Stopped by this morning for a , egg and cheese croissant. It's on my way to work so I thought I'd give it a try. Worst decision I could have made. 5.45 for something I didn't even end up eating. I bit into it and immediately tasted something very off about it, I look inside and my egg is green. Not like a over cooked green but a fungal type green. This place says it's "fresh" I call bull shit. Who knows how long that egg has been sitting there. Pray for me y'all, I hope I don't get food poisoning. read more

I happened to walk in while waiting for my car. I saw all the 5 star sayings so I trusted my fellow yelpers for their recommendations. I have never seen a worst selection of unappetizing carbohydrates. Wow! They looked like they were leftover from yesterday - wrinkled and dry looking. The selection for 10am was tragic. 4 versions of the same donut. Cake or raised- just a different shape. I waited my turn for a few minutes and didn't get so much as a "hello" from the counter worker. There was another worker roaming around but I got no response from him as well. How have I missed this place?! I love donuts filled with light, fluffy whipped cream but I could only find them at Moodo donuts 25 minutes away. We came to Donut Express and left impressed. Alas! I found my donut 5 minutes away from home. My family also tried the sandwiches and they are by far the best we've ever had. The Tuna is literally made fresh on the spot. Highly recommend. A co-worker praised this donut shop for their breakfast sandwiches, cream puffs, and friendliest service in town. I agree on the first and third. The second I'm sure is based on preference but cream filled anything here is good, just a bit heavy for my liking. Breakfast croissants are awesome and huge. They ask if you want mayo. Ask for jalapeños to kick it up! Donuts are some of the best I've had. Crispy crusts and soft inner layers. Perfection. Some of our faves are the twist (I imagine the traditional glazed donut is just as good), cinnamon roll (again, huge!), blueberry donuts. They also carry blueberry donut holes which is great for sharing but I actually prefer the regular blueberry donut. It's crispier on the outside. Coffee here is also good. I haven't been here as often as some of the patrons who get called by their first names by the friendly staff. However, I've been here when it's slow, steady, and when there's a rush. So we have been trying to eat healthy but needed a treat and decided on donuts. Being from the East Coast I was just going to get a dozen at Dunkin Donuts but after a bit of a debate, we decided to try Donuts Express, especially after reading the reviews on here. All I can say is I am IMPRESSED! When you walk in, you are immediately greeted despite the fact that the place is packed. The woman who waited on me was so incredibly nice and attentive. Her little girl was there and was super adorable too. Anyway, I ordered a Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Croissant and a dozen donuts; I told the woman to just give me an assortment of whatever is popular. The croissant was ENORMOUS, so incredibly delicious and oh so filling. But of course, in order to do a proper review, I had to try a donut too. I opened the box and decided on the chocolate cake donut with the chocolate glaze. The donut was delicious, miles above Dunkin Donuts. DD should be ashamed of themselves when compared to Donuts Express. Now I haven't tried any of the glazed she put in our dozen, but the cake donut was so perfect. Had a bit of a crunch from the nice crust but still super soft inside. The flavor was amazing. I can't say enough about how delicious it was. So, I'm sorry Dunkin Donuts, my East Coast heart still loves you, but this is the new place to be. Oh! And a dozen donuts is only $7.95 - two dollars cheaper than DD and the donuts taste so much better. I just can't say enough good things about this place. read more

I LOVE this place! Its a tiny donut place in a little plaza off of Whittier Blvd, right before you hit Mills. I saw it on yelp and decided to try it since the reviews were so good. I was not disappointed, quite the opposite, this place is truly a hidden gem. We went in and got a dozen donuts and they were delicious! They open at 4AM and we got there around noon so the donut selection was pretty slim but even so, the ones we purchased were amazing and tasted fresh. They were crispy and not overly sweet. I began coming back regularly for donuts and coffee and recently ordered one of their breakfast sandwiches. WELL, those sandwiches made me fall deeper in love than I already had! Everything was fresh and done right in front of me. I saw her put the croissant in the toaster oven and crack the egg. The sandwich was delicious and way more reasonably priced than one at Panera or something. I will continue to come back because this place is a real find. read more

If there's one thing I've learned is that small business owners tend to have the best customer service. And this place is the true definition of that exactly. From the moment you walk in you're warmly greeted by whoever is on the cash register/kitchen. I come here mostly for the croissants & sandwiches. The BLT here beats Subway any day! The ingredients are super fresh, there is actually flavor in the deli meats they use unlike other places. They also have cut up fruit cups for sale so it's always a charm to stop by for lunch. read more
