Blackberry jelly

What a cute little diner! The servers were friendly and efficient. We were there in a Sunday morning and just barely beat the rush! The food was excellent minus one small exception... the home fries. Given the yumminess of the food I would have hoped for homemade home fries instead of frozen. But they had blackberry jelly which always makes me happy! I would definitely come back.

My wife and I were in the area and wanted to visit a nonchain restaurant for breakfast. We arrived at the Original Breakfast Place around 8AM on a Sunday. We were promptly seated. I ordered Terri's Big Breakfast with sausage, home fries, Italian toast and pancakes (see picture). I wish the home fries were homemade but everything was delicious so I didn't feel it was worth losing a star. My wife had the eggs and hash. We both enjoyed our meals. Very inexpensive overall, good service, and a tasty breakfast. I would definitely recommend and return!

10/4/25: A great find for breakfast in the Erie/ North East area! This was our first time visiting this area and we're happy to find a welcoming family style restaurant for breakfast with friendly knowledgeable staff. They were bustling when we arrived, but still had some tables available as we were seated right away. Our food was delicious; fluffy pancakes, good sized omelet, delicious home fries and I noticed there was no grease left behind on the plates, so not a "greasy spoon." Definitely our go-to next time we're here!

Fast seating and attention to drinks. Waitress was happy and quick to take our order. The place has a great small town feel with old school decorations on the walls. Very reasonably priced options. A variety of choices and even options for those watching their weight to sub egg whites and turkey sausage. Would definitely go back but would bring a sweater as the A/C was working well this day.

Fantastic! Food was delicious, coffee was hot, and service was excellent. The cinnamon apple pancakes were to die for! Always clean and looks great.

The east side. With biscuit instead of toast.

Food was great. Service very friendly. Reasonably priced. Takes cash and all cards. And apple/Google pay.

Take a look at the menu!

The Original Breakfast Place has it all: Sparkling clean. Friendly, smiling staff. Fast, friendly service. Very tasty breakfasts. No one makes breakfast like Americans make breakfast, and if you're in the mood for a really good, all-American start to your day... Just take yourself to The Original Breakfast Place!

Great breakfast place. Had the east side breakfast plate that comes with sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns or home fries and toast. I got the hash browns, held the toast, ordered scrambled eggs. My mom had thr same and got medium over easy and Italian toast. She liked hers as well. The sausage was outstanding and I am not a sausage person. Get the sausage!!

We LOVE this place! Perfect breakfasts--wide variety of choices. My husbands omelette was delicious and my pancakes light and fluffy.

I was introduced to these pies while standing in the checkout at a local produce market, I grew up…read moreeating "pockets pies" some were fruity some were filled with chocolate and other custards, but the crust slightly glazed was what I really craved, a toasty pastry whether fried or baked they were irresistible and left a lasting impression. The display was filled with what seemed like an endless number of flavors and prices that tempted one to buy dozens without a single sampling. I dismissed it but the line was slow so I stood there staring at them with a thought could these be as delicious as I remembered knowing that the brand was unrecognizable to me and the product was hidden inside a rectangular box that a marketing genius designed to pull at the very depths of my soul - well at least had me wishing I had eaten breakfast before walking through these doors. The line inches forward and the lady pushing a basket of vegetables and a cantaloupe behind me was getting position on me, a moment longer and I'd miss my opportunity to try one. So as if these were on my grocery list I reached out and grabbed a few apple, a few cherry, a few peach, a few lemon, a strawberry, a blackberry as the woman watched with a question on her lips suddenly interrupted my shopping spree and asked if these pies were good and while holding a dozen or so I said "I have no idea" but I would be hosting a tasting later in the afternoon. I like these pies, some flavors better than others, but my logic tells me a semi-sweet glazed crust with a tart filling is best so lemon is my favorite followed by the tart cherry...

I recently bought a JJ's Bakery pie that was disgustingly old - so, old that the interior was hard…read more Upon examination, I realized that the only date on the box was on the INSIDE, where no consumer (or distributor) can even see it. I contacted JJ's, and they could not possibly care less that consumers get ripped off buying their decrepit, old pies! They just blamed the distributor for not rotating the stock. Or course, it's kind of difficult to understand how one would do that when there is NO VISIBLE DATE. JJ's also informed my about how all of their pies are frozen, so there simply is no such thing as fresh product from JJ's. Just stay away. They're cheap, their old, and their maker doesn't stand behind them.
