He was driving and I was scanning reviews for a decent, family style place to stop. Due to traffic we took a different route which brought us through the area. A quick call to the number I found on Yelp and discovered they were still open and could accommodate us for dinner. It was a weeknight and the place was empty except for a few take out orders. The decor was dated and the business looked to be family run. Per the menu it's been a family business since its start in 1979. The business switched hands to the now current owning family in 2000. Decent place with tables and seating accommodating any size group whether it be a couple or a group of six. The restaurant is clean, well lighted and suited for a family gathering. Pizza takes time to prepare and since I would assume families come here often, ownership had put in a small game room with arcade games and the novelty crane machine where one tries to win a stuffed animal. (Bring quarters because they don't keep that stocked) We ordered a few different items since we had one that dines gluten free. A couple pizzas, a plate of fries and a special salad for our special one, of onions, tomato slices and cucumbers without the seeds. We could tell the waitress found the salad order odd, but it gets tiresome to explain food allergies. Service took its time and I don't think they either know or have the mindset to be more available. I mean, it's a restaurant which has served the area for many years but I don't think it's ever that busy like that of any pizzeria found in a greater, populated area. So, don't go expecting too much. I find that in slower places, lowering my expectations is best. Pizza was good but it took its time, I would probably go back again if I ever found myself in this area with the same people. Restaurant staff was inviting and there was some good back and forth conversation. The kids enjoyed and we had a good time. The stars are for the charm of the people behind the pizza. The good service, though I will admit it was slow and when we needed things we had to get up and ask for someone to stop by our table. Free and ample parking.

They don't do their job right the pizza is horrible and everything's overpriced. Nite-Cap Tavern - The new patio is a hit!

I liked the Nite Cap. I've never been in here before last week, but we dropped in for a pizza and…read moresome beers. I understand they have new owners, but I don't know anything about the previous owners or what it was like before, so I'm basing my review off only my recent visit and nothing more. The bartender came over to our table almost immediately and took our orders. She was quite friendly and seemed to know the food menu well. I didn't notice anyone else working the bar/dining room area, so that meant that she was covering every table herself. Despite that, she was both sweet and efficient. We ordered a pizza, which came out to the table in what I would call an appropriate amount of time. It wasn't too long and wasn't so quick to make me think it was a frozen pizza or anything like that. The pizza was a thin crust, which I don't usually order, but it was good and I thought it was great for a thin crust pie. I would order that pizza again if I was at the Nite Cap again. My wife and I both enjoyed the pizza. We ordered the smaller size, which had eight slices, and that was plenty for the two of us. We just didn't require a box for leftovers. We ordered our beers, but the first two selections that my wife asked for, they were out of. We finally settled on something else, Killian's, on draft and those were on the table immediately. My wife complained that they could have used more of a head on the top, but that was it. I looked over at the bar and they did have a nice selection of beers on tap. As we waited for our food, I noticed our surroundings. They have a sidewalk patio area that was just begging to be used once the weather warms up some. Inside was a cozy fireplace, a jukebox and lots of seating, including near the windows. The atmosphere was nice and it looked like some mild upgrades had been done recently, although I did notice the cover on one of the chairs at our table was pretty torn up. That needed to be replaced stat and I couldn't understand how the damage didn't stick out like a sore thumb to the staff, but I don't think they noticed. I thought it was a quaint little small town bar. Everyone seemed friendly and the food and service were all good. I would not be adverse to trying this little pub again for a brew and pizza, maybe even a stromboli or a burger, since both looked great based on what I saw other people ordering up at the bar.

Not good. Burger patty tasted like middle school cafeteria. Service was soso. Overpriced. Avoid.read more

Mgr did apologize and took the price off the bill but we still waited another 10 mins . At this point we were ready to leave and just asked for her order to go .. My lasagna was okay but nothing to get too excited about. My previous review of this restaurant in 2018 was glowing but tonight just was not up to Par. Unbelievably good pizza, made with an excellent crust, not too oily or too thin and loaded with fresh toppings. Granted, the interior and exterior are nothing to brag about and the owners aren't spending their money on surface level aesthetics, that is for certain. However, they spend where it matters most- on food quality. Their warm, fresh from the oven bread sticks and fabulous garlic bread are also delicious. Service is friendly and with a personal touch and always prompt. Highly recommended.
