We wanted to check out a new spot for breakfast in Erie and visited Dominick's. The food was simple and tasty. The staff was helpful, friendly and quick. We enjoyed discussing all the historical pictures of the city of Erie, PA hanging on the walls, over a cup of really good coffee. I ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits after our server mentioned that the sausage was homemade. A large serving with meaty chunks of fresh, flavorful sausage, fluffy biscuits and creamy gravy. I would definitely order again and recommend. read more

Stopped in to try the famous meatball omelet. It was the most okayish thing ever. Nothing special it's just kind of weird. Bacon was fantastic and toast was good too but like without the sauce the eggs were absolutely unflavored or seasoned and I'm pretty sure they just tossed some provolone on there. So yeah very meh overall. Parking lot was a disaster I bottomed out going 1 mph to avoid it but it was impossible not too. Not really pleased. read more

Great service. The tall burnette was very nice and efficient. Food was hot and excellent. Bright and cheerful atmosphere. Sausage gravy and biscuits is delicious. read more

My favorite part of the meal was the home fries and are what inspired me to leave a review. They used actually whole potato instead of just the frozen square ones you typically get at bread places. The service was sweet and fast the servers are very friendly and help add the vibe of the restaurant with their light hearted humor. read more

Great traditional diner experience. The omelettes were great and the service was excellent.

First they don't keep their posted hours on the door. It says they close at 6 except for Sunday. Anytime I've gone there if the door wasn't already locked the waitress was telling me several hours early they were closing and I couldn't order but yet on their Facebook page they whining they don't have business can't get business if your chasing out. Than if you don't pay attention to your bill the waitress adds a tip to it so she's double dipping for tips. I stopped going because I don't get what I ordered read more

It's a dive but the food is good. I always order either the Steak Salad or Meatball Omelet. They're no longer 24 hours. I think they close at some point. Great for midnite food. There's about 18 tables/booths (seating from 2-8), it's 1:05am on a Fri night/Sat morning and 3 tables are empty! read more

Calling a place Domenick sounds like a not-too-subtle come on to a guy named Nicholas, so it's amazing how changing an "e" to an "i" and adding an "s" can make it family friendly. A really nice diner with some attitude, it's open 24 hours which is a rarity in these parts, and the roast beef sandwich is really, really, really good and tasty and thin shredded! Yum gravy and homemade mash! 5/5 For the friendly and interesting waitstaff and clientele, for the fact that it has survived all these years, for the fact that it is a local institution, for the fact that the portions are huge and the menu is extensive, for the fact that the food is delicious, for the fact that the put Burger King out of business (YES!), and for the fact that it is the only thing open (of quality) within 50 square miles at 3 in the morning... try it! I came here with two old friends after my second ever concert performance in Erie, PA. The first one, several years earlier, was where I met my good friend Mason. The second one had a much larger crowd of about 30, but wasn't one of my best concerts, between the terrible weather, which made me really late, and a lack of space to perform in, and then a broken keyboard during the show which meant I had to drive back to Buffalo after eating Dominick's, and then all the way the other way to Youngstown, OH. But Dominick's was definitely a good memory on a bad night. read more

Who doesn't put the cheese inside an omelette? Clearly it's strange. I've seen cheese inside And A piece melted on top as well but never just the top. You need to reevaluate that. read more

I like the atmosphere, people are very friendly. Food is alright, we went there for breakfast. The American cheese they used on their omelettes seemed liked craft singles. The omelette was large but the cheese kinda ruined it. The hash browns were billed separately on the check. Total for 2 omelettes with hash browns and 1 coffee and one soda $25 plus tax. Seemed high for what we got. read more

Very legit diner w an Italian accent. I like the meat ball sub, but the the guy next to me had a toasted combo sub. Excellent. Pasta fragoli was also quite good. Everybody makes a fuss about the meatball omelette, wish just seems wrong to me! Still I'll try it next time because i love this place, and i always come Great response from an all time fave! I'll be in! read more

Stopped at Dominick's for breakfast on a weekend trip to Erie for a friend's wedding. Saw the sign for the meatball omelette on the side of the building. I'm a local, family owned kinda guy, so I stopped in. There were only two servers, but they were both clearly running, so I didn't mind waiting a couple minutes at all. Coffee was fresh and hot. The omelette had mozzarella and meatballs, and was topped with marinara. I had a side of hash browns and it came with Italian bread toast. Great meal. They provided crushed pepper and parmesan to top it off. Seemed like a lot of local folks there, with friendly chop-busting all around. A good, local spot for grub, with friendly folks who work hard. Loved the omelette. Marinara wasn't too tangy, had good flavor. Definitely hit the spot. read more

Dominick's Diner-Eatery - Behold, the meatball omelette. - American Near Me - Erie, Pennsylvania

This spot is great and the employees make it that way. Breakfast is always super but drop in for a supper. They deserve your support.

