Before I stopped in, I had assumed that breakfast at Donuts Delite would be limited to donuts (duh) and breakfast pizza (Salvatore's). I am happy to have been wrong. The donuts are creative and the breakfast pizza is delish - but so is the rest of the breakfast menu. I really like the pancakes and the hash browns (they are the kind that look like flattened tater tots. Yum. As an important and added bonus, the wait staff is excellent. We eat out with two toddlers - which is always an adventure. I feel as if the servers were on our team. This really makes a hug difference. And, To to it all off the high chair we were given was freshly cleaned! (This happens more seldom than you would think.) Nothing wrong at all with this place. What's not to love, Pizza and Donuts. The two best foods in the world. The only food groups you need in life. Two words. Cannoli doughnuts. OMG. I live in Buffalo but was in area visiting a friend so I knew I needed to check this place out beforehand. We used to love coming here, but I think this was our last time. Not only was my order wrong, but the service was horrible. My husband had to track down the server to tell her my grilled chicken parmesan wasn't grilled. She never came to refill our water glasses or check on us, except to drop out food. The manager was borderline rude when we expressed our concern about my order being wrong and me not being able to eat with the rest of the family. A place where I can get two of my favorite things. Pizza and doughnuts. My girlfriend brought me here while we were visiting Rochester and I was very pleasantly surprised. Stopped by here after over a year of wanting to try it. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't really amazing either. I will say that they have some pretty cool donut flavors and it's fun to try the different types of donuts, but the donuts were a little dry and sort of pricey. We paid $7 for a half dozen which to me, is a little steep. Also it sort of takes away from the ambiance of the place when they randomly sell pizza there as well. read more

I have always loved Salvatore's. When I first moved to Rochester 8 years ago, I would get my slices from Salvatore's for $2.50. We recently went to donuts Delight/Salvator's and paid over $4.00 for a slice. Meh, I love good pizza but I love good prices even more. There are plenty of times I drive straight past Salv's and hit up other pizza spots because they are cheaper and you get more for your money. Remenber when they had wing specials, you got 15 wings for $5.00. Now I do realize we live in a time of constant inflation, but with a successful chain I think they could be more competitive with their prices. I am glad to see Donuts Delite open again. Overall, the atmosphere was inviting for a cup of coffee and a donut. I did have the "flying saucer" and the recipe seems to be the same...a great donut. I do miss the old counter and donut shop feel but appreciated the waitress that refilled my coffee. How unfortunate, to think that during lent it was not possible to find a hot cross bun in the house!!! Twice I visited Donuts Delight and twice I was dissapointed. No, I did not go at an odd time but rather what I believe to be prime time! Sunday morning at 11am I was told they were sold out and would not have any until Monday. So Monday @ 8:45am I drove across town only to be dissapointed once more. I was told they sell out fast but 8:45am!!!!! Some of the best donuts I have ever had! They are high quality, packed with filling and absolutely delicious! My personal favorite was the Maple Bacon but there wasn't one donut that I tried that wasn't amazing. This is a must try for sweet lovers, donut fans, or anyone who just loves good food. I'm going to start by saying that when I'm buying donuts (which isn't often) I don't really consider price at all. To me, donuts are a serious splurge so if they also happen to be pricey (as some folks suggest) I don't really mind. I just want them to be tasty...and these donuts are certainly tasty! I've tried several varieties and have yet to be disappointed. While they might not have a vast selection of donuts, they do get pretty creative and offer a much better selection than your run of the mill Dunkin' Donuts or even Wegmans. I'm not sure that I can pick out a favorite but the raspberry filled, chocolate covered donut is out of this world! I also like the frog donut (a pink cream filled donut with green frosting that looks like a frog), the german chocolate donut, and the peanut butter and jelly donut. I have gone to Donuts Delite for breakfast multiple times. Each time is a hit or miss. I've had experiences were the food was great and the service was exceptional. I've had times were I had to wait 45 minutes for breakfast when the place was not even full and had my 1 year old received eggs that were not fully cooked. Also there was a time when they gave me a high chair that didn't have a strap so they gave me a donut box to put behind my child's back. Even though sometimes I have a nice experience there, I will not go back. Having a 50/50 shot of getting a nice breakfast is not worth it to me. read more

Very disappointed in the level of service and follow-up on credits for damaged package ordered . Recently relocated to Charlotte, NC and celebrating my birthday and wanted to share some good food from Rochester with friends and family. My sister ordered 1 doz. fresh canoli donuts from Maggie at Donuts Delite on 9/10 over the phone at a cost of $60 including shipping. She was reassured that the order would be properly packaged and would arrive the next day. Unfortunately when the donuts arrived the donut box was crushed and an extra donut that was requested was not properly packaged and was also crushed. The donuts were clearly not packaged correctly and looks as though they were hastily placed in a shipping box without proper packaging. My sister called Donuts Delite and spoke with Nick (Owner) and explained what she received and took pictures of the mess. Nick did not offer a refund until my sister pressed for a solution at which point Nick agreed to credit the method of payment back to my sister. Today is 9/22 and have yet to see the credit and after repeated voice mails to Nick have not heard back. We have informed American Express of the issue and will be disputing the charge on the credit card and was informed that AE will do it on our behalf. A simple apology and goodwill would have avoided this post , but Nick obviously did not feel it was needed. read more

Donuts are great but very expensive. Love the Salvatore's inside but they don't always make items the same as the other locations. Their antipasto salad is not as good as the one on East Main St. The older woman who works the front area is not very pleasant. But all of the waitresses are very friendly & attentive. I was extremely disappointed on my last visit to Donuts Delite. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and it arrived cold. I spoke to the waitress with our concerns twice, and she apologized, but you would have thought the manager would have come out to address the situation. He didn't, which is concerning for someone running a retail establishment. She did take $4 off our bill and gave us a couple of free donuts, but the guests we brought with us were first time customers to whom we had spoken highly of Donuts Delite. After this experience, not only do we have egg on our faces, but I am quite sure the other family will never return. Disappointing. read more
