Mikey was great--welcoming, friendly, and pleasant throughout the entire visit, from taking our order to serving our food. Their dual (cup & regular) Pepperoni Pizza with Hot Honey was absolutely delicious. The combination of crispy pepperoni, melted cheese, and hot honey was packed with flavor. It was definitely on the greasy side (thanks to all that cheese and pepperoni), but that certainly didn't stop us from enjoying it. We ordered an extra-large pizza and only had a couple of slices left by the end of the meal. We also ordered a Caesar salad, two orders of cheesy bread, two orders of mozzarella sticks, and 24 chicken wings. Everything was very good. It was our first time trying their wings, and we really enjoyed both flavors we selected--Garlic Parmesan and Mango Habanero. There no dedicated way to turn left into the lot, but lucky this time I not in a rig pulling trailer like 6 years ago, so I just swing this big SUV in a sort of u-turn and go in. Lots of parking in the lot for this buffet. The price has gone up from 6 years ago ... it's around $14 per person now. The selection of food is still just one steam table, but there still plenty to choose from and some unusual dishes I've not seen before. I'm here with my crew and they love buffets, cause these guys can eat all they want and everybody is happy to find something they like to eat. There are no American choices here like some buffets, like pizza and french fries. Some of the dishes I'd not seen before at buffets are these chopped oysters served on foil, or boneless ribs (really just sliced up pork shoulder cooked Chinese way), and steamed clams. The green beans were so fresh and crunchy cooked perfect. I was impressed all the food was cooked so well, compared to come Chinese buffets. The selection is smaller here but the quality is better than most. Everybody left full and happy and this is right near the hotel we're staying, so we might even come back again!

This last time we stopped in for lunch, I just ordered a bowl of the soup de jour while my daughter ordered a cup of the same soup and a wood fired pizza. I told the server that I d like my soup when her pizza was served, not before, because it was my meal. What do ya know, both soups at the same time and both big bowls. My daughter mentioned that she'd only ordered a cup and I repeated that I really wanted my soup WHEN her pizza came out, as it was my lunch. The server took mine away without comment. When the pizza arrived, we kinda gave it a few minutes before finally walking over to the bar to ask where our soup might be. The answer??? You'll have to ask your server. I finally found her and asked after my soup. Her response? Oh, I thought you said you didn't want it. I was nice but repeated my original order again. My soup finally arrived as my daughter was finishing what she could eat of her pizza. When the bill arrived, charge for two bowls. I paid it, but subtracted difference between cup and bowl from service tip. I came back 40 minutes later and my two pieces of original recipe weren't made yet. Customers walking in were advised to leave or wait. I sat at a table. Finally after 15 more minutes of waiting I asked him if my two pieces of chicken are ready yet. He said "oh, 3 more minutes." 15 minutes later they finally had my TWO pieces of chicken cooked. The whole 1.5 hour ordeal was frustrating and confusing. How does kfc run out of chicken before 4:30 pm? How does they say they're out of chicken and then say they do have chicken in the same sentence? This is confusing. The Fernley location usually takes about 20-30 minutes to get your food but this was ridiculous.

I also find it frustrating to receive different responses from staff and to have takeout packaging vary from one visit to the next. I almost always order the same thing because they truly have the best taco salad. When I order it to go, I always request extra salsa and sour cream. However, the experience seems to vary each time--sometimes I receive pico de gallo, sometimes salsa, and sometimes neither of the items I asked for. I've also noticed that ordering late in the evening usually goes smoothly. The morning, afternoon, and early evening shifts seem to be where the experience is less consistent. At times, I hesitate before placing an order because I wonder whether it will be worth dealing with missing items again. It may seem like a small issue, but when it happens repeatedly, it becomes frustrating. Consistency matters, especially for loyal customers. I hope management can address these issues so every guest receives the same level of service, regardless of the time of day. On this particular night, Rogelio was very helpful in assisting the new cashier/server, Sydney. I also appreciate Sophie, who stepped in towards the end and helped keep things running smoothly. Sydney remained calm throughout, and even though she was obviously new, she was still pleasant and did a good job.