Unfortunately not the Dominick's of old. Their friendly demeanor quickly waned. They offer a breakfast combo where you pick either 2 of 4 items for $6.49 or all 4 items for 7.99. I asked if I could order 3 of the 4 and the waitress said "no problem I can figure out the price." When I got the bill they charged me $9.99! When I brought it up the waitress said "that's the way the cash register figured it and there's nothing I can do." When I brought it up to another employee that employee commented "that makes no sense at all" agreeing with my reaction. The original waitress repeated again "there's nothing I can do about it" with attitude and walked away. She could have charged me for 4 and given me 3 which would have been better. Or I could have ordered 4 and not eaten one and it would have been cheaper. The money part makes you mad but the attitude is why I took the time to give this review. This place is for sale and we concluded they just don't care about customers anymore. Won't return. read more

I have never left a bad yelp review but felt like this one was needed! Ordered breakfast asked for eggs dippy but not with white runny. (Over easy) They came out over well was asked if I wanted them to remake them next they came out sunny side up I was not going to send back again just did not want to eat them like that was told that their grill is too hot to do them any other way left without eating a bite of food paid for the whole meal! read more

Dominick's just won the battle for dominion at 12th and French in their long time battle with Burger King. Burger King is officially closed as of 12-09-07 I've always preferred a meatball omelet to a Whopper at 3AM. Long live Dominick's-- the Best Drunk Food in Erie! read more

If you're in Erie, you have to make it to Dominick's Eatery. It has a lot of great qualities, like being a classic diner, and having breakfast any time of the day or night. The omelets are wonderful, and the service is friendly and fast. You can eat here for under six dollars, if you pay attention to the menu. The great thing about Dominick's is that it's one of those places that you look for when you're traveling. It has character and charm, with murals on the walls and a counter with stools. The only drawback might be that you have to park on the street in front, which is a busy four-lane road. read more

I am leaving a review because someone dissed the sauce on the meatball omelette. WTF? After 20 years of living in San Francisco, I came back to Erie and had a meatball omelette; it's just as good as I remember, or better, which is amazing, because I was sober tonight when I had it, and I used to only get the meatball omelette after a night of drinking. I feel like going back and just getting the spaghetti and meatball because I love this sauce so much. We got chicken wings too, very good, classic red hots flavored, true buffalo style. And they let me substitute blue cheese for ranch, the only thing that would have made it better would be some carrot sticks and celery. read more

Here is the truth about Dominick's the food you get is common fare and its hot and always cooked. The waitress staff is always friendly and if you tip more than 20% they will remember you and as you sit down they will fill your coffee up. I would often swing by Dominick's after working at the hospital all night. Never had a problem in there as the cops eat there too. The meatball sandwich was a good price. Nothing was ever burnt or undercooked and if I didn't like it they said what else can we get you, no charge. Its blue collar customers and you can see on their faces, hands and clothes when they come in. Its cheap to eat at Dominick's but it does not taste cheap. You could go to IHOP or perkins but your paying too much for the eats. The is also the music selection that has the greats hits from the 70's and 80's nothing flashy just good old easy rock and roll. Once I forgot my wallet and I went to talk to the manager and told him I would be right back. He said, I've seen you in here a 100 times you pay next time your in. I did and no harm no foul. When I visit Erie I make it a point to go in and have a cut of coffee, I've had a few friends die over the years and going there just seems to make them a little more alive. read more

Well, this place was quite amazing. Nothing like feasting upon a delicious meal of breakfast after a night of drinking. To be honest, I don't remember too much from the meal, only that it tasted amazing! This place is open late, which is awesome. From what I recall, it was pretty cheap too. Cool little place in the heart of Erie, perfect for any meal, morning, day or night. So GENIUS. read more

It's an awful part of town and the clientele are locals, bikers, or inebriated. However, the food is generally pretty good. There isn't anything too fancy on the menu, but nothing appalling either. The best thing on the menu is definitely the Reuben and it is in the running for the best in town. read more

Dominick's Diner-Eatery - Not well taken but none the less...its an awesome place for some late night hang out!! - American Near Me - Erie, Pennsylvania

