Probably the most knowledgeable garage door repair person I've ever met. Very nice and personable. He'll work with you and explain things very well. He'll do a full tuneup of your garage doors. He'll find every issue that's wrong with them and make them as good as new and keep them functioning. He's not all about selling new doors, but to keep your old doors running. The only issue is that he's pretty expensive, but I can't really compare to other places cause I've only had a few companies come out and do work on my doors, but I'd say it's worth it. I'm only gonna use this guy for my garage door from now on. He even fixed things and pointed out things at the other companies had missed. read more

Jim has done multiple services for us at our home from fixing a door that was backed into, to replacing 2 garage door motors that had gone bad with age. Most recently he came out multiple times to fix and then ultimately replace under warranty a new motor that was malfunctioning. He is always very responsive and wants to make sure everything is working correctly and you are satisfied. I highly recommend Jim and his crew. read more

So happy with Jim at Door- Techs! We had a garage door closing issue, called and he came out on a Saturday! A Saturday!! How outstanding is that?! He fixed the issue, and provided us with education on how to make our garage door unit last as long as possible. He was very friendly and professional and we highly recommend him and the team at Door-Techs! Thank you so much! read more

I called Jim thinking I had a broken spring. While we were on the phone he quoted me a fair repair price and was here in under an hour. When he got here he showed me that I did not have a broken spring and proceeded to repair the door. He explained what he was doing, taught me a bit about garage doors and was very nice and courteous. Because the work was all labor, my bill was less than he quoted. A person of lesser character could have pushed me to replace the spring and many of the other parts of my door. Jim did not. I'll call Jim again. read more

Had a spring snap coming home late on a Saturday night after pulling in and closing the door. Called Sunday morning - and first question was if I was stuck (which I was). They made time for me and were out in just a couple of hours and had a fresh set of springs installed plus an overall inspection/lubrication on the door in about an hour. Even explained how in the future if that were ever to happen again how I can get the door open so I can escape! Friendly, prompt, and very, very reasonable service - didn't even charge me extra for a Sunday. So very happy with the service and will recommend to anyone who needs help with their garage doors. read more

Jim and staff were exceptional. He was available earlier than quoted, but called ahead to ensure the new time would work for us. Prior to scheduling, Jim asked some general questions about our garage door and then provided an accurate quote. Following the broken spring replacement, Jim gave some general maintenance tips that would help extend the life of our garage door. I highly recommend using this team for your garage door repair needs. read more

Great service! Came out the next day to install, only took an hour, super polite, and really affordable!

really shotty work, quoted me for a door said opener was included then reneged on that had to pay $800 I wasn't expecting. the wires for the eyes were completely askew, he put a code pad on 1 door and not the other. didn't leave the garage door openers. Owe him $200 but told him I wouldn't pay until he came to fix the issues, haven't heard from him since. read more

I called several places that turned out to be call centers before finding Jim at Door-tech and was thrilled to find someone that was professional, knowledgeable, and local. He was able to schedule the repair within our timetable and met his appointment. Jim was willing to work with what we had and did not require us to buy replacement parts through him since we had already purchased parts (although I wish I had just bought the parts through Jim). I would recommend Door-Techs to anyone and I am more than pleased with the level of service and very reasonable rates. read more

Jim is everything any homeowner is looking for in a repair situation. HE answers the phone, talks through your issue with a wealth of knowledge and patience and schedules the job in a more than timely manner. He is polite, fast-working, very neat and gets all issues handled- even smaller ones you might not know you had (like an unbalanced garage door). He even takes the time to educate you on your system or on any other questions you may bring up, should there ever be an emergency or uncommon malfunction. In a world where I cannot get most companies to return calls within the week, let alone make an appointment in a decent time frame, Jim is a breath of fresh air!! read more

Great service. Trustworthy company. Didn't try to up-sell me on the garage door opener I had them install. I wanted to support a local company and I was super happy with their work. read more

I live in Minnesota, but my daughter lives in Fountain. Her garage door was broken, junk and needed to be replaced. I was visiting and called a couple of garage door service companies. I was looking just for a "ballpark" figure as to either repair or replacement. Long story short is that one company was somewhere either out of the state or used an answering service to monitor and answer their calls. The 2nd company was local, but after finally reaching them, they continued to put me on hold while they answered other calls. After promising to call the next day and come out and give me an on site estimate, they never followed through. I found Door Techs and in one call received good information and a next day appointment to come on site and do an estimate and show me materials they use in their repairs and replacements. They followed through the next day in the a.m. and because I was leaving town in a couple of days, they gave me an appt. for the next day. Jim and his son came out as promised and within a few hours removed the old single and double doors. They had the new doors and hardware and old openers in place. and the junk doors loaded and the work area cleaned up. There was a pattern mistake in the single door and Jim made arrangements to come back in three days and replace those panels. He did this as promised, on time, and promptly. Jim and his son were professional, courteous, and at no time did they attempt to bait and switch or upsell me on any of their product line. The doors worked and looked beautiful, and the work area was cleaner than when they arrived to do the work. Payment to them can be cash, check or credit card. I highly recommend Door-Techs for any of your garage door problems from repair to replacement. I told Jim that if anyone wants to actually talk to me about my experiences with them, he can feel free to have them call me. It was a pleasure to do business with Door-Techs as they delivered their service and ;product as promised at a fair value price. read more
