We went today, a Saturday just after lunch and the atmosphere was horrible. I counted 57 children under 5 years old and 42 adults. This was nothing more than a glorified Day Care with a beer garden. If you want to go to a place where children are crying and creaming endlessly...this is your place mid day...perhaps the evening is better? We will never return.

My favourite sandwich is turkey with brie and cranberry which they had. The sandwich was massive and tasted amazing. It was packed, full pieces of cut Brie with an amazing seasoned bread. It was everything that I expected from my favourite sandwich, which was met. I was going to give 4/5 due to the price, but after thinking, I pretty much didn't eat much for dinner because of how full that I was from this sandwich, and thinking about what a touristy place Deep Cove is, and with the amazing views, I changed it to 5/5 since the price is justified. Definitely coming back if I am in the area - might be the best turkey, brie and cranberry sandwich that I've had.

We arrived right around 12:30pm, which I imagine was peak time, so all the tables were full and there long line to get inside. But the line moved fairly quickly so we only waited maybe 10-15 minutes. Once we placed our order, it probably took them another 10-15 minutes to prepare. There is a good selection of sandwiches to pick from, so it was difficult to decide, but I ended up ordering the La Foret Royal. The first thing they mentioned was that it could get cross-contaminated with meat, which I didn't mind because I'm not vegetarian/vegan. However, if I was vegetarian/vegan I would imagine it would've been a turn-off. I ate my sandwich in the park. I was starving after 2 hours on the water, but despite that, I thought my sandwich was so-so. It was certainly huge, and they are generous with the ingredients. But it didn't amaze me. I felt it was stuffed with so much ingredients, no single flavour really stood out for me. In fact, I took half my sandwich home, and when I re-baked it, I felt it had better flavour and texture at that time because their house-made bread was warm and slightly more crispy, and I could reduce the ingredients to better bite proportions. I liked they had a nice selection of chips and drinks. Staff were also very nice. Overall, I have mixed feelings. The place is a nice fit for Deep Cove. Sandwiches make a great picnic option and they fill a definite need. The sandwiches are a generous size, and could easily be split between two people. In terms of flavour, I didn't find it particularly special, but on the other hand, I enjoyed it much more when I reheated it at home. I'd be willing to try again to see if I picked the wrong item on this last visit

I didn't know the washroom was at the back at the rear side. Because the cafe was very busy, there was no toilet paper when I walked into the washroom. Staff were very nice and helpful, but my personal experience was just okay. I could've got something better than Matcha Raspberry Croissant.
