Wonderful coffee drinks and sandwiches. Service was wonderful and fairly quick, even with a warning that food would take 15-20 mins (it seemed to take less than 15). The breakfast sandwich had fresh ingredients including a fried egg and what tasted like a fresh baked bun. Would definitely come back again! read more

Nice little trendy spot on the Main Street with both indoor and outdoor seating! They have huge "windows" that open out so it even feels like you're sitting outside when you're not! I got the Iced Mocha $4.25 for 16oz (light on ice) and it was super good. The coffee is smooth and very flavorful! Highly recommend it! The bathrooms are ok and also serves as a storage spot just in case you're wondering! read more

Food and coffee were fine, and the shop itself was nice. Where they lost stars - we arrived fairly early in the morning and the shop was nice and warm. But minutes after we got our coffee, the staff threw open these huge windows even though it was about 58 degrees and windy outside. So the shop instantly went from cozy to freezing and my coffee went cold in minutes. They didn't even ask. When we mentioned how cold it had gotten, they only half-closed the windows, so it was still half-freezing. Tried to stick it out for a bit, but ultimately weren't comfortable and so we left. Would not consider going back unless it was already warm outside. read more

We recently moved to Hood River from Denver Colorado. We stopped our hunt for our favorite new coffee shop as soon as we found Doppio coffee. Potentially the best coffee in Hood River! I would definitely say the best atmosphere in any of the cafe or coffee shops in HR. Their little leather swivel chairs are a great spot to sit and chat over a coffee or hang out while you wait for your coffee. The staff are also incredibly friendly - we tend to have a group with issues of making decisions which can be frustrating to those in the service industry so it was great they didn't get frustrating as well (not always the case =|) Their coffee isn't bitter but very smooth and their latte/mocha/flavored drinks aren't too sweet which makes their coffee much more refreshing. We love, no, we adore this place and never miss it any time we're in Hood River. Just something about it we can't do without. They don't always get orders correct, but they'll make it right ASAP. Food is spectacular, coffee is wonderful, staff is out of this world. Outside seating is great in good weather, inside is great too. I've tried quite a bit on their food menu and it's always wonderful. Appreciate they offer numerous hot sauces to go with your food if needed. What bothers me about this stylish and comfortable cafe is the mediocrity of the coffee. Everything else is terrific but if you can't get a good cup of Joe in a place like this in a town like this - what's the point? Hood River, for those who have never been here, is a picture-perfect community snug along the banks of the mighty Columbia River and in the somewhat distant shadow of Mt. Hood. It's a comfortable, prosperous town of well educated and - to some degree - well heeled professionals. If hiking, cycling, camping, canoeing, kayaking or surfboarding are not among your pursuits, you're in the wrong town. So it shouldn't be difficult to find a good cup of coffee here - but Doppio isn't the place. First, their coffee is brewed and then left in thermoses which to me is the first sign of a weak coffee experience; second, it's kind of an after thought. They make their money on espressos and cappuccinos rather than the basic stuff. To be fair, the overall experience of eating/drinking here is quite pleasant - definitely more three star than two. But the lousy coffee from my perspective drops it all down to a two star 'skip it' rating. read more

We enjoyed our latte and they had some great breakfast pastries and even several bright quick plates of breakfasty food, for those in a rush (salads for breakfast and fresh fruit with oatmeal or yogurt, a strada) who want something a bit more substantial. The most stylish of the bunch, but this coffee lounge is third in my heart in Hood River. In its favor, it looks like a luxe European coffee house and has the best outdoor seating. But on all of my visits, something is always a bit off. In particular, service tends to be slow. Sometimes glacially slow. And although it is a local roaster, the coffee just isn't memorable or particularly pleasing. If you want an elegant place to lounge, then Doppio is an excellent choice. If you want to work, most people head across the street to Dog River for their Stumptown Coffee and tables. But, if you want a great laid back atmosphere and conversation with your coffee, Ground wins my heart every time. I always leave Doppio remembering the atmosphere, not the product. read more

Love love love this place! Love it as much as I love Hood River, I have to say. I bring all of my friends that come to Hood River with me here for breakfast. Their Canadian bacon and provolone breakfast sandwich on a croissant is delectable. Cheese, some form of bacon, and butter fat? Yes PLEASE! I know it's not good for me, but when I'm here I'm on vacation dammit. So I will eat what I please! (Plus, I'll probably hike it off later! :D) I also enjoyed the parfait. The coffee has also been outstanding each time I have been there. I also like the the layout inside. I love the large windows they open on a nice day create an open air feeling to the modern, sleek coffeehouse. The last time I went this last may it was perfect perching myself by the open windows, sunlight pouring over the buildings with the fountain outside. We went there in Jan'21 (Covid times). Ambience was nice. We got paninis that tasted great. My pumpkin spiced chai was amazing. No indoor seating due to Covid, although based on the space I felt it would be limited anyway, but they had some outdoor seating too. Kudos and thanks for the "Immigrants are needed" (something like that) message on a pin-up board. Restrooms were clean and well equipped. We'll be back! read more

We stopped here on our way to Mt. Hood for an afternoon visit to the Timberline Lodge. My wife accidentally left her wallet on the counter with her ID and a bunch of cash in it. By the time we realized it, they were closed ... of course our flight home was early the next day. We called and left a message on the store's voicemail that night. When we got to the store (30 minutes before they opened) the next morning.
