This place lives up to the hype! First, it's beautiful. The interior and patio are both great places to hang out. Everything is very fresh and clean, and super accessible. There are 5 large accessible spaces in their parking lot, so they didn't go with the bare minimum which is much appreciated. Yes, it's off a main road, but out back on the patio you're looking at an expanse of woods so you kind of forget about it. Their beer is delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed my IPA, and my husband was a big fan of the lagers he had. They do great pours of them as well. It was quiet while we were there early in the day, and service at the bar was very friendly and quick. This is a great brewery to just hang out with some snacks and have a few fabulous pints!

First time here. Very helpful and attentive, took time to explain about the brewery, products, and all drink choices. The indoor space is very nice and the outdoor area is part a well-manicured lawn that has a few different types of games and an area for the daily food truck. They have electronic space heaters, which will come in handy in cooler weather, but I've never seen heaters like these. Today, they had a cooling fan blowing under the umbrellas. I had a sour, another had a lager, another a glass of wine from a local winery and another had their homemade alcohol seltzer base with added melone syrup. They have several flavors that can be added to the seltzers. All of the beverages were very solid. I'll definitely be back!

Sunday afternoon. One more stop before we head home. We were in the area for NE tacofest. Caius was a nice way to end the day. Clean and quieter. Beautiful establishment! High ceilings, plenty of parking. They offer free popcorn and they had snacks. I wish they had food! There was a ramenntruck outside but i don't do ramen.

Great variety of beers. Today they had a choice of three sours along with 12 other beers. Casual, airy atmosphere inside. Service has always been prompt and friendly. Plenty of private parking with EV charging stations. Dog friendly too.

Really enjoyed our first night here. The space, both inside and out, was spectacularly beautiful with lots of functional and artistic details. While we did not have time to get something to eat on this visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our first drinks. I highly recommend the sours! Mine was spectacular, truly one of the best I've ever had from a local brewery. It's also worth mentioning that the two gentlemen we chatted with behind the bar were really friendly, like exceptionally friendly! Knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Just great hosts for this beautiful little spot!

Great stop on our way home from visiting The Pez factory. Very clean and fresh looking facility! The staff was amazing and friendly and willing to explain their beer and pouring system to me. The beer was tasty, tasty and refreshing. Wide variety of excellent beers. There is no food, but they had an excellent taco truck on site that we also tried. We will definitely try to get back and try them again!

Loved this place! Gorgeous building and really great indoor and outdoor seating. The bartenders were very knowledgeable about their beer and offered lots of information and guidance for ordering. They had a pizza truck there that day which is always great for a brewery. The space has a really comfortable and cool vibe. You instantly feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Bathrooms are squeaky clean which I always appreciate! We all really enjoyed the outdoor patio and definitely loved our beers. We can't wait to go back!

Caius farm brewery is a relatively new brewery and it's a nice addition to the beer scene. The venue is nice and modern and usually gets packed pretty fast, but there is also outdoor seating for the nice weather. I really enjoy all the light beers like the Pilsner and lagers. The beers are nice crisp and clean easily crushable for the hot weather. I also like how they are one of the only few breweries that adjust the foam level of the beer to how you like it. the IPAs here are not bad as well but I have had better. I like the nitrous out here bonus for popcorn. I would recommend this place and definitely be back.

My husband, who is a particularly big fan of German-style beers, had been wanting to try this place for more than a year. We finally made it down from Rhode Island for our anniversary. The building and beer garden were both beautiful, but it was the beers that were the stars. My husband had half pours of the Vitellius (an altbier and his favorite of his selections), Aurelia (a Kolsch-style ale finished in Sauvignon barrels, my favorite of his), and two others. I went right for the gusto and absolutely loved both my choices -- Elagabalus (a bourbon barrel aged Imperial stout that was thick, dark, complex and absolutely decadent) and Ovidius III (a fruited sour that reminded me of raspberry jam). The staff were wonderful and we truly enjoyed our visit. So worth the 1 1/2 hour drive! We'll be back

