Decided to stop by and get some breakfast sandwiches, coffee and donuts before the beach. Service was prompt although a bit dry. Is a very small place so makes it hard and a bit awkward to order when there's more than 2 customer at a time. I got a steak and eggs on a croissant with an iced coffee. My sister got a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. We both found or sandwiches to be delicious. I loved the strength of the coffee. My coworkers got me donut crazy for my birthday. I have also been there on my own. The Branford location is small which was unexpected but not a big deal. The donuts are good but extremely filling. This is newly opened in Branford next to T Mobile & SportClips. They offer unique donuts in cool flavors, coffee, and sandwiches. We got six unique donuts which cost $15.90, so not cheap, but definitely fresh & delicious! I'd recommend going with family or friends so you can try different flavors. This spot is unlike the other location we have visited in Shelton, there is zero seating, no seating which is the only reason for my one star detraction. This place isn't terrible, meaning we ate our donuts, but we definitely didn't finish them. Will we go here again? No. First, you walk by the display, have to remember all of the donuts you want while you go down this passageway and wait in a looooong line (Saturday at 1030, got lucky and got the last parking spot out back, had to walk around to the front). The Boston cream chocolate icing was a little off, and the filling was not the temperature I'm used to. Same with the canoli one, the donut istelf was the softest, but the marscapone cream was not cool, it was room temperature, which was weird and made it taste spoiled. The PB donut has pb puff cereal, which was stale, with pb on the top that was just pb (they didn't do anything w it); however, the PB icing that sticks the PB cereal on was good. It'd have been better without the stale cereal. This donut was $4. Not worth it at all in my opinion. The Nutella donut was also $4. We were expecting more than 2T of Nutella sitting in the middle of a plain sugar donut. We were surprised to bite into it and see that that was all the nutella there was, and that they didn't even do anything creative like make it a whipped Nutella. It was just Nutella. This place is overpriced, with ordinary ingredients that need to be transformed. We were excited to try it, but we just won't go here again bc we know there are better donuts for better prices. I stopped by here soon after Donut Crazy opened there Branford location. I was impressed that they were open after a bad snow storm. The donuts looked amazing. So creative and tasty, but they are better off as works of art to be admired from afar than in your mouth and stomach. I slowly ate the donut over the course of a few days because it was gigantic and not as good as I expected. It was so large I had to use a fork and knife to eat it. I think that my dissatisfaction had to do with the extremely high sugar content of the peanut butter covered donut that I tried. Overall, I thought that the donut was just too sweet. The cream filling was pretty much sugar. The Recess cereal was a nice touch, but cereal goes bad quickly when exposed to air. The pieces lost their crunch. Candy pieces would have been better. The chocolate donut base was ok. It was dry and had a very thick sweet glaze. I would try a more simple flavor next time. Krispee Cream knew donuts are best served fresh. I think that principal should apply to all shops. Disclaimer: I didn't have the donut right away on the day I got it, which I should have done because donuts go bad fairly quickly, but I expected it to be a little fresher than it was when I ate it. read more

OMG!!! 1st I had no idea this place even existed until I got a coupon in the mail for $5 off an order from DoorDash & looked up what restaurants & places I could use it at. Then this place popped up. when I look to see where it was I almost fell over since is literally across from the TD Bank & next to LoMonico's restaurant, The Big Y shopping center all of which I frequent all the time. You would not know it's there since the sign isn'tt that big. I went on their website they have 6 locations in CT. They're open daily & literally open until about 6-7:00 p.m. I decided to actually drive there today after looking at the menu. They open at 6:00 a.m. on Sundays I believe they open that early on most days. I offer of donuts in tons flavors / varieties. I also make breakfast, have the homemade muffins, scones as well as bagels and a few other items. Their menu is quite extensive even lots of beverages hot & cold. It's not a huge place on the inside. you order a dozen donuts you get too free and it's not like you get to plain glaze donuts They let you pick what you would like. You literally feel like a kid in a candy shop when you walk in there. I was