There are some great positives to this Donut Delight location in Norwalk, CT. First, its easy to access off the main street and enjoy that it has a drive through. The prices are cheaper than most local shops for the coffee and they have a variety of donut / pastry options that are decent for an on-the-go-grab. Parking is generally easy to find in the large lot and the service is very quick. There is limited seating so its not the best area to meet up with others or sit down easily especially if its on the busier side. They were all out of double chocolate doughnuts, how the fuck do you run out of your best donut and you're open 24/7? I ordered: Boston cream, chocolate glazed, and a glazed cruller. What I got: an eclair (with barely any filling) and it all went downhill from there. I then tried the cruller, disappointing texture not at all a classic cruller shape the flavor wasn't bad but nothing special. Then I had the glazed chocolate donut that was just okay. I stopped in here today right around noon while passing thru. I had not been in years. I was shocked at how bad the service was! The server let me stand there and ignored me for minutes. Finally, I approached the counter to ask permission to order. He could not understand me in English nor in Spanish. He could not even repeat back what I said in either language. After I finally got my order in, he couldn't count the change. That became a struggle. Then, he handed me a bag and I made the mistake of leaving the counter without looking inside. I despise gourmet donut shops and fear the day they will be my only option. Nobody can complain about a donut that is under $1.50 because some gourmet shops sell donuts for $4.00!!! FOUR whole dollars, people!!! So...when I come across a genuine donut shop with cheap donuts, I can't help but smile a devious smile because I feel as if I am scamming the owners. I used to frequent this one when I lived the area a couple of towns over (commuted down near here...); stopped in the other day while I was traveling through to Westchester. It's a local (Stamford and Norwalk) chain that does the trick if you crave some carbolicious fat bombs. The glazed are good as are the Bavarian Creme...and unlike the Dunkin chain these are not pre-frozen to be warmed up at the store. Fresh counts...and on that note the coffee is good too. There are some darned good muffins too if the donut thing isn't your bag. As far as this locale...keep an eye for it...a little tough to see amidst a heavy swath of commercial stuff on Route 1. It's down towards the Darien side of town...if you are staying at the Doubletree nearby its a good place to stop in... read more

UPDATE: To the team of donut delight, please stay consist of with my order. When I am paying for extra cream cheese on a bagel, please put in extra cream cheese. I hate driving to work and realizing that this is not my order. Also, there have been a few times where I wanted a raisin bagel toasted with extra cream cheese and it was neither toasted, nor with extra cream cheese. My receipt states extra cream cheese and I've paid for it. (May I add, when I go to a bagel/breakfast sandwich place, I never have to ask for extra cream cheese. They load up the bagel with it. That's how bagels are supposed to come.) I hope you understand! I want to keep coming here. Sorry guys but I had to update my review. The donuts aren't fresh anymore. The coffee has no flavor. Lots of small mistakes. Like not adding extra cream cheese when I pay for it. I love this location. Very, very friendly staff. I especially love Jessica she is amazing. She isn't always there, but when she is, she is on point and there to make you feel special and valued every step of the way. They have a big parking lot (shared with bowling alley). They are open 24 hours a day. They have one of the best blueberry muffin's I've ever tasted and also have tons of options on their menu from Chai teas to Cold brew coffees and cream cheese bagels or chorizo egg and cheese sandwiches. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they don't have different cheese options. (eg. yellow american, cheddar, pepper jack) and around 4am or 5am pastries are usually unavailable for a short period of time. read more

I'm so happy that Donut Delight has a location in Norwalk. Every time I order via drive thru, my experience is positive. I get exactly what I ordered, the staff is friendly and everything tastes great. The best part is that when I order a bagel from drive thru, they are happy to toast it for me EVERY time. The Stamford Donut Delight would always refuse to toast my bagel lol, even when there were no cars behind me... Norwalk Donut Delight is much more customer-oriented and accommodating. What an absolute joke of a establishment that sells bagels. Donut delight, while not having high hopes for ordering a bagel, absolutely met my low expectations. The main issue was the use of the Philadelphia cream cheese cups for the cream cheese on the toasted bagel with regular cream cheese. Management should address the issue as soon as possible. I'm not sure if the vendor relationships but I question the economics for purchasing cream cheese cups. This gives CT a bad reputation with bagels. read more

Right by the Double Tree, I went here for breakfast instead of getting overpriced and mediocre breakfast at the hotel. Entering in the shop, it reminded me of a less franchised version of Dunkin Donuts. I ordered a coffee roll and a everything bagel. To my surprise, the coffee roll was fluffy with a yeast-like bite. I fairly enjoyed it, especially with a large cup of hot black coffee. The roll was pretty enormous and only cost around $1.50! I didn't eat the everything bagel until the next morning and it still tasted good. I had many great bagels in NYC and I have to say, Donut Delight might not be better, but it surely didn't disappoint. Overall, I was highly impressed with the quality of the carbs here. I love this donut delight! I would be here every day for lunch when I worked at Staples. That little walk down the hill was the highlight of my day! Their chicken salad is literally everything! They make chicken salad sandwiches like no other! They dont just throw some spread on a bagel they add cheese, onions, tomatos, peppers! It is really a good meal and i think it is only around 4 dollars. They also have banging peppermint mocha lattes in the winter time! The service is always good there, however their regular coffees are pretty generic. I wish they would add that little something extra. On the other hand though their rainbow sprinkle donuts are my fav! You will never get a mediocre baby donut with like 6 sprinkles on it from them. That donut will be beyond loaded with shots! Being from a place that only had two name brand options for drive thru, I immediately loved Donut Delight. I come to the area a few times a year and always get a breakfast sandwich and coffee here. While the wait is a little longer than the name brands I mentioned earlier, my experience has been quick and easy. I high recommend their cold brew coffee and their different flavors of cream cheese. Tried this new place because it's near my house and the line in drive thru was short - but once I got my stuff, I realized why it was short. I got a bagel and an iced coffee which cost me about $6.50. The sign said $3.50. Then they told me it was with hot coffee only. Then I asked to get a iced coffee and the young man gave me the "i'm going to spit in your coffee look" -but luckily he made it right in front of me. Anyways - what a rip off. I'll stay with dunkin donuts who don't charge so much extra for ICE. RIP OFF. but regardless - the coffee was good. Just don't know if I'm bias now because I felt ripped off. read more

The donuts were larger and more heartier that Dunkin, but not something that I would go out of my way for. In the end, it's nicer than Dunkin, which is a great if you're around the area.
