We tried this place for the first time, We got the menu in the mail and noticed the prices were not too bad and free delivery which was refreshing. We ordered the linguine and meatballs with tomato sauce, Tortellini alla vodka, garlic bread and cheese and the 6 zeppoli. Delivery did take a awhile but I realize Saturday night is a busy night so It wasn't the worst thing. When we did get the food, we noticed the plates were filled with adequate product but then I saw their was 2 small meatballs with a large plate of linguini . The pasta looked very old and the sauce had no flavor and appeared old. No presentation, no greens on top to color the dish. Everything was bland. I make better meatballs. The same goes with our other pasta dish. The garlic bread was not crunchy and had to pull it apart like licorice. There was displaced and minimal cheese on the bread. Nothing was freshly made. Never tried this place but thought I would give it a go because on seamless seemed that reviews were okay. Should have cross referenced on Yelp. Ordered our meal and it was due for delivery in 35-45 minutes. 1.5 hours after placing our order, the food finally arrived (we are a 6 min drive from restaurant) cold and mediocre at best. The pasta dishes are delicious and plentiful! We had the broccoli rabe pasta with shrimp and the linguini carbonara with grilled chicken and it was SOO TASTY! We ordered garlic bread with mozzarella and my family ate it so fast I only got one piece. We ordered the food for delivery on UberEats and it arrived hot and fresh! Today we ordered a pepperoni pizza and a sausage and mushroom pizza with two orders of sautéed broccoli rabe and 6 garlic knots. The pizzas were DELICIOUS! The pizza crust was thin and crispy! Take out Date: December 13, 2014 So my family had a holiday party on the 13th. They ordered pizza from here and from Gino's. I managed to snag a Sicilian slice from this place in the chaos that ensued once the pizza arrived and my food loving family gathered in the kitchen and dining room to grab pizza. I'm the polite one so I had to snag my slice and be as nice as possible. The slice was good I wouldn't go crazy over it but I definitely wouldn't hate it either. We place our order at 11:25 and it arrived at 12:55. I spoke to the restaurant twice asking when it was going to come. The first time they stated it would be there in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I called again. The food lacked flavor. We order shrimp parm and the shrimp was dry. The stuffed shells looked like a mess, it appeared that they overcooked it. We try to support local businesses during tough times but this restaurant has to do a much better job. Honestly was not expecting a great meal as the delivery minimum price was low and their was only one dollar sign assigned to Don Giovanni's (I usually associate the cheap price with mediocre food) but we were pleasantly surprised! I ordered a Greek salad with chicken and the tortellini soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was extremely flavorful. The salad was what I was expecting! The chicken was fresh. My boyfriend ordered the tortellini alla vodka and he could not stop raving about it. The sauce was flavorful and the meal was perfectly portioned. They also gave him a medium sized loaf of Italian bread to go with it which is always appreciated. I used to order from here so my wife can have a gyro when the rest of the family eats pizza. She needs gluten free and even gluten free pizza's are not good for her. The Gyro was never that good as they make it very thin, almost like a cold cut. It is sort of like waiting for something good and then getting a wedgie by the entire St Louis Rams offensive line. We've been loyal customers of this pizzeria for 2-1/2 years ordering 2 pies weekly. We do not like a well done pie and always remind them when ordering. The last couple of times we received a well done pie and said nothing, this time we called to request a new one. Three people got on the phone to argue with me in raised voices to say "the pie wasn't well done, it was crispy". Last friday we really wanted some pasta and thought lets give this place a try... so excited to try the online ordering feature. Pretty disappointed with it though. On two of the dishes we had added in the notes to substitute for a different type of pasta. The substitution was not done and we were not informed that there was no substituting allowed. In addition we has ordered extra anchovies on the side and never received them. Overall the food was pretty tasteless: eggplant calzone, puttanesca and linguini with bolognese sauce. They also did not offer to provide any sort of sauce with the garlic knots or their pepperoni bites (the latter definitely needed something to dip it in!).
