D'Anna's has been around since 2000. It 1st opened when I moved to Elmont and attended High School in the area. My mother ordered from their regularly on Pizza nights. This is not the best Pizza in the area but it is good. D'Anna's is known for their delicious Garlic Knots. They also stuff them with pepperoni. Many pizza shops just roll dough together and throw some crushed garlic and they call that a Knot but it's NOT! (See what I did there :) D'Anna's Garlic Knots are packed full of flavor. Fresh parsley and Garlic. The knot itself is soft as a pillow and baked fresh. I recently visited when my daughter begged me for a local slice. Elmont is a Italian neighborhood, however, it's hard to find great pizza. So we stopped in. I ordered a buffalo chicken slice. It was packed heavy deep dish style with chicken breast and buffalo sauce. Very filling. The Buffalo sauce was spicy how I love it. D'Anna's is a great place to stop by while in the neighborhood but the pizza competition is stiff in Elmont...let alone Queens.

This is supposed to be shrimp linguine but as you can see it is a tragic example. The shrimp are burnt and brownish. Like why?Shrimp are not suppose to look like what's in this picture. I'm just saying ‍ I always eat food from D'Anna's, mainly this dish. I never had a problem like this. Granted, it is New Year's Eve but preparing someone's food this way is quite distasteful. I will definitely not be returning to this restaurant for anything‍. The only reason I am giving this restaurant a star is cause I had to in order to write this review

We called after the shop closed (approximately 10:05pm) -- they took our order, but didn't let us know they were closing soon. Around 10:30pm they called to hurry us into the shop to get the food. We ordered a plain pie. It was good. I wouldn't drive out of my way to get it, but for something quick & local it was good. They also have a special on Monday nights for plain pies which are a good deal. I'd grab another pie when I'm in the area.

    two slices of pizza

Buffalo Slice was terrible. Packed heavily with buffalo chicken breast and weird strips of cheese. If you're craving a buffalo slice in the Elmont area do yourself a favor and stick with Gino's. It literally looked, and tasted, like old chicken breast was dumped on dough then slathered in a generic sauce with mini sprinkles of cheese. NEVER AGAIN!

Solid regular pies for delivery would order again. Great for a classic NY style pizza

Pizza was ok. The antipasto salad was not very good. The meats they used were low quality.

Amazing quality and value! Still great after all these years. All pasta dishes very generous with the proteins.

With that out of the way, let's get to what I got at this pizzeria. Since I had just come from Dario's, I decided that one slice would be good to get a feel of what KU offers. First off, the ambiance and look of the pizzeria is my favorite of the trifecta and the customer service is fantastic. I got the white slice and on the whole, it was heated to perfection, had a wonderful balance of mozzarella, ricotta and basil. Anywho, the taste of the slice was fantastic and I think this outclasses Umberto's and Da Angelo's white pies by a long shot. The display case had a great selection of wonderfully made pizza and other items for takeout. If you come here, you need to try their grandma pie as that it's claim to fame (I wish I could have it, but damn gastritis! ) I met Giovanni, one of the owners and he was friendly and loves having conversations with his customers and hope to meet him again. This has easily become one of my top favorite pizzerias on Long Island and will make the trek again, this time with my family in tow. Cheers!

Sorry I won't sound that way in this review. I don't jump on YELP to review right away unless something's really got me irritated and fed-up. The Ambiance is basic pizza place IMHO.. Plenty of tables and space. I've eaten pizza and pasta dishes for at least 65 of my 70+ years on this earth and worked in a pizza place during the late 70s-early 80's and I KNOW my pizza AND pasta, especially the sauce. Today's baked ziti and baked stuffed shells was literally out of this world, meaning it tasted like it came from an alien, possibly one of those we've been hearing about on the MSM news. It Was HORRIBLE! No, I don't have pictures because I do NOT have a cell phone or a cam. My wife does but she is not home today. Trust me, I do NOT knock pizza places unless it is well deserved, like this place. This was the 3rd time I've tried this place. The 1st time I ordered the same as today. It was delicious. The 2nd time I ordered a round cheeses pie which was a bit too well done for me, so not satisfied. The very 1st time I had just a slice or 2 and was very satisfied, which is why I went back. Today, I'm sorry I decided to stop there. It's a total waste of $27 as I can't even eat this. It looks and tasted like leftover food from last night. The stuffed shells were way overcooked. So soft that when I attempted to transfer to a big bowl, they fell apart. Too soft and the "ricotta" was not creamy or melted. It looked like ricotta does when it's gone bad. I was afraid to eat it, THAT'S how bad it looked. I did TRY it along with the baked ziti, but not good at all. So, you might wonder how the baked ziti was? HA! NOT GOOD AT ALL! The ziti tasted as it looked. Overcooked. Some brown "burn" spots on the mozz, (very little cheese) and the same "expired looking" ricotta. I tried a couple fork fulls but it tasted burnt to me. well done, burnt and dry. Sorry guys but this was horrible and unacceptable. This was to be for my wife and me tonight. Now I'll just make my own, which I'm quite capable of and KNOW it will be edible and much much better than the garbage I was given today. I would call but the convo would not be pretty since I'm in a rotten mood, so I am just writing it here. I won't waste my time or gas in bringing it back. This place is NOT around the corner. I was just passing by again so I figured I'd get some hot food. I should've stuck with the pizza. I mean really; how do you screw up baked ziti and shells? There's 3 ingredients plus the pasta. The Ricotta HAD to be bad to begin with and then the overcooking it compounded it - or vice-versa. I hate throwing away food but this is going in the garbage AFTER I get my wife to take a couple pics. Both meals are in a big bowl, mixed together since the shells fell apart and I THOUGHT maybe the ziti could be salvaged using some of the sauce from the shells but even then, it tasted horrible. Obviously, Enzo's is off my fav. places to eat pizza/pasta list. It does take the #1 worst ziti and shells spot though. So bad I wouldn't even want another order if offered. I'll take the loss. It's not the first time I've wasted cash. Live and learn. Calda, Positano's, Sbarro's, Gino's and a couple other places nearer to me have yet to disappoint, so I'll stay with them. So now, having just wasted $27 and annoyed at that thoughh it could've been worse, I'm going to drink my blues away with a beer or 3 and then I'll feel better - or fall asleep in front of the TV. If my wife takes a picture and we can figured out how the heck to upload it from her phone, I'll do that as soon as possible. EDIT: The bread given with the meal was also hard and cold as if ( again ) it was leftover from yesterday or even before then. But from what I recall about the bread, it looks a lot better than it tastes. I'll be throwing that out too.
