I stopped at donut land, and got a dozen donuts plus a cinnamon roll. Definitely a buzz around Cleveland is this is the best traditional donut shop, open 24 hours and now in this mega location, a former Rite Aid drugstore. The place is clean, almost to the point of being sterile. They have a mega selection of donuts, with full shelves at 4 o'clock in the afternoon that's a pretty good sign. I personally ate a glazed nut doughnut. That was very good but a little frustrating because big chunks of the glaze and nut fell off so it was pretty messy. Still really good. Then later on I had a chocolate glazed, which was moist and also very good. And then even later I had a powdered sugar chocolate cream filled. Donut Land always hits the spot. The donuts are always fresh and plentiful. I've never walked in to find them run out of any flavors Cake donuts, raised dough, fritters, bear claws. It's all classic and delicious. No weird, trendy toppings or fillings. Just good old fashioned donuts. We also just tried their donut cake recently. I didn't expect to like it, but it was fantastic. this was my second time into Donut Land and boy was it amazing! my first time in I was a bit rushed and did not know what to expect/order but I remember it being awesome. this second time in I really got to try a bunch of what I wanted to try and everything was DELICIOUS. WOW! The place is a small shop with everyone being the friendliest people on the planet. There is maybe 1-2 tables on the inside if you chose to sit but not much room. They also offer coffee and drinks for the full donut experience. They have SO many donuts and all are AMAZING! They have classic yeast donuts to classic cake. And they even have specialty donuts like a strawberry cassata long john and so many more for just a small upcharge. I brought the dozen home and everyone was in love. A dozen of donuts is a great price for the assorted options they give you. They offer donuts that you will not see everywhere such as toasted coconut, cherry cake, buttercrunch (a favorite), and so many more. All the donuts were awesome, and the fillings were flavorful without anything tasting artificial. The sour cream donut was AWESOME and definitely one I was not expecting to love as much as I did. I also got to try the specialty donut that day which was Buckeye and it was fab - the peanut butter cream was perfect without being too strong. If you go here you MUST get the apple fritter. OK, can you go wrong with a 24/hr donut place? The answer is no, no you can't. The turnover is pretty steady so you're not getting stale and old donuts. They are fresh! And most importantly delicious! We go to Ohio Pie then go get donuts for dessert. This place is always hopping and always good. I've had about 2 years worth of all types of donuts so I thought I better comment. The chocolate and vanilla cremes are good not too heavy with the filling in terms of stiff sugar. More gooey and soft when you bite into them. Custards are good too. Soft and filled. The place is super small. Best to take out. They have 2 tables and a table outside but really just get your donuts and you can eat them in the car or at home. Car donuts are good but can be messy. So beware. LOL! I know donuts don't always make it home. Staff is mostly teenagers and prices are about average for most donut places. All good. Worth a try if you're in the area and want some good donuts. We love old school donut places and sadly the ones in our area are shrinking to the size of a breadstick for long johns. We were driving two hours to get donuts so we wanted to place an order to ensure the ones we wanted were there. We got a pushback indicating they wouldn't do them for anything but specialty donuts. Lucky for us that was our entire order but it didn't start things off on the right foot and it still sounded like she didn't think we needed to place an order. Luckily the trouble up front was worth it. Since it was our first time we tried a little bit of everything. Unfortunately no creme subs which is what drew us there so they suggested an apple fritter instead. I'm always leery because I've rarely had one that didn't taste like apple chunked oil. This was not only flavorful but a good amount of spice which is unheard of. All of the creme sticks (not their long johns since those are different in our region) we FULL size as they should be and the maple actually tasted like maple which is also rare. We were considering the drive the very next weekend. We'll have to save up and get a double order so we can freeze some. We'll definitely be back! Donuts were amazing tasting and quite large. The cinnamon roll may be one of the biggest I've ever had. The apple fritter was incredibly light and fluffy, even a few hours later when I went in for round 2. Onto the bad (my own error). The shop is small on the inside and has a weird layout with the register right at the front door. This causes a little bit of a traffic jam at the front. I walk in holding my son and get a little flustered navigating around some other people paying. With some other folks standing around, I wasn't sure when/if it was my turn to order. More customers came in right after me and turns out, I was up. I wanted a half dozen and started ordering from what I saw. 6 fancies later, I notice the giant wall of donuts behind the workers. It's definitely not hidden but easy enough to miss in my flustered and rushed state. I will say some places don't up charge for fancies, but here I basically bought 6 donuts for double the price of a half dozen. Super legit old school donut shop. Not only do they have a huge assortment of flavors, when I was there, it was over 30! They also make the best apple fritters and cinnamon rolls. I don't know how they do it but the donut has a slightly undercooked or gooey texture and are perfectly glazed - not too much or too little.
