DJ played a blend of hip hop and dembow - great selection. 5 stars for the atmosphere alone - I love the decor. Came back for another game with my friend and she was my server again. Great service once again, the wings and truffle fries were good, drinks were phenomenal. City Coffee & Bar will definitely be my go to place for hookah & drinks in the area. I look forward to seeing what it's like during the day as well.

All but one round of drinks were at the happy hour price and each drink was now $20. It's odd because the food happy hour orders didn't go up but the drinks did? Either way, we didn't agree with the bill and after some discussion with the bartender, it was lowered but they tacked on an automatic gratuity (I guess as a way to compensate) but it was only two of us, so that should have never happened, especially since gratuity is optional. This experience honestly ruined the vibe and our willingness to come back again. It's really a shame because we looked forward to Monday happy hour because getting good drinks at that price is rare in the city and is a nice gem when it happens. I understand the desire to cash in on events like this, but your originality and integrity is what keeps customers and return customers. I'm sorry but I don't think I'll be back, even though it's a nice establishment. This experience was just too sour.

We were both looking forward to dining al fresco, but it turned out to be a raining morning, so we wound up inside instead. The venue change was not all bad, as the bright dining room was surrounded by windows offering just a slightly more obscured view of Manhattan and the Hudson River. The restaurant offered either a à la carte menu or a $41 prix-fixe option, which included a choice of one brunch item and two mimosas, bellinis or bloody marys. While my friend opted to include the beverage package, I stuck with coffee and a main dish. My coffee was bold, tasty, and refilled as needed. For my entree, I selected the Bakkafrost Salmon, which arrived as a long, thin filet of pan-seared salmon served over a Japanese sweet potato hash and plated with a tomato confit and a parsnip puree. It was further garnished with a black sesame tuile and a soy garlic glaze. The salmon was a bit fishy, but the rest of the accoutrements were fantastic! I love Japanese sweet potatoes and parsnips, so it was right up my alley. Of course the weather started to clear towards the end of our experience, but we still really enjoyed our tasty meal, excellent service, and stunning views from the elegant dining room.

Whether one's in the mood for a cozy family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. Sitting on the banks of the Hudson River in Edgewater, my partner, our friends, and I decided on a celebratory dinner at the Haven Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. A reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table immediately by the window inside their floor-to-ceiling dining room, evoking a relaxed yet upscale vibe. Their menu specializes in American/Mediterranean cuisine influenced by seafood, steakhouse, and pasta. For appetizers, we decided on Short Rib Crostini, Kumamoto Oysters, and Yellowin Ahi Tuna Tacos. Our main consisted of Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass, 7 oz Prime Cut Filet Mignon, Bangkok Roasted Duck Breast, Lenny's Lobster Pasta, Crispy Lyonnaise Potatoes, and French Butter Asparagus. We even saved room for dessert and got the Bailey's Crème Brûlée and Assorted Dessert Tasting for two. We washed them down with I Dream of Lychees Martini, Berry White Spritz, and Haven Espresso. Complimentary bread with softened butter started our meal. The food is presented like art, and the portions varied depending on what one ordered. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it and fair considering the quality. Our server, Juan, was friendly, accommodating, and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A wonderful night all around--we're already looking forward to coming back.

Usually that would mean that service is faster as the staff are walking out of the kitchen, but the service here was unbearably slow. We had to crane our heads to get our orders taken, to find someone to give us our bill, and to ask about our order. We ordered a drink (the second drink was sold out and my friend was uninterested in other options) and two appetizers and the drink came first, followed by a twenty minute wait for calamari. The calamari was probably the thinnest squid in the ocean and looked like shoestring fries, but the sauce it came in was delicious. There were approximately three zucchini sticks and four peppers in the calamari, which is on par with many restaurants, but less bang for your buck. It eventually became clear after another 10 min wait that our truffle fries were nowhere to be seen, and since we had to leave for our dinner reservation soon we struggled to flag a server, who then told us that they never put in our fries order. We obviously did not ask them to start making it for us, instead asking for the bill and then leaving. I wish I liked this place more than I did, but the service and staff here were so slow and hard to flag down it felt like we spent our entire meal looking around.

Our group of twelve showed up without a reservation, yet the staff was incredibly accommodating and quickly arranged outdoor seating for all of us. We ordered margaritas, red and white wine, spritzers, and frosé. Every drink was excellent, and Happy Hour made it even better. We only ordered fries since we were mainly there for drinks, but the service truly made the visit stand out. The young women who took care of our table were patient, friendly, and very attentive. The servers were great and checked in regularly to make sure we were good. We stood for maybe 2.5 hrs and left so happy with a full belly and new memories created. Definitely a cute little spot for a solo quick bite, a nice little date night that's more on the casual side, or coming with a group of friends. While we came here for lunch during the week they did have other great food options available and weekend specials if that's something of interest. The ambiance is sexy and grown and still has a sports bar vibe. It's warm and inviting as well as cozy with the lighting. They have a fully stocked bar with 2 bars front and back. As mentioned earlier, they have daily and weekend specials for both food and drink. This place is definitely a must try and I will be coming back.

We came at opening on a Friday night. The bartender was friendly and welcoming. Our server was great. Waiting was never an issue even as more people arrived, along with a second bartender. Maybe they worked out the kinks other people mentioned. Drinks were excellent. I enjoyed my lavender haze and kir royale. My husband enjoyed his French 75, and we especially liked his smoked Belvedere. Food was amazing. My husband enjoyed his sliders, and my truffle honey grilled cheese was out of this world. Now I'm desperately seeking fontina cheese at the grocery store to try and recreate the dish at home. The truffle fries were crispy and not overly oily. The venue is beautiful. Fun being nosy and hearing conversations between locals, including some theater people.

I found myself in the area on recent Friday evening and decided to meet up with two friends here. I was smitten at first sight of the beautifully-appointed room, with seductive red drapery and gold accents. All I wanted to do was curl up on one of the velvet chairs and spend my entire evening captivated by imagined past lives of this space... Dorothy Parker holding court here with her Vicious Circle, sipping on Gibsons and martinis. You're going to have a glorious time. We were welcomed by a dashing gentleman at the door who kindly found us seating in the sultry little nook by the piano. Our server never left us wanting for anything and believe me, we wanted it all. Cocktail names are well-priced, especially for Manhattan. I kept to a decent bubbly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time here.
