texture and salad pair with it was on point. For little gem it was also very refreshing and you could really taste the anchovies. For both of these dishes, I think the hardest thing about salad is seasoning it correctly since if too much sauce it gets soggy but too little would make you feel like you're just eating raw veggies so they do a great job seasoning it. For the pastas, I could not stop eating the Marechiaro Pasta. It was seasoned perfectly, the seafood was not overcooked, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The wild boar fettuccine was also great, the slow cooked meat was not dry and overly chewy and meshes with the pasta perfectly. Now the pizzas. I cannot stop talking about their Figs pizza. There are so many pizzas so I wouldn't know if it's their best pizza but it definitely blew me away. The ingredients used, the salty from the prosciutto, savory from the balsmic, with a tiny little bit sweet from the figs, really compliments the perfectly chewy dough makes me finish a slice in seconds. The sopressata pizza was also really good, it is pretty spicy for people who can't handle spice, I loved it but the figs one just took over the show. The waiters were super nice to us and would like have some small talk to us which was so nice of them and truly made us feel comfortable and the place the decoration is really classy makes me want to come here again. read more

We stopped in for dinner on a Friday. The place was crowded, but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. The food was delicious. We started with the prosciutto and burrata and the artichoke appetizer. Both were fabulous. For entrees, we had the vegan ravioli and the short rib risotto special. Our cocktails were great, and our server gave excellent recommendations for both drinks and entrees. The risotto was phenomenal. Enjoyed a delicious dinner during our first visit to DZ Campbell, after being years-long fans of the Mountain View location. This location has a pleasingly open and modern ambiance that blends nicely with the downtown Campbell vibe. We nibbled on pleasingly crisp, flavorful truffle fries while enjoying cocktails (Pornstar and Espresso Fizz Martini were both great), and then ordered a few items to share for dinner (we were a party of 3). The classic Margherita pizza, and their signature Doppio Zero pizza did not disappoint - I could eat that pizza dough every day, and it's the star of their Neapolitan style pizzas. I've had their pizzas before, but this was the first time we tried their wild mushroom spinach ravioli, which is served in a fondue truffle sauce. We loved every bite and used the pizza crust to soak up every drop of the sauce lol. We were quite full, but talked ourselves into sharing a Hazelnut Tartufo (dark chocolate + hazelnut gelato covered in praline and hazelnut), and then rounded out our meal with Limoncello shots. Great meal overall, and service was cheerful and attentive. Parking isn't too bad...there's a lot nearby, but we were lucky and found a spot right in front. This is a review for their Happy Hour which is Monday through Thursday 4:30 PM - 6 PM, and is a fantastic deal. Walked in to their beautiful open restaurant and had no problems getting a seat, which there are a ton of. There's lots of tasty options on their Happy Hour menu. We got there at opening on Monday night - easy to be seated! Tables are reasonably spaced, clean and simple. As the night went on, the place filled up but never got super noisy. Nice atmosphere for us two couples to chat and catch up. Drinks and food were served quickly. I enjoyed the holiday special old fashioned. The pizzas were imaginative, tasty and reasonably priced. The ravioli plate was generously portioned. The sea bass was well prepared and came with good sides. My only note was the slight awkwardness of the service. Our food came from delivery folks instead of being accompanied by our server (who would have know who ordered what). Also, once the food came we were essentially left to ourselves. Fist time at Doppio Zero and it will not be my last! Came on a Monday for Happy Hour and love that they have an extensive menu and discounts on wine, beer, and cocktails. Everything looked so good but we had the calamari, gnocchi, and diavola pizza. Very reasonably priced for their portions. The calamari was lightly battered and loved that they included 3 shrimp as well. This was very tasty and amazed at the portion size for the price. The gnocchi was handmade and the creamy sauce with bacon was everything. Was not overly rich and the sauce was perfect to dip the crust of the pizza in. The pizza was pretty good though the sauce did seep through so the middle was quite mushy but really good. Drinks were great too and love that they have Peroni on tap. I'm not normally a fan of tiramisu but this was a good one! It had more coffee tones than alcohol which was a perfect cap to the meal. Service was also exceptional even though they were very busy for a Monday. Bright airy space and love that it is very open although that does cause for some flies to come in. This spot honestly almost never disappoints. We've been here several times now and keep coming back because the overall experience is consistently great. The pizza is always solid, the service has always been friendly, and the vibe at this Campbell location is