First time here and really enjoyed it ,drinks were very good food was delicious and service was excellent! Definitely recommend we had the chicken enchilada and chile relleno combo, chicken tortilla soup, an carne de res en chile colorado.

Nachos Platter! ~$13 This was more than filling and had nacho and shredded cheeses! Shared this between two people.

We came in for a quick bite! Nachos were delicious, Camarones a la Diabla, and Cheese Enchiladas were filling and made well. Service was super fast, friendly, and informative. Our waiter was polite and answered our questions. Ambiance was old school Mexican and we liked the fountain by our table! Family friendly and decorated nicely.

On our way back home from Leona Valley cherry picking we stopped by to have lunch. I found them on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Once we walked in we were greeted by a friendly gentlemen that sat us right away. (Wish I asked for his name) once seated they brought us salsa and chips. I love it when the chips Mexican restaurants serve is warm. I ordered chicken flautas and a taco Al pastor. Both very delicious and flavorful. My sister in law ordered chicken and steak fajitas and again loved the seasoning. We enjoyed our food and will most definitely stop by again next time we are in the area Great service, wonderful ambiance, Delicious food, reasonable prices. ... .. What more can you ask for.

So My Partner (Bea Padilla) large Family has many Birthday's in late February early March. We agreed to have Dinner for All the Birthday Gang at Don Chato, Acton California. A Wonderful experience! Great Staff/Service and Great Food. Lots of Parking and Clean Bathrooms plus the Drinks are on Point! Saturday Night was Fun and I would Recommend the Chile Relleno ala Carte and a Bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup!!!

Invited friends to join us in the restaurant for yummy Mexican food!

We have gotten to go good from here a few times and really enjoyed it. Their chips are thin, airy and very tasty. I'm obsessed with their salsa! We decided to invite friends to go dining in and it was very good . We've been back twice in a 6 month period because we travel a lot and it has been spot on each time we go. I enjoyed the fountain running inside near our booth. The server and bus person were helpful, attentive and kind. We really like getting our Mexican fix here anytime we are in town!

Plenty of room to invite all your friends!

There's a down home, country feel to the 49'er Saloon subtly referring to the California gold rush days of yore. Looks like an ideal place for bikers and horse riders. Hearty grub with hints of traditional regional American cuisine and full bar where you will not leave hungry. There's a formal dining room for larger gatherings for families and friends. Great place to eat after scrambling around Vasquez Rocks, visiting Animal Tracks, or just hungry on CA 14 frwy. Just get off the Crown Valley offramp and head due south for about a mile. 1) Wild Game Sausage: Walk On The Wild Side With Jalapeño-Cheddar Stuffed Elk With Roasted Peppers & Onions. Big portion enough for 2 meals since the Elk sausage is so rich. Elk sausage is ground fine and stuffed tightly in the casing for dense, firm texture. You're getting your money's worth. The Jalapeño has a nice, warm piquancy while the Cheddar gives a dairy fermented undertone. The julienned red and green bellpeppers are pleasantly al dente; the onions are caramelized to bring out their sweetness. It's all sautéed in an agrodolce/sweet-sour sauce along with a touch of garlic. 1a) Side dish: Nice little garden salad including green lettuce, diced purple onion, chopped tomato, grated carrot. Chose blue cheese dressing to use for the "Buffalo Burger". 2) "Buffalo Burger" is extra finely ground, plush, velvety Bison meat. So when I ordered it medium rare, the patty turned out mushy. Next time, I will order it medium to firm up and give more of a chaw to the meat. Opted for two slices of not too crispy, meaty bacon. Mayo, tomato, green lettuce leaf, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, dense brioche bun. I spread on the blue cheese dressing to give a little funk to what I thought would be the blood minerality of the Bison meat. It's another substantial dish. 2a) Side dish of standard French fries which was crisp as requested although it didn't quite have that ineffable earthy, mildly sweet, potato flavour 1-2a) Allegiance India Pale Ale, Lancaster CA was a good counter to both food items. Dry, heavy bodied, fruity with scents of orange zest, lacquer, touch of cleansing acidity. 49'er doesn't leave you hungry so didn't have enough room for dessert. I took the Elk sausage home and made sandwiches for two meals. So eating at the 49'er isn't as expensive due to the big portions. 4 stars

