Let me start with the good. Used mobile order since I drive around for a living. Food was ready relatively fast. Still hot. The BEC was superb! Absolutely delicious! Coffee was great! Price was even better! The bad If I was as far as the given time they gave me online my food would have been cold. Secondly, I ordered a lime seltzer and hot coffee. After someone finally decided to come to the register to help the customers I was given just my sandwich. Not told anything about having to get the drinks myself. At least let me know coffee is there and seltzer that way. No I had to check all fridges for the seltzer. Anyway, over all I'd definitely visit again for the food. Not the service. read more

It's a deli and it's all about the food and nothing else as far as I'm concerned. But, oh yes it's nice to have nice people wait on you and that is the case here. Decent size store with several tables on the inside and plenty of off street parking outside. Now for the goods, my Philly cheese steak with provolone and cooked onions was smallish in size and just okay in taste, so it gets three stars and the DW's chicken cutlet with bacon and spicy mayo gets four stars. Coming in at $20 for the two including a single soda and bag of chips was not cheap but fair. So if we do the math here it's easy 3 + 4 / 2 = 3.5 Bottom line: 3 1/2 stars rounded up. read more

Ordered a chicken salad on rye with hot peppers, L&T. Ready within 2 mins. That's fast! Especially at 12.15pm on a weekday in this busy area. It was HUGE. Nice big ball of chicken salad and the bread was fresh. It was delicious! Not too mayonnaise overkill and not dry. Very impressed. The prices are good too. In reality I would probably give a 3.9 star but I liked this place overall. I came in and got a chicken cutlet BLT for lunch. The roll was amazing, super fresh and easy to eat. The chicken cutlet was dark golden and fried, also a fan of this. I would have liked 2 things: more sauce on the sandwich and crispier bacon. Some of the bacon had some fatty pieces which I am not a huge fan of and I like to get sauced- the more sauce the better. I learned my lesson; if I come back again I got to ask for extra chipotle mayo sauce. A few outdoor picnic tables outside are nice to use on the days it's warm enough to eat outside. read more

Great find when I was in the area for work. I'm a Philly guy, so when I drove past and saw a sign that said Cheesesteaks in North Jersey, I had to check it out. Nice friendly staff and a very clean kitchen. Dom was on the grill and I asked for Cheesesteak with American, they said no problem and that they usually make it Monterey Jack. I was feeling adventurous so I said give it to me your way. Grabbed it to go and was back on the road. They must ship the rolls in, because it was delicious, lightly toasted with a harder crust and soft inside. The steak, was a good quality cut that had a good flavor. The cheese had a slightly different taste than what I'm used to, but it was a pretty good. I think this is probably the best steak I have had north of 195. Nice job Jersey!!! Monmouth in the 70's, Dom's Deli used to deliver sandwiches, always freshly sliced and delicious...but nowadays...they sliced the meat ahead of time, which doesn't taste as good...there are other places that does that...nothing to rave about...I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Dom's... Since I've moved out of New Jersey I've been so so sad that I can't come to Dom's more often! Every time I travel back to jersey I have to go to Dom's deli. The food is so delish. I'm obsessed with their chicken cutlets! They are cooked to perfection and remind me of how my grandma used to make them. The chicken cutlet BLT is my top pick, the chipotle mayo is homemade and has just the right amount of spice to give it a little kick. They also have salads which are huge! With all of the deli's in the area they have some stiff competition! They need to work on their organization behind the counter as well as the staff that works the register. When calling in to place an order it sounds as though you are inconveniencing the woman that answers the phone. They also have a $10 delivery minimum which the woman on the phone is quick to remind you of. Love the tomato blossom concept, but they need to use tomatoes that are actually ripe to make that stick, especially if it is one of the items listed on your menu and not just a once a week special. The hot food on the counter in the glass case also does not look too appetizing. Cute place, but with AJ's Deli and Strokers on the same turf, they need to pick it up a bit! read more

Any negative ratings about the food are definitely from the previous owner. The food here is great. The only complaint I have is that the service is extremely slow and unorganized. If you call in an order, don't be surprised if the gal taking the order doesn't know about any specials and definitely doesn't know about their signature sandwiches, etc. Then don't count on your order to be waiting after the 15 minutes she tells you it will take if you order any time close to lunch time. At this time they are very busy (testament to the really good sandwiches) and if you watch the staff while you wait for an additional 15 - 20 minutes sometimes, you 'll see that there is no discernible system for handling the orders and getting them to the customers. Note to Dom: train the cashier staff better, clean up the system for handling orders during busy times and please, keep making those delicious roast beef, pork tenderloin and home baked turkey sandwiches. read more
