Use to love their donuts and come here all the time. As of late all the classics are severely undercooked and mushy. Glaze, maple, maple bar, chocolate round. They are super busy now so maybe that has taken a toll on them. Donut Queen is our happy place when visiting Vacaville in the morning. We have had a couple of donuts dates in the parking lot with the grandparents and cousins during COVID times. The quality is great, the service is friendly, and there is always at least a small line indicating that we are not alone in enjoying these treats and staff. Recently, the owner even authorized a pre-order on a busy Sunday morning for my daughter's birthday. We really appreciated them making this accommodation despite not usually taking orders in their busiest day. Love this donut shop! I went yesterday for my 2nd time, and they didn't disappoint. There was a line but staff there is efficient as ever. It probably took me only 10 minutes to get in & out. They also wear masks & use gloves , so I felt safe ordering my food from there. I got the dozen special assortment and couldn't be happier! These donuts used to be so dense and moist. Heard about the new owners and the gripes of how they aren't the same so I wanted to see for myself. Went today to get a custard filled donut. Thought I'd gotten lucky and had the biggest custard donut I'd ever seen but nope! Took a bite and discovered it wasn't dense but it was also hollow! A giant cavernous-hole air-filled donut with a tiny dollup of custard. Look at it! It's almost laughable. They are no longer dense. I picked up donuts through Toogoodtogo App the other day for the first time ! They put like 21 glazed donuts in two small paper bags. Guess what ! Everyone in Vacaville says this is the best donut place in town, and they wouldn't be wrong. Their service is super quick, so even if the line is going out the door you won't be waiting ten minutes. On top of this, they're working hard behind the counter replenishing the donuts that are selected the most like maple bars. Even when they were out of maple bars they had a couple fresh and frosted by the time I got to the register. A really efficient establishment and they deserve all the recognition they can get. They're located in a small ish plaza so make sure you try not to come at peak hours of the morning because their parking is competing with the popular journeys coffee nearby. As far as quality, it's as good as a standard donut gets, and price is cheap because they're donuts. Just be cautious that they also serve other items that aren't as cheap as the donuts. read more
