Popped into Digby's while on a bike ride (hey, I worked off some calories, I deserve a little splurge, right?), they're tucked away on the outer edge of the San Ramon Marketplace. Even around 11am on this weekday they still had a decent selection of donuts. I got a blueberry cake and it was great! I called around 11:30 AM from Oakland to see what they had left, and the young woman who answered the phone was so friendly and helpful. She didn't rush me at all! Instead, she kindly listed everything they had available and even offered to set aside a box just for me so I wouldn't miss out. That kind of care and hospitality is rare these days! The donuts were exactly what I was craving: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. No grease, no old oil aftertaste. Just light, sweet, classic goodness. I'm a bit of a traditional donut girly, so I went for the original glazed and the cinnamon twist. Both were absolutely delicious. The shop itself is super cute, clean, and inviting. Sadly, the customer service and quality have gone downhill. We recognize the need to increase costs at this time... That's more than fine. But when you have provided a perk for more than a decade of throwing at least a couple of donut holes in on any purchase of more than one donut, and then not only do you take it away, but shame somebody for asking about it, it's a really bad look. Maybe put up a sign that says due to price increases. You can no longer offer the traditional amenity of a few donut holes with your order... Don't shame somebody for asking about it. If you are expecting to be busy, make more. Don't continue to raise prices and take away perks, and then blame the person who's buying the donuts for asking about it. I have been a Digbys customer since the Whole Foods was on Alcosta. It's very sad to see them like this now. Oreo raised donut (4/5) - a little doughy, but the amount of toppings on this donut was plentiful! Fruity pebbles raised (5/5) - this was a personal fave of mine!
