My last optometrist, who is no longer practicing, was excellent. When he retired I didn't think I would find another doctor even close. In walks Dr. Bisek. He is thorough, takes the time to answer and explain your questions, and he tells you why he's doing a certain exam and what he's looking for. He shows you the inside of your eye while he's explaining what it would look like if you had some sort of disease. His office is clean and his staff (Diane) is knowledgeable on the insurance procedures and she's very kind. Dr. Bisek is an excellent optometrist and I highly recommend him. read more

I love how COVID cautious this office is. I have been going here since I was in the 8th grade and I am now in my early 30's. Diane has always been a staple at the front desk. She keeps meticulous records, maintains a friendly office atmosphere and always makes sure to call and check for upcoming appointments. I used to see Dr. Bisek regularly, but now I see Dr. Serby. He's always fun to talk to and I walk away feeling well informed about everything he does to check my eyes. While I don't purchase my frames here because they are pretty expensive, I do appreciate that they take VSP and I always feel welcome when I visit. read more

My family have been patients in this office for many years, and although there have been a few annoyances along the way, we have maintained loyalty since the staff tended to be thorough and helpful. Even when we'd show up to pick up an order to find a "sorry we're out to lunch" sign in the door, we'd grit our teeth at the inconvenience of traveling across town and come back later. Yes, this happened more than once. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Our recent experience was pretty frustrating though, resulting in all 3 of my family members taking our eye care needs elsewhere. During the height of the pandemic, getting new glasses wasn't a priority, but after a long while, my husband scheduled his appointment. He asked me to leave work early to meet him there to help him pick out frames after his exam. I arrived to a lock door. When staff opened the door, I was told I couldn't come in due to COVID protocols requiring that I have an appointment. I explained the reason for my visit and was met with a hard "no." Considering that I work in public education and my husband is a first responder, we are VERY aware of concerns related to COVID. Nevertheless, we engage the public daily with a spirit of customer service and common sense mitigation protocols for safety. Costco was happily willing to serve our eye care needs, without all the hassle, and for less expense. Dr. Bisek will continue to lose patients for taking this approach. Mask to mask transmission of COVID is regarded as incredibly low-risk based on guidance from the Department of Public Health. Locking out the spouse of a patient when no one else was in the waiting area makes absolutely no sense. If this were their protocol, telling the patient in advance would help to manage expectations and avoid these types of situations. I was planning to schedule my appointment when I visited that day, but instead I went to Costco. Costco has incredible hours, great service, and cheaper prices. read more

I don't write reviews often, especially negative ones but, I'm genuinely disappointed. This review is specifically about Diane, the receptionist. I've been a patient of this office for maybe 4-5 years and have never had an issue until one week ago. I have an astigmatism and learned about astigmatism (toric) contact lenses! Excited, I called the office to request an appointment for a contact lenses evaluation. Diane answered the call and stated she would leave my file for the doctor to review so he could see if I was a good fit for lenses. Just about two days went by and I hadn't heard back so I called. Diane answered and explained that they had been extremely busy all day and she didn't see my file in the patient cubby earlier in the day but she will check now. She gets back on the phone and states "Doctor said you are not a good candidate." Ok... I ask why, wanting to gain some more information. She flatly says "I don't know" and then listed off a general reason which is not what I was looking for unfortunately. I asked her to please ask the doctor why I wasn't a good candidate. I wasn't fighting for an appointment, just wanted to know why. She let out a huge sigh, obviously inconvenienced by having to do her own job and said that she'd have to ask the doctor when he got back into the office the following week. It is now Wednesday (I called last Thursday) and I call to get an update. A different receptionist picks up, who was very kind but I was quickly transferred to Diane who said that Doc is only in the office twice a week, coming in at 11am and that's why I have not heard back. She goes on to say he will not fit me for contact lenses because it will not correct my vision. Huh? She didn't have an answer for me last week but somehow before the doctor has even arrived into the office (remember, he comes in at 11 and I called around 10:30) she's saying that is what HE said. Before I'm able to ask if they offer toric lenses I'm told by her that I'm more than welcome to take my glasses prescription elsewhere to be fitted for contact lenses. Finding a new optometrist is the last thing I wanted to do since I enjoy being a patient of Dr. Searby but I honestly felt like me being a patient at this office was no longer wanted by Diane. I work in a hospital, specifically the ED and I never want patients to feel like they can't ask questions when all they're trying to do is gain an understanding of their condition. Being your own advocate is so difficult when people like Diane are working the office. If you don't like your job, change it. Kindness goes a long way. read more

