I was out doing deliveries looking for something to eat and found this location google. The location was easy to find with a huge parking lot. When I entered I was immediately greeted by staff placed my order. The location is pretty decent with several tables for sitting, televisions for sports, the pizza was delicious I was glad that I stopped there for lunch. I will be returning. read more

Close to our table they have a bucket with water and a rag to wipe down the tables. I have to say that the food was bland, no taste! We had a meatball dish that was swimming in a sauce that was bland, tangy and thin.The eggplant parmigiana dish had no taste and very bland. The fried calamari had absolutely no salt and bland, also the marinara sauce was tangy. Another great Italian choice in the Eastern Queens/Western Nassau area. I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, but now I understand why I was always the fat kid. So. Much. Good. Food. The sensible adult side of my immature brain remembered that she had pasta the previous night, so a chopped Greek salad with no onions and dressing on the side...plus grilled shrimp...was ordered. Dressing is always served on the side in a large, clean bottle. Now...take a look at the photo of my salad. That's the SMALL size. 'Twas huge and delicious. I didn't even add any dressing; it didn't need it. By the way, any of the salad options can be ordered as chopped. Tack on another star for that. Others at the table had bolognese with whole wheat pasta, another bolognese with rigatoni, slices of sicilian pizza, veal parmagana hero, soup (forget which kind) and another chopped Greek salad (including the onions). Gino's Pizza in Elmont Queens NY has been my go to for pizza for a very long time and they do make excellent pizza!! Gino's isn't just for pizza, they are also a restaurant with a trifold menu and therefore must act like a restaurant and not just some fast food place. Btw, ask your cook to drain the spinach before placing it on the diners plate along with the mushrooms and shrimp--my meal was swimming in green spinach water (which I had to empty into my water glass-- I am not sure what the reason is for the 'downgrade' of the establishment. The place isn't kept clean anymore and the floors are filthy; it makes me wonder what the kitchen in the back looks like where they prepare the other meals (not the pizza). They have become very popular and so the place is packed with customers and there is no room to even squeeze pass someone on your way to the bathroom; they need to expand or I am not going there anymore. Also, there is woman who has been a server there for many years and seems a bit lost with the protocol for customer service, either retrain her or replace her. I commend them for hiring young people to work there, but someone should take the time to train them; they are very willing and kind, but obviously have no one to prepare them for what to expect. I write this review not only because I 'love their pizza,' but to also make a point that Gino's Pizza needs to work on some things to keep me coming back. The best pizza I've ever had! I grew up eating Gino's and there's not quite anything like it. Anytime I come home to visit I have to get a slice of pizza from them. Nothing can ever compare to pizza being made by REAL Italians. One of my favorite spots forever and always. I either get a regular slice or a scillian (spelling) slice with garlic knots. The lasagna is also REALLY GOOD if you're in the mood for that. I remember ordering that when my grandma was away and it filled me right up and was full of meet and cheese! Oh, trusty Gino's. Grew up just a short walk away, and my family would order from here regularly. I'm getting nostalgic just thinking about it. After church, after dance practice, when we were craving some of their garlic knots, whenever we got some unexpected company, whenever no one (and I'm referring mostly to my mom, as she does most of the cooking) felt like putting something together for dinner... Oh Gino's, thank you for seeing us through it all. I no longer live a short distance away from this Gino's, and that is the only reason I've gone without their food for this long. My brother was a huge fan of their buffalo chicken pizza. Not my favorite, but I'll admit it IS good. If they still have it, go try a slice. I was happy with just their plain cheese pizza or one with pepperoni as the topping. I would def recommend their plain cheese pizza. Can't go wrong with simple but tasty. I'm not one for icees, so can't comment on that, but I'm sure they are as good as icees get. I prefer gelato, but I don't believe they have that. Maybe they do. I'll have to check that. As I mentioned, I have ordered from them countless times, and I don't recall ever complaining about a long wait. They do get crazy busy at times, so perhaps those are the times when the wait was a TAD longer, but it was never so bad that I felt the need to complain. Hope this place is around for much longer. No matter where I end up living in the next decade or so, I will be sure to pay this Gino's a visit if ever in Elmont. It feels like an old friend. read more

Ambiance and wait staff: loud Italian wait staff, hard to understand sometimes, but super nice, attentive, helpful, and they are great! Place is clean, not super modern, but nice. There's a good amount of tables available to sit. Food: you can either order pizza at the counter and sit, or you can be seated and order from a full Italian menu. I've done both here many times and have never been disappointed. This place has awesome Italian food! The pizza is really amazing here. You need to try the Buffalo chicken pizza!!!!! Gino's of elmont does not have many pizza options (regular, Sicilian, grandma, pepperoni only sometimes and Buffalo) but they don't need any more than that! The Buffalo Slice has lots of spicy chicken on it and it's doused with a creamy blue cheese dressing (which I always ask for more when the slice comes out of the oven)! And I don't even like the taste of blue cheese and I love this slice! Also the garlic knots with tomato sauce on the side are great too! Super garlicky and oily, which I enjoy! I don't know how he has a job working in food service with the type of attitude he had. His coworkers tried to vouch for him and say he's only like that because it's busy. I will save you all time by saying the most important thing first.... BEST BUFFALO CHICKEN SLICE on Long Island! Seriously though, best buffalo chicken slice in Long Island! Additionally a very very good regular slice. My wife likes their Sicilian pizza as well but I'm not much of a Sicilian guy (unless it's Spumoni garden, which doesn't count like traditional Sicilian or "square). Lastly and some would argue most important, the garlic knots passed the fingertip test. What is the fingertip test you ask? When you pick up a garlic knot and give it a slight squeeze you should have some oil on your fingertips, if not-put it down, you won't like it. And after being a customer over 20 years I've had enough. Each time I have visited has been unpleasant attitudes. I ordered two chicken rolls with no cheese, made quickly ... no cheese like I asked but ended up being raw dough inside. They told the ordering platform they made 60 rolls today and no issues and I could return the undercooked ones to them. Arrogance , you can make 60 rolls and still make a mistake. .
