I love this place they have fresh donuts! The staff is very kind and I have been coming here for years!

I've been going to Donut Wheel my entire life. It's where my family picked up birthday and Christmas morning donuts. When I see the Donut Wheel sign, I know I'm home! You can't go wrong with any of their donuts. They're always fresh! It's been fun to see them evolve over the years. You can now order custom donuts (custom decoration, message, and sizes) and they also have themed donuts for the various holidays. But if you aren't feeling the special donuts, they also have a great selection of the regular/standard types of donuts. They're open 24 hours a day and located downtown, so it's hard to say "no" if you're in the area. They have a basic selection of coffee/juices/teas. read more

My coworker has brought donuts to work from here SO MANY TIMES and each time is as magical as the previous time. I generally don't eat donuts unless Krispy Kreme has a good deal going on, but when I heard donuts were in the office... I pounced. And I ate. And I had the most glorious mornings with my coffee. I've yet to make the in-person trip over here, but I've seen their Instagram and can appreciate them practicing COVID-19 safety guidelines. Back when they were open 24/7, this is my go to place almost twice a week to get their fluffy donuts. But, since the pandemic hits, I go hear early so that I could get their chocolate glazed donuts before they run out at the end of the day. I would never get tired of it. Though theirs are smaller that what usual donuts in some other place, theirs are addictive. I walked by Donut Wheel countless times, but I never stepped foot inside until a few days ago! We ordered a dozen donuts, mainly chocolate, glazed, and chocolate with sprinkles (for the kids). I always go for the either the cruller or old fashioned. Even at 8pm on a Tuesday, it's still moist and delicious. It's a diabetic nightmare, because the donuts are SO DANG GOOD - moderation is the key, people! The staff are always polite, but do not speak much. Cash only. Donut Wheel is my all time favorite childhood spot growing up. We would get it from breakfast; we would get it for lunch sometimes. We would get it for snacking in the middle of the night because they never close! We always get a box or two on road trips as well. It is a old shop now but never gets old in my heart. For just $10 you can get a baker's dozen of donuts. Can't find that anywhere nowadays! I love love love love the hot plain old fashioned all my life! It's doughy, it's dense, it's slightly crispy on the outside but there's something about it that is very addicting to me. The original glazed and the donut holes are great too. Always flavorful. The Donut Wheel has got it down with the perfect combination of salt, sugar, dough and fried just right. They are best when they first batch comes out and consumed right away. The staff here are always sweet and helpful. They use to know me by name and face in my younger days but I've became a stranger every since I moved away. They old lady still works there. She's not the friendliest person but I've known her for so long; I honestly vouch that she means wells. All and all; This place still has that great old-time-feel to it. These are the best donuts in the TriValley area! I took them for granted when I used to live in Livermore. I moved to Dublin and haven't found a donut that comes close to Donut Wheel! Theives!!! I came in on feb 8, 2023 at 11am for a chocolate bar donut. They cost 2.05. I paid with a 20 and the woman at the register gave me 17$ back. No change! if you want a 3-dollar donut and also to be stolen from go to donut wheel. No doubt the chocolate bar costs 2.05 just so they can pull this trick as often as possible, and since it is cash only, I cannot chargeback either. read more

I know my buddy Emmalouise just reviewed this place and mentioned she didn't have much luck getting the donuts she wanted but, last night, the Gods must have been on my side because I left the Donut Wheel with a smile on my face. My wife and I walked in the wheel just after 9:00 pm and were promptly greeted. I asked about their red velvet donuts and the proprietor told me he was just adding frosting to a batch that just came out of the fryer. I ordered a bakers dozen, the red velvets included and headed over the hill, home. At the house, I made a quick pit stop to wash up then, headed to the kitchen to try out these raved about donuts. The donuts were fresh and moist. I had two and couldn't help notice that their donuts didn't give me that donut after taste that normally last a few hours. Donut Wheel has really stepped up their game since the beginning of SIP. While other businesses has closed their doors, Donut Wheel has innovated themselves and become a household name for the community. I can't say for sure if they're new or if I just never knew about them until now, but they're offering giant donut cakes for birthdays, graduations, or any kind of celebration you could have! They've gone above and beyond to provide free donuts to first responders during the Shelter in Place and donating gift cards to local events to help support the local high schools and more. Beyond being a 24hr local Livermore spot situated in a historic building downtown, they're also a friendly, warm, and enjoyable breakfast experience. Ohh, and it doesn't hurt that they have the best vanilla sprinkle cake donut in the bay! I can't rave enough about how thankful I am to have them in my local community! read more