so much better than the Mountain View one. It's bright, lively, and in a great area for people watching, especially if you grab a seat at the bar. The side windows open up too, which makes it especially nice during the warmer season and gives the whole place a fun, open atmosphere. The whole place just feels inviting and easy to enjoy whether you're meeting friends, grabbing pizza, or just wanting a fun dinner in a good location. It's one of those spots where you can relax, enjoy the energy around you, and have a consistently good time. That said, we decided to branch out and try a different appetizer since we've already tried most of the menu, and the octopus was a HUGE miss. It was $19 for one small tentacle, and for that price it just didn't feel worth it at all. Zazzle at Santana Row is also overpriced, but at least they give you way more octopus and a much bigger tentacle. Honestly, you could probably go to an Asian market, buy a whole octopus for around that price, and grill it yourself. The dish itself was also pretty mid. Not terrible, just not memorable and definitely not worth $19. It felt more like a $10 dish. The puree tasted almost like leftover soup carrot and tomato. So overall, I still really like this place and I'd absolutely come back for the pizza, the other appetizers, the ambience, the location, and the service. We ordered 2 truffle fries, prosciutto burrata, brussel sprouts with pancetta, Doppio Zero pizza, Marachiaro (squid ink seafood pasta) and a bottle of cab. We scarfed them down and nothing disappoints in portion or taste! The fries had the right hint of truffle, the prosciutto was tasty, the pancetta bits elevated the brussel sprouts so much, the pizza was thick and chewy in the dough but with the right kind of flour freshness in taste, let alone the fragrant and sumptuous amount of arugula, the squid ink pasta could not go wrong either. For desserts, we had hazelnut tartufo, panna cotta and pistacchio e ricotta cake. The pistacchio cake got all of our votes as it was light but delightful. The other 2 items were also great in taste, just as any Italian desserts should be. Service was good. We were checked on and offered explanation on menu and last kitchen call. The decoration was comfortable with green plants in the middle. We even got 2 free table bread with olive oil and vinegar! The ravioli was world class and the pizza is true Italian style. The gnocchi was extremely fresh - but I'd recommend the ravioli over any other pasta. The cocktail list is great - can't go wrong with any choice but we loved the espresso martini and also the the hibiscus mocktail. The brussel sprouts were okay, they needed cooked slightly better and they would've been perfect. The restaurant has a nice flow and love that it has windows that open all the way to provide an indoor/outdoor feel. When I tried to order a cocktail I was informed that they would make no modifications to it. When I asked why the waiter pointed to the Michelin star on the menu. Didn't bother to ask about my allergies, or offer to make something similar. I decided to skip the drink. We ordered the fried artichokes and the beet salad to start. The fried artichokes came with three petite halves and a side of sauce. They were tasty but nothing stood out. The beet salad was refreshing but nothing special. Our main dish we ordered the Salsiccia pizza. It was fresh, and pretty tasty. For drinks my partner had a Blood Orange Beer and the Margarita La Michoacana. The beer was refreshing and the margarita was okay. The cup was filled with ice so the ratio of drink to ice was lacking. Pro: nice spot to grab a pizza with friends. Deltas: Customer Service is lacking and attention to detail with the food can be improved. One note, another waiter came to check on us and asked if I would like a drink. Explained what happened and he said no it's not that, we just have one bartender right now and also the specialty drink mix is already made, so they can't remake it right now. Had the worst dining experience ever. First, we were sat at a table with wobbly legs. Try sharing a plate with a shaky table. One pizza we ordered, the margarita, tasted so bland. Neither the dough nor the cheese had any flavor. We didn't understand what the hype was all about. Secondly, we ordered the spicy honey & jalapeño pizza that apparently had ham. When we mentioned it to our waiter, L***s, his response was "so?". As in so what if it had ham. If he doesn't understand food restrictions, then he shouldn't be in the customer service industry. This place needs to train their staff better and teach them to be more mindful of other people's restrictions/ allergies. Such a disappointment for a new place to fail in so many ways. read more

