This is near my regular takeaway restaurant and I was curious about this place. I looked online and found out it's a good place to try donuts. I'm not a big donut fan and someone gets these to office all the time. After waiting and thinking I had to get one of them and I made a good decision. This place knows how to make a donut! I had a coworker pick-up a dozen and drop them off to me (gee - thanks!). When I opened the box, my first thought was "they are SO FLUFFY"!!!! I mean it, blissful balls of sweetened puffy dough. (Or should that be 'do' like 'donut'? Doesn't matter.) The pictures just don't do it justice for how amazing they look in real life. Every single person who was lucky enough to have one said just how amazing they were, and they all asked where I got them. Thankfully we work right down the street, so a few will be making visits from now on. I tried the toasted coconut cake and the glazed old fashioned. Both were simply to die for. I drive past this place daily on the way to work and decided to try it out. I arrived around 1:00, so the selection was likely thinner than usual, but I was able to check out the blueberry and red velvet cake donuts I'd gone there for. The donuts were moist and flavorful and the service was prompt and courteous. I was, however, immediately turned off by the grubby appearance of the place. The product was nicely displayed, but the floor was very dirty, as were the windows. There was nothing charming or inviting about the decor, as though no one had given it much thought. If the owners want to promote it as a cozy neighborhood spot to hang out, it needs a lot of work. Would suggest they check out the interior of Craft Donuts in West Dundee for inspiration. Don't know that I'd visit a second time. read more

I hate to be the party pooper on this love parade, but I think Donut Drop could step it up a little. I was so excited when I saw all the pictures of all the awesome donuts on Yelp. When I came in, there was barely anything left. I don't completely fault them for that since they close at 3 and I came in at 1. I ended up getting 2 donuts - 1 jelly filled, and one mint chocolate. When I first bit into the jelly filled, there wasn't any jelly. It was only in half of the donut. The mint chocolate did not taste like mint at all. I didn't really taste like chocolate either. Just a bland cake donut.They also need to label their selection. I had no idea what anything was. The staff is very nice, and the inside is quaint. There are board games to play and plenty of places to sit and hang out. The prices are great too. I want them to do well, but there need to be some improvements. read more

These are the best donuts we have had in the suburbs. We were wishing that they would open a Stan's somewhere out here but we found this place after enjoying the donuts at a coffee shop in Wheaton. The old fashioned is perfect, and the vanilla donut was awesome as well. We will probably make the 30 minute drive to Donut Drop instead of settling for Mariano's or Jewel's. Wow - this place is AWESOME. I brought these into work and EVERYONE loved them. These donuts taste as great as they look. The only thing they could change is to have all the flavors available first thing in the morning but I accept when you are getting food that fresh and tasty not everything can be ready at once.
