Just moved back to Whittier and stopped by for coffee and a donut. The simple but detailed menu on the wall caught my attention. The first time didn't disappoint so I'm back and trying their #11, another hit! Pros: Friendly service, clean place, variety of drinks, snacks and delicious sandwiches. Cons: A little pricy with an average (breakfast) sandwich priced at $10.00+. Highly recommend trying this spot at least once.

It was my first time here and the whole experience was amazing! i love how attentive the staff is. they were very friendly and welcoming. lets talk CROISSANTS!! omg. sooooo good. i'm already thinking about coming tomorrow. they make everything fresh and cook to order. i got the number 11 with egg. YUMMMM!! the bacon was crispy and delicious!! they also have a menu on the left side of the wall with photos of what you're ordering. did i mention how big and filling the croissants are?? perfect morning meal! i found my new fav donut shop.

came here on a gloomy day but the staff were all so cheery and kind, my day felt so much brighter! the donuts are mouth watering. this was my first time in and i can't wait to come back. i have a habit of visiting the thrift stores nearby, so i plan to add this as my first stop. they even sell mini versions of some of the donuts! perfect to pair with a coffee!

I've come to learn oftentimes many shops only made enough that lasted during the morning time and then would've make anymore after that which I never understood. Was the multiple visits worth it!? OVERALL As elusive their apple fritters was at Donuts Express, I was exceedingly happy with my visits here and would definitely return for more! They served the usual menu assortment of food options (a boba drink was my next item to try), the apple fritter was very good, they weren't a 24-hour shop which was exceedingly hard to find these days, and I was happy to support a small business. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $6.50 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Not a big donut eater but they also make THE best breakfast sandwiches in town. Sausage or bacon with egg and cheese on a bagel. Or the larger served on a crossant. If you get the larger sandwich its huge and stuffed. You can't go wrong ordering either the bagel or crossant and I prefer sausage but my kids love the bacon on a bagel. Besides the excellent food the owners ar the nicest people and really take their time preparing you breakfast. Place is great and has alot of regulars so they must be doing something right. By the way when I was there one day, one of the regulars came in and ordered pastrami sub. While we were waiting I asked if he got the sandwiches often and he said 1 or 2 times a week. The turkey, pastrami, and the roast beef club he swears by. All this in a donut shop, Crazy huh. Oh yeah my kids love their donuts too. read more

Highly recommend this little shop for donuts and sandwiches but most of all their amazing customer service! They open early and make delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches! This is easily the best run of the mill donut shop in Whittier. The french crullers always come out light, soft, chewy, and delicious every time I get them. The thing I love about this place is that even when the place is about to close the donuts are still pretty fresh, unlike a lot of donut shops I've visited here in this city. It's too bad they close really early. read more

It was my first time here, but clearly, Donut Express is the place to be! Super friendly service with awesome smiles all around. While waiting for my bacon croissant, I notice how they were on a first name basis with many of their customers, which tells you that it's worth going back to. I got their chocolate and maple bars. They were some of the best I've ever had! Soft, moist, perfectly glazed... Yummy! Happy national donut day! :) read more

Love love love their donuts here! They don't offer all the crazy new gourmet concoctions. Just the regular stuff everyone's familiar with, but they are really very tasty. Perfectly-made. If you've ever had mediocre to tasteless donuts, then you'll definitely appreciate these. Never tried their breakfast sandwiches as I just can't see past their assorted donuts. Wanda and her family are incredibly friendly and literally know everyone who walks in. I highly recommend this place! read more

This place has the most best donuts. Their donuts melt in your mouth. They are very consistent with the yummy donuts. Im never disappointed. When I crave a donut I can always count on these donuts to deliver. And the extra plus is the service. The ppl working here all are super sweet. Very very friendly service. It makes me come back. Although I had to give the hyped up new famous donut place that just opened down the street from this placd a try I can definitely rest ashore that I will never try another donut place. Decided to come here based on reviews. My family was very satisfied. Doughnuts were fresh and very tasty. They did not have that oily aftertaste. They were moist and glazed perfectly. There where plenty of workers and parking was good. They have a more traditional selection, but they were very good. The lady who helped me was very polite and smiled the whole time. read more

This is such an awesome place!! The family that works here is so sweet, always welcomes us and make us feel at home! There are tons of regulars that come in and we are one of them, they always ask how we are doing and are happy to see us. Not to mention their food is great, the turkey sub and breakfast croissants are so yummy and of course their donuts are always fresh :) oh and the honeydew smoothie is to die for! If I could give them 6 stars I would, their customer service and quality is what sets them apart from other places. I'd choose this place over dunkin donuts or Krispy Kreme any day hands down read more

I got apple fritters, chocolate old fashioned, glazed, chocolate with custard filling, plain chocolate, raspberry jam filled glazed donut, chocolate with nuts, and chocolate bar. The lady was very nice. She gave me one extra donut. It was very sweet of her. The donuts were fresh, fluffy with perfect texture. The service was top notch. I will be back soon