Caius Farm Brewery is a craft farm brewery that opened in Branford, Connecticut in March 2023. It was founded by entrepreneur and head brewer Caius Mergy. In addition to degrees from both the Master Brewer program at the Siebel Institute in Chicago and the Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany, Mergy also has a master's degree in Classical Archaeology from the University of Oxford. He came up with an idea to open his own brewery that had a theme centered around his archaeological background. Mergy obtained a property that once been home to the historic Daniel Baldwin House. The most recent use of the property was a farm that ceased operations in the early 2000s. Mergy built a brand new building on the property that not only drew inspiration from the old farm, but also from traditional Roman meeting halls and German beer gardens. The brewery's connectivity to the landscape has been maximized through the regeneration of a small hop yard, edible landscaping, fruit trees, and as a home to beehives to produce honey. All of these ingredients are used in the brewing process. My family and I recently visited Caius Farm Brewery for the first time. The building is a Roman Basilica-style barn that houses both the taproom and the 10-20 barrel brewhouse. A German-style biergarten is right outside. We decided to sit at a table inside. All of the beers are named for and inspired by important historical figures from Ancient Roman culture. Although Caius does not offer sampler fights, they do offer short pours. I ordered short pours of "Hortensia" (Southern German-style Pilsner), "Livia" (Pale Ale), "Arminius" (Robust Porter), "Brutus" (IPA), "Catullus: Citra" (IPA), and "Cleopatra" (New Zealand IPA). Everything was great, but "Catullus: Citra" was my favorite! We also ordered some pizzas from a local pizza truck that was there that evening. They paired nicely with the brews! I had a nice experience at Caius Farm Brewery and I look forward to returning!

Enjoying a glass of Ovidius:BBB whole relaxing in one of the comfy Adirondack Chairs on a beautiful, but a little chilly, early Spring day.

Great beer in an amazing space! Different than the typical New England style beer and they always seem to have something new.

It's the best brewery in Branford. The beer is great, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and rotating food trucks. Dog friendly too.

I could drink a full pour of either, which is rare on any occasion with a sour.

This place seems really awesome, but I heard it's even better in the summer with their outside…read morespace. The bartenders and servers were attentive and friendly while making great suggestions. We got the nachos with pulled pork (they had run out of brisket **sad face**) and the portion was MASSIVE. The picture I included was after 4 adults already ate some of it. The only downfall is when the band started playing, it was WAY. TOO. LOUD. You literally had to shout to the person next to you, even though we were a good distance away. It might help if they put the band in the far end next time and not in the main corner. Other than that, good service, good food, good drink, good times! P

What a fantastic place!…read more Right on the water in Coastal Connecticut just east of New Haven, with ample outdoor seating, Stony Creek Brewery is an ideal summer-time destination for excellent craft beer and a solid/creative menu of pub fare. We were here for an event: The start and finish of Bikes & Beers 2024 (Brandford, CT). Bikes & Beers tours the country year-round, offering cycling events that revolve around--you guessed it--breweries. Over the last few years, we've enjoyed weekends away across New England when they come to our corner of the country. Their events are very well organized and fun, with a portion of the proceeds going to local charities. Plus, there's beer! After our 30-mile ride in and around Branford, we joined the other riders for the after-ride event at the brewery for food and fun. That's the formula for all Bikes & Beers events. Back to Stony Creek Brewery. As I said, the setting is idyllic for a warm, sunny summer day. However, you'd find limited indoor dining/drinking space on a rainy day. I enjoyed their seasonal IPA (the only beer I drink) and found it exceptional. My better half had the grilled chicken sandwich to satisfy her hunger while she ordered a chili dog for me. IT WAS HUGE (and delicious). We didn't get to try the other interesting items on their menu, but our fellow riders said good things about theirs. Plus, a permanent guest food truck serves wood-fired pizzas that look and smell fantastic. My mouth is watering as I write this. I'm not sure when we'll be back, but we bookmarked this location so we can have a similar bikes & beers experience on our own someday. We liked it that much!