Came here on a Friday afternoon for a solo lunch. I had to stand at the front for a few minutes before getting served so I wasn't stoked about that. And then the host asked me what I needed which seemed kind of stupid because I was clearly waiting to get seated. I wanted pizza but didn't want cheese and I wanted something green with protein. I got a salad and added shrimp and then the vegan pizza. I never get excited about salad and specifically arugula, but the honey dressing, goat cheese, and fresh pear slices really just had me devouring the whole salad. It was so good! There were some pepitas for a little texture. I really enjoyed the salad. Shrimp was ok and not super skimpy about portions. Vegan pizza was excellent. Dough was nice and chewy and the enoki mushrooms were standout fresh. I did miss the cheese a little and added some chili and parm. I decided to give it one last try since I enjoy the food and cocktails they serve. I've seen the other reviews about complimentary bread not being offered and I can say that they don't offer it unless you ask for it. I'm not sure why since it is complementary. I ordered a glass of wine, and unfortunately it never arrived. Our appetizers and main courses were served before I finally asked the manager about it. He said he would bring it right away, but 15 minutes later it still had not come. When I asked again, his response was that the restaurant was busy. I completely understand that restaurants get busy, which is why I even offered to purchase a glass of wine directly from the bar and bring it back to the table myself, but he told me I could not do that. The food itself was not bad, but the customer service was disappointing. Finally got around to trying Doppio Zero since it took over the old Rocket Fizz spot in Campbell. The interior is modern and spacious--looks like they are able to accommodate large groups and parties as well. There were quite a few happening when I came in for dinner on a Friday evening. They also have a really nice looking bar! We started off with their Crispy Artichokes topped with parmigiano reggiano cheese, lemon, and a side of lemon aioli sauce. I was honestly pleasantly surprised by these! The artichoke was so good! Soft, easy to eat, and the sauce was delicious! Would definitely get these again! I just wish there were more than four pieces! Doppio Zero's focus are their pizzas and pastas, so of course we had to try one of each! For the pasta, we got the Fettuccine Wild Boar. Homemade egg fettuccine with tender, shredded chunks of braised wild boar with parmigiano reggiano. Very tasty! For our pizza, we got the La Porchetta with truffle mushroom spread, mozzarella, roasted herbs pork belly porchetta, and shave parmigiano reggiano cheese. The mushroom spread wasn't overly truffle-y and the porchetta is very thinly sliced. Their pizzas are made in the Neapolitan style, so the crust is soft yet thick, and the pizza slice itself is on the thinner side. You'll definitely have to use two hands to eat this one! It also gives off that charred fragrance that you can smell and see right on the crust. read more

For a starter we got the truffle fries. From images they look a bit plain but the truffle oil is definitely there, fries were crispy, and the portion was more than enough for 2. I ordered the marechiano for my entree which is squid ink pasta with clams, mussel, and scallop. The noodles were perfectly al dente. I wish it was a bit saucier but I prefer my pasta loaded with sauce. They also provide an oil infused with rosemary and thyme which had a little bit of spice and was great to top the pasta off with. Doppio has several locations, the one in Cupertino left good impression, yet closed a few years ago. I grabbed the opportunity to visit this Campbell one when presented. It was Sunday lunch, crashed with the downtown farmers' market which made parking difficult, but also seating very available. Guess patrons avoid Sunday lunches. We order too many appetizers and they were all enjoyable. The entreés, however, were a bit shy of excellent. Great pizza dough and cheeses, but the chili peppers were way too spicy. The Ragu pasta were great in flavor, but the meat a bit on the dry side (wild boar) and pasta should be wider (whatever the name of the wide one). The best was the Gnocchi, great texture, great sauces, and excellent compliment with eggplant. We were too engaged and I forgot to make pictures. That's probably a good thing. read more

My new favorite place to hit for Italian eats. This place can easily become a Campbell staple! Located in downtown campbell directly accross the Villa Ragusa.....it used to be where 'Flights' was located. Street parking if you are lucky, otherwise theres a garage structure nearby. As you open the double doors, you are welcomed by this open, inviting atmosphere. My wife and i stopped in for a lunchdate and it was nice to be greeted and seated efficiently (they were not busy at this time we walked in). The atmosphere is set by their open dining room area designed with a casual, modern decor of furniture and lit up elegantly with the row of chandeliers above you. They have a wide open bar scene that showcases all they have to offer for your drinking pleasure. Their wait staff is inviting and attentive. We were offered the standard water and time to look over our menus. They give the complimentary started bread with vinegar and oil...enough time for you to at least look over their drinks list and be able to choose accordingly. The menu is not extensive and there are plenty of options to satisfy your craving and curiosity. We started out with a couple of cocktails and our appetizers came out efficiently.. We did not have to wait long at all. The presentation of each of our orders was great for 'the gram' and they all tasted great. I personally did have real small issues with some of what i ordered but only because of my personal preferences on italian consistency and taste.