there around 6:30 this morning since I'm originally from Long Island so on a Sunday AM down there most places have lines out the door but the shear amount of donuts they have in stock is unreal. They get them delivered every morning from the West Hartford store. They don't actually make the donuts in that location But they do have a grill since they can make eggs, bacon, sausage. Things like avocado toast w/ eggs for breakfast. I honestly had a hard time picking out a dozen donuts. I'm definitely going to be heading back. They had simple donuts such as vanilla, chocolate & strawberry frosted w/ sprinkles. To donuts like coffee cream puff donuts that actually had cream puffs in the middle of the donuts along w/ extra cream puff filling & such a delicious coffee taste. Their cannoli donut was out of this world. I also had a raspberry cheesecake brownie donut that was a chocolate glazed donut that had raspberry cheesecake piped around the top of the donut & raspberry sauce drizzled around the top of that and then a little square brownie on top of that. They had so many donuts that kids would like & of course grown up kids like fruity pebbles, caramel M&Ms. They had an amazing stuffed cookie dough donut. I took photos & did my best to label what was in each row. But definitely check out website. Like I said doordash does deliver & They always have plenty of donuts. The woman who help me said that even up until closing there's a decent amount left. After seeing the photos I think you will definitely want to go buy a few. They will also be getting some Easter ones & some other flavors for the holiday. There are specific donuts they have every single day that a call "Monthly Crazies" but any much have the majority of those every day until they change them. Believe me you will not go wrong take a look at the photos I did not cut any in half when I do I'll post more. I plan on picking some up the day before Easter as dessert for my niece and nephew since they gave up chocolate & sweets for lent. This will be dessert. Stuffed, topped, sprinkled, frosted and fried oversized delicacies that are so bad yet soooooo good. Although the donuts are made in a commissary ejsewhere in CT, the bottom line they are fresh, innovative and delicious. My first visit today to the new Donut Crazy in Branford. Why? Because it's New Years Eve and what's better than champagne and gourmet donuts to ring in the new year with family and friends! My personal fav is the Cannoli Donut-beyond fantastic, it's like a giant cannoli cloud, if you love Cannoli, Im talking top of the line, Italian bakery cannoli, you must go if only for this delicious stuffed cloud that fell from Cannoli heaven! If you add the great dark coffee it's killer! Fair warning -when you walk in, you will be overwhelmed by the zillion choices like carrot cake, Samoa (yup tastes just like the Girl Scout Cookie, Creme Brûlée's-will make you cry! I have not tried the food menu yet -but the "donut burger" and "Coffee Milk" more than peeked my curiosity! The staff will actually entertain you, so funny and friendly! A bonus is great parking and-this place does not close at 2PM stays open late! It's a shock once you realize how bland the big chain donuts are in comparison. The donuts are behind a guarded glass, safe from wind, bugs and curious hands. They look good and have plenty of unique and classic donuts, however you must really be a donut person to truly enjoy what they offer. They were good, for donuts. Their coffee is some of the best I've had around the area. There is a NITRO BREW that is served chilled and appears as if it comes out of a tap. We were driving back non stop from Florida to Massachusetts and only had a couple of hours to go until we were home. We decided to stop and get some tasty treats for the family. At 7 am the staff greeted us with warm smiles and knew exactly what each donut was made of, so picking was quick and easy. We started eating our 1/2 dozen before they could close the box. Amazing donut!!! I got the oreo donut which was great! The donut was so choclately and good and the oreos on top added an amazing crunch. Donut crazy! I've been exited to come in here for a while. The sign outside has tempted me from the moment they opened in January. When you first enter the establishment, you're greeted by glass display that seems tower over you when you first enter. Their assortments of donuts are crazy! They have a section of donuts that by definition look crazy, with candy toppings and exotic filings. Beware! They're more expensive! If it's your first time there, the guy behind the counter will explain that though. Regardless of the donut you chose, they are BIG and dense. I couldn't eat a whole one alone. They're donuts are good but they're coffee from tap is to die for! I ordered a nitro coffee and it surpassed my love for Starbucks coffee! I wish Donut Crazy had a drive-thru!
