Food wise .. really good and pretty much satisfies your stomach ..portions are decent .. Now the ugly. Where to even start .. The place is a dump . I mean it's outdated , and just plain old disgusting. The bathroom is dirty as well. The owners are really nice but this place needs a few hundred thousand dollars to renovate the place. It has a great location and the potential is there I've tried their burger ( decent ) and donairs ( just like anywhere else ). I can see why there's never anyone there ..which is sad. I made an account just so I could review this place, since awful places tend to get a far better ratings than this place. I've been going to this place for quite a while. I get the same thing every time and it has been great every time as well. The portions are huge, the onions and sauces are fresh, and the staff know exactly what they're doing. Yes the place could use some renovating but I am there for the food, and not to enjoy the scenery. Kebab places like to fill up the kebab with unnecessary greens to lower the production cost of the kebab - this place gives you a heavy portion of meat with just the right amount of peppers, salads, and sauces. read more

...meh. Middle of the road donair from a shop that could use a little TLC. As the sign behind the counter so eloquently poited out; "This isn't Burger King. You don't get it your way. You get it my way or you don't get the damn thing". I guess I shouldn't be too surprised... Stopped by early on a Sunday afternoon. I've beendriving by here for years and figured they deseved a chance. Decor is very dated. Everything is faded. Needs a good cleaning..paint...and updated decor. But hey...it's about the donair...right. Well alas...that wasn't too hot either. Literally. It was luke warm. Veggies were...ok. Meat was seasoned allright but was not as hot or juicy as it could be. Sweet sauce was mediocre. Pita was fresh enough. I also had to try their Donair Egg Rolls. Pretty bland. Cup of garlic sauce on the side seemed greasy...and also pretty bland. All in all... Not impressed. There are several options not too far away...all of which are much better. Points lost for decor, sauces, temperature and underwhelming flavor. If this weremy local shop... The staff are super nice. The service is fairly quick depending on what you order. There's a decent selection of burgers, subs and donairs. The donair meat is pretty good and has a slight hint of spice. The portions are huge - which is to be expected with donairs. I'm a fan of the burgers! I read people saying it's overpriced but the burger combos are only a couple of dollars more than Mcdonalds and they are bigger, plus you get to put whatever toppings you'd like on it. Open late, so it's a good place to go for those midnight snacks. read more

WORST DONAIR EVER! What a complete joke! As you order your food you see how the food and toppings aren't covered and are drying out with bugs also flying around uncovered food. How nasty! My favorite donair spot in Edmonton. The staff are mostly friendly. There is usually only one guy working so there the service can be slow if it's busy. Usually it's pretty quiet in there except late nights on weekends. But if you're in there at that time you're probably too drunk to notice how long it's taking to get your order anyways. The donairs here are Amazing.They don't have that generic donair taste that a lot of places in Edmonton have. Cheese isn't included in the price for some reason but only a crazy person (or lactose intolerant I guess) would get a donair without cheese so it seems like a strange choice but the prices are low enough that it doesn't make much of a difference. The building is quite dingy and it's hotter than hell on a cold day. I can't even imagine what it's like in there on a really hot day. Must be like being In a furnace. The paint job looks like it came straight out of a 70s interior design magazine's vomit themed double issue. The bathroom is clean though at least and you're not going here for the looks. It's hard to imagine how anybody would find out about this place if they don't live in the area because it's right in the middle of a large mostly residential area on the east side that isn't really close to anything and it's unfortunate because a large portion of the city probably won't ever get to experience this gem read more

I was definitely impressed with this place! I'm pretty loyal to World's Finest and Prime Time Donair, but when I found myself on the northside, and craving donairs, this is where I was lead. The man that works there is adorable. I'll be honest, sometimes I didn't understand what he was saying, but he had the biggest smile the whole time and he was pretty funny. We ordered a large cheese donair, a regular cheese donair, a large fries, and a side of sweet sauce. Total was $24.00. Not too bad at all. It's essential to me that a donair place serve crinkle cut fries. I don't know why. But that's what I like... and that's what Donair stop gives. As another reviewer stated, they do slice the meat awkwardly thick. It didn't bother me though. The meat was juicy and spiced perfectly. He steams the pita after he puts the cheese on, so the cheese melts... which is not the norm, but an interesting change. Veggies were all very fresh. And he did something that in itself will make me come back often..... he cut the tomatoes into strips before putting them on the donair. Strange? Maybe. Brilliant? YES! I often skip the tomatoes all together... see, I have a bit of a gap between my top and bottom teeth, so sometimes I have a hard time biting all the way through things (go ahead and laugh...). About 3 years ago I was coming home late from a show, and I was craving something greasy. I pulled into a 7-11 on 98 ave., and noticed this little spot at the end of the strip mall. I thought, "This HAS to be better than 7-11..." I was right. This is now my "go-to" for donair in Edmonton. The gentleman who owns and runs this spot is very friendly, and seems almost always to be there. The donair meat is cut thicker than most places, and is juicy and delicious. Vegetables are fresh, and pitas are steamed, to melt the cheese, which is also unique. They also do burgers and subs, which I am told are good, but it is the donair that lights me up. I do not recommend the fries... They seem to be an afterthought, and they are fried straight from frozen, making them a little soggy. Also to note, I have been in once or twice when there is a surly, younger fellow working, and neither the service nor the food was quite as good. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Used to be good 3y ago. Now they have new owners.... The meat is overcooked, veggie containers all have other vegetables in them. The portion sizes are huge and it's exactly what you would expect from a donair, flavorful meat, fresh vegetables, on a pita. The food was OK. The meat was average but the toppings were a step up including green AND black olives, pickled turnip, etc. The fries were cooked fresh but came out soft instead of crispy. The donair itself was sadly dry. With everything I had on it it should of had 2-3 times the sauce. I couldn't even taste it. Years ago when it was located on 50th street where top donair is now, it was awesome. Huge portions and they always gave you exactly what you want. Even a few years back it was still pretty good. It used to be my go to place, untill I noticed a huge difference in portions. The taller guy that rides his bike is still good if you ask for extra, but the new guys that they hired are aweful. Went for a donair poutine on New Year's Eve, he barely put any cheese, and got annoyed when my girlfriend asked for more, and I had to ask him for extra sweet sauce three times, untill he actually told me I COULD NOT have any more. Absolutely horrible service. If you wanna charge me an extra dollar, so be it. But don't tell me I can't have any more. And I happen to know that the owner of the shop drives a jaguar, so it really pisses me off that he's getting his employees to be so cheap with the ingredients to try to save money while he drives around in a luxury vehicle. Place is a mess, bathrooms are gross, and they won't make your food the way you ask. Only reason I ever go there still is because it's open later than simply donair.