I have to give the doctor 1 star because he doesn't realize that his staff is screwing his business up. While dr. Bisek was good, his rude, ignorant staff will prevent me from recommending him. I was with him when he first had his first child, back in 1996, and his staff was good then. As time passed, they really didn't give a shit about accommodating the patients. I don't know if the front office lady was pissed at his status but it affected his business after that. Dr. Bisek, get a better staff and your business will be 1000% better. read more

At 35 years old I have been seeing him since I was 15/16 years old. I have moved several times, over several bridges, and have only strayed once. THAT was a huge mistake. No one has the knowledge, patience, selection, and affordable price points that Dr. B has. An added bonus? The ladies that work in the office. They are amazeballs. They hold nothing back, yet deliver their opinions delicate and professional when one asks. They are not pushy saleswomen attempting to reach a quota. Dr. Bisek has been my optometrist for over a year now. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. He and his staff are always friendly and helpful. He is also very knowledgeable and willing to try newer technology. Which makes my visits more enjoyable. Dr. Bisek was able to verify my prescription. I indeed had astigmatism. I had glasses and was able to get contacts. He showed me the difference between the regular soft contacts versus the torque contacts. I ended up using those from then on. Eventually I decided to do Lasik and Dr. Bisek approved. He referred me to an ophthalmologist who did my surgery and all went well. A day after my surgery Dr. Bisek even called to see how I was doing. That shows me he cares about his patients. Overall Dr. Bisek is my go to optometrist. I definitely would recommend him to others. Also a great peck is Dr. Bisek is approved with VSP which is my vision insurance. read more

Our family started going to Dr. Bisek in 1986! Yep, that's right. My daughter had another optometrist in VV but she had ripped her contacts and being basically blind without them, we call her dr and he could not fit her in that day. It would be a couple days. To me a dr. who cared knowing the severity of her eyes would have done whatever to get her in. We started calling and a Dr. Bisek could fit her in and would do so. He fixed her right up and since that day, we all go to Dr. Bisek. We have seen office staff come and go. We have seem him marry, have children and we think he is tops. Dr. Bisek is a great eye doctor! He actually informs you of everything he's doing during the exam. He's very nice as are his staff. Their eye exams seemed pretty advanced to me! If I could give this doctor 0 stars, I would. Down to his lack of integrity and horribly rude, cold staff deserve straight zeros. I went to Dr. Bisek because I was referred to by a family friend...BIG MISTAKE. The only reason why I went to Dr. Bisek was because my optometrist was an hour and a half away and wanted to find someone closer but now I know better. I'm not sure how long he's been in practice but apparently not too long to make the mistakes he made in my eye exam. When I saw him, I noticed my eye exam was significantly shorter and not thorough like it was at my old optometrist. This lead to the wrong prescription, glasses with the wrong prescription, headaches, and feeling dizzy for TWO MONTHS. When I decide to make the trip to see my old optometrist to figure out what's wrong with my eye sight, he tells me I've had the wrong prescription and my eye glasses are too strong. I inform Dr. Bisek and his ever so pleasant staff of this matter and they offer to fix my glasses for free (which they do) and offer another eye exam after I had visited my optometrist (uh, no. If you didn't get it right the first time, gave me a headache, AND dizziness for TWO MONTHS, not too keen on giving you a second chance). When I pick up my glasses with the correct prescription, I inform his ever so diligent and pleasant staff that I'd like to speak to Dr. Bisek in regards to paying my $40 bill for the eye check up at my old optometrist. Apparently they think it's super professional ignoring this request until after four times I call back to speak to him. I get a hold of him and he tells me that he isn't going to pay my bill because I should've gone to him to get my eyes re-checked...after giving me a poor eye exam. I also, got blamed for my poor eye exam for "forcing my vision" and/or answering the questions he asked me in the exam incorrectly which lead to him giving me a faulty eye exam/perscription-SUPER! Also, before the whole faulty exam fiasco I informed his staff that I didn't have an extra pair of contact lenses and needed something to see esp when driving in the daytime and night while my glasses were in the lab since I was having headaches from forcing my vision. They didn't care and were not accommodating. They told me it was going to cost me money to even be seen and they didn't have any appointments in the near future to get fitted for contacts, I called my old optometrist and they had contacts for me ready THE SAME DAY AND FOR FREE.