After spending the day at Willow Springs Raceway, it has always been a tradition to eat at Baracoa afterwards for the past couple of years now. We all love their dishes. The oxtail is raved about, service is always excellent, vibes are great esp on live music nights. This time around, we had a slightly larger party since there were more of us at the raceway this day and we were excited for our friends to finally try Baracoa. We've always had maybe 1 or 2 dogs with us and so we'd sit out on the patio. These dogs are quiet and obedient. They just lie under the table at your feet and are never restless & never beg/bark/whine. Since we had a larger party and now 3 dogs with us, maybe it drew more attention? Our waiter said that he will have to ask the boss if it's okay that we have dogs since usually it's policy to not have dogs on the premises. We were so confused since we've been coming here. The boss/owner/manager, I can't remember exactly his title, came outside and let us know that unfortunately, pets are not allowed, even on the patio. We were all taken aback with nothing to say except having dropped jaws as he was walking away. Before he completely left our sight, we asked when that became a policy since we have always been here with dogs. He said it's always been a rule and cannot speak for his employees and the decisions they make when he's not there. He goes on to state that the pets are unclean and that he has customers. In that moment, I thought, "What are we then? Have we never been customers?" With a firm tone, he asked us to cooperate. It would have been a different kind of feeling if this boss had said ANYTHING along the lines of, "We would love to have you back to dine with us, but please without your dogs." This interaction felt like major rejection, hate towards pets, and to just get out immediately. We had already ordered 3 cortado frios, which I always think is to-die-for here, and that will be our last sips from them. It was also way more sweet than strong this time, sadly. We will not be returning to this establishment.

Sunday between 2-7pm for Happy Hour is ideal for being able to nosh on small nibbles for a 25% discount at the bar. HH is also Tuesday-Friday 4:30-7pm. Only exception is on "holidays". HH: 1) Jamón Serrano: Spanish cured ham thinly sliced. Deeply red brown, meaty, with a fermented, salty sweet porkiness and bit of luscious fat ringing the edges. Cornichons, and summer ripened honey dew melon respectively added a pickled, acidic crunch, and dulcet, fruit, juiciness. Not as fat marbled, plush and deeply porky as Jamón Ibérico de Bellota where pigs are fattened on forest strewn acorns, but still a nice nosh. 2) Shrimp Escoffier: Three plump, moist shrimp tail on in a creamy, buttery Sauce Velouté enriched by dulcet Jerez with its sweet, woody, oxidized fermentation. Velouté was sopped up by slices of the house Bread. Btw, Georges Auguste Escoffier (1846-1935) was a legendary French culinary artist known as "the king of chefs and the chef of kings." 3) Stuffed Mushrooms: Button Mushrooms topped with tomato tasting mostly of French thyme and whisper of garlic swimming in olive oil, baked till soft in a metal escargot pan. 1-3a) Claudia's Grenache, Reyes Winery, Agua Dulce, Ca 2014: Mellow, full bodied red, blackberry with a brown sugar toastiness due to hot summer temperatures. Lower acidity and tannins. Steve, the bartender, was very accommodating and thoughtful in a casual friendly way. When I asked for a wine recommendation to pair with the 3 dishes leaning toward a light red, he let me sample 2 wines to decide for myself. Dinner 5-9pm: 4) Black Bean Soup: Black beans are puréed in chicken broth enriched by cream. Pepped up by fresh ground black pepper. 5) Canard à l'Orange: Extra meaty, substantial duck in a well toned, solid, compact body. Duck was a touch over baked so the meat lost its lushness and dried out the duck, but still acceptable. The skin is crisped and finished in high heat with Grand Marnier orange liqueur. The sauce seems to be a combination of duck pan juices, touch of orange juice, and Grand Marnier for a sweet, citrus fattiness. Garnished with poached orange segments and refreshing orange slices. 5a) Bit over cooked, soft carrots tossed in sugar, salt, & butter. 5b) Pommes Dauphinoise: Potato au Gratin is slices of boiled potato in rich cream and well aged cheese. Touched with earthy garlic and baked to allow all the flavours to infuse. Couldn't sense a soupçon of nutmeg in Le Chêne version, but decadently, very excellent. 4-5b) Claudia's Grenache 6 Soufflé au Chocolat: Fluffy, airy, slightly gooey, very chocolate forward classic French dessert. The sides of the ceramic ramekin became extra hot so the outer perimeter of the Soufflé was crispy. Watery chocolate sauce for extra chocolatiness. Overall a good, old school version of bistrot French. Hearty, cuisine bourgeoise. Staff is responsive and attempts to be proactive. I came to Le Chêne in 1987, but the food didn't impress me enough for me come back.