I used to love eating here, but since they changed owners I don't like it. I've tried eating here a few times since the new owners bought it, but never again! I ordered the cheese omelet and for some odd reason the omelet didn't have ANY cheese inside the omelet just a few pieces on the top of the omelet. Plus the eggs don't taste like real eggs, I'm thinking they switched to liquid eggs. Plus my sides are always burnt or undercooked. So I stopped eating here. Well it's been over a year so we decided to give it one more try. I ordered a cheese omelet and again the eggs are gross and I can't seem to find any cheese in the middle, well finally after eating over half the omelet I find 1 piece of cheese in the middle! My husband ordered roast beef and this was like lunch meat roast beef! He didn't like it either and for the price wasn't worth it! Like I said we used to eat here all the time and the food was nothing like this! I gave it one more try but I won't be returning! You said the omelets don't come with cheese unless requested, yet I ordered a CHEESE OMELET!! Why would I have to request cheese in a cheese omelet??? That doesn't even make sense!! read more

If I had to rate this place since the new ownership took over and the TV show aired I'd give it a 65%. Ordered the cheese omelet but only had cheese on the outside, never experienced this before. If I order a western omelet would you put the ingredients on top too? Shouldn't have to ask for cheese to be put inside my cheese omelet. read more

Pasta w/ Sauce. That is all I recall ever eating at this place. A buddy of mine had introduced me to this place...a great place to get something good to eat really late at night...or really early in the morning. I was born in Erie, however, no longer live there and haven't in a long time...but I do remember cheap plates of rigatoni w/ sauce...so good. My only regret is not ordering more there as I am sure it was all good. read more

I have always enjoyed the food here! Only one time had I had the city chicken that didn't sit right with me. The pancakes are scrumptious & not "rubbery-chewy". I really like the meatball & cheese subs. They prepare them like I've never experienced. The meat is chopped up, with your choice of cheese, and without gobs of sauce. This keeps everything on the bun without falling out like others. We've always had to wait awhile, irrespective of the no. of customers. It hasn't been a problem, though. read more

Dominick's is delicious food located in downtown Erie. I must state that I usually eat here after drinking downtown, and that the wait staff are still very courteous. Prices are fair, menu is delicious, location is great. (Note: I don't know if this has changed yet, but I believe it is cash only.) read more

When ever my husband and I travel we always like to seek out the local hole in the wall places. This place fit the bill. Service was a bit slow , but understandable as there was only one girl working. There were two other people sitting at a table eating that appeared to be managers or owners . They did not seem eager to help out our waitress , who was clearly swamped . The food was good. We had the pizza roll ups for an appetizer and they were delicious . We also had cheeseburgers , fries and onion rings. Everything came out hot and fresh. The price was very reasonable !! read more

They're open very late at night and aren't very expensive, so it it makes for a great place to go at 3AM when most other places are closed. The food isn't bad, but it's not really outstanding either. I can't comment on the service because I have a friend who works there and that would make me a bit biased. Based on my experience here, it's not my first choice of where to go for breakfast, but it's a great place to go when it's really late and everyone else is closed. read more

Great food, service and hours. Very clean and modern since I've been there last, but that was about 10 years ago. Prices are reasonable. I will deffintley return soon. read more

I ordered food at this diner. The hash browns were not cooked. We were waiting for an uber (its my friends 21st birthday) they kicked us out into the middle of the snowy road in tank tops. Customers were terribly rude and disrespectful. The waitress was so nasty. read more

Not sure why this place has 4.5 but maybe I was just fooled by that rating to try this place out and forgot I couldn't compare diner food to an actual restaurant. I've been to some excellent diners in my travels, & this is not one of them. Went here w 3 other people, and tried everyones' dishes & all were really over salted. I got the billy philly, which is basically a Philly cheesesteak & their stuffed pepper soup. Cheese steak was really dry, used can mushrooms, extremely salty, & a little bit under portioned. The soup was good on the execution but again really salty to a point you shouldn't eat it. Tried a friends roast beef which was very salty. Tried the chicken sandwich (grilled) which was very dry & chewy. Can't say this place is inedible since they do try to use some fresh ingredients from what I saw ( fresh ripe tomatoes & real mashed potatoes). Also tried my wife's grilled cheese which was pretty good, but if you mess that up, close your restaurant. Over all, if you can't find a place to eat or you're out at 2am or you love mediocre diner food, this place is for you. Or maybe I'm just wrong & we came on an "off night". read more

Hit this place at like 11pm. The place was empty. I got a meatball omelet. This may have been good if the sauce wasn't terrible, but most likely not. I did not like this place. The food varied between average and gross (pizza rolls). The coffee should have been free because I drank hot water. Being the only table in the restaurant, it took us forever to receive our food. One to miss. read more

Looking for 2am food or later. You won't beat this place. Classic diner food with 24 hour breakfast.

We had breakfast there today and the team and food were outstanding! They treated my family wonderfully. As much as I love Dominick's I'm only talking about the Dominick's after 2am and before any other diner in Erie opens up. The food is OK but the atmosphere including the other patrons in the wee hours of the night make this place shine. I would check it out for the entertainment and get some OK food while you're there. read more
