    Corn Tortilla Chips with Salsa
    Marco P.

Wifey and I have eaten at plenty of Mexican restaurants over the years in Maryland. Since we moved to Marion a month ago, one of the movers suggested we check out Don Sol. Off we went. Starting with the restaurant itself, the decor and ambiance is excellent. Server brought out the standard corn tortilla chips and Salsa. These were a little different. Freshly made, warm and a great Cilantro based Salsa. Possibly the best I've ever tasted. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, rice and black beans; my wife got the Sol Cheese with chicken, rice and refried beans. The food was excellent and seasoned just right, and the drinks flavorful. Our dessert Cheese Flan was great, too. Server was very friendly and professional. Price was not bad, either. Definitely a Mexican restaurant we will be visiting again in the near future. Highly recommended.

Ordered two tacos ala carte, and a large blue moon draft. Cost was a little sleep for the beer, and the total was $17 ish. Service was incredibly quick and friendly; food was great. Clean & bright inside!

So we picked this place out from Yelp reviews. So if you are reading this you are the reason we went here. We picked a city and Mexican food. And picked the best based on your reviews. Worth the drive. I almost never give restaurants at five star rating but this one was worth the drive and worth every dime we spent. Both of us full with take home for about 35$. I usually try to think of something funny to say but we were hungry and this place was freaking amazing. The food came out fast. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and it was the same chicken used in several dishes but it was season differently with other things to make them individual to that dish. The service was prompt and the restaurant was clean everything worked like a well oiled machine. The tile interior reminds you of an authentic Mexican restaurant. It was loud but it was a very busy time on a Sunday. The outdoor eating area looks appealing but we were there on a 93° day. So it would be very nice at night. Definitely check this this place out.

Very boring food. No spicy pizazz. Not authentic at all. I'm from San Diego... I KNOW Mexican food! I won't be back that's for sure!

I didn't take any photos during that trip for this review and since everything about Harper House said, "Come on back and get some more." we decided to get back up there for another round. Reservations were for 7pm and we got there a tad early, but were seated promptly and probably right at 7pm...I wasn't checking my watch. We started off with a basket of their fried pickles (last time we started with the Group Grazing Board, but we had more in our party). They came out from the kitchen quickly and there's a really good portion for the price. They weren't as crispy as they could be, but they were really tasty. They came with a house made ranch dipping sauce that was just what we expected...ranch sauce. They did bring out some of their house cornbread as well with strawberry butter. I'm not a fan of cornbread all in all unless it comes in muffin form with cheese and jalapenos to eat with some pinto beans...but this was good. Had a hint of sweetness to it as well, which went well with the strawberry butter. My wife ordered the 7oz center cut filet mignon but she subsituted the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts for Harper House Mac-n-Cheese and Crispy Red Potatoes. Initially, the filet came out slightly underdone, but they quickly made it right. She really liked it, said that it was exactly what a filet should be...and the peppercorn demi glaze made it that much better. I ordered the ribeye and kept the sides as is (baked potato & thin cut crispy onion strings). This was a super flavorful cut with an insanely rich, bold flavor and just the right amount of fat marbled throughout the cut. If you live right there in Cadiz and haven't been to Harper House, head over there to grab a bite. If you live down I24, you owe it to yourself to make the 30 minute drive and give it a shot. It's well worth the trip.
