My wife and I were in the area and wanted to visit a nonchain restaurant for breakfast. We arrived at the Original Breakfast Place around 8AM on a Sunday. We were promptly seated. I ordered Terri's Big Breakfast with sausage, home fries, Italian toast and pancakes (see picture). I wish the home fries were homemade but everything was delicious so I didn't feel it was worth losing a star. My wife had the eggs and hash. We both enjoyed our meals. 10/4/25: A great find for breakfast in the Erie/ North East area! This was our first time visiting this area and we're happy to find a welcoming family style restaurant for breakfast with friendly knowledgeable staff. They were bustling when we arrived, but still had some tables available as we were seated right away. Our food was delicious; fluffy pancakes, good sized omelet, delicious home fries and I noticed there was no grease left behind on the plates, so not a "greasy spoon." I have been here three times now and it is my must go to breakfast spot whenever I am visiting Erie! Everything is amazing from the breakfast sandwich to the Greek burgers and fries! I travel fir a living and this place rates in my top 10 for breakfast, great tasting , awesome service and now on my list as the normal place for me to eat breakfast , the hotel's breakfast really sucks and I'm having to source a better meal .. found one in Erie and will be back .. thanks for making this guy happy and welcomed read more

Not a bad breakfast place at all. Super convenient and close to my mom's house so that is definitely a plus. We went on a weekday so it wasn't busy and we got a booth table the one of our choosing right away. I will say that I have been here on the weekends and the weekends are a lot busier with more of a wait time. The servers are super friendly and your coffee will be kept full without much attention. Sometimes it felt like my coffee even though I was drinking it stay the same amount. That's good service in my eyes. The menu is actually pretty big for the size of the place. But my I caught those Cajun eggs and I went for it. While it was really good I think that it was a little bit too filling and big for my appetite. I don't think that I would order it again just because it was a lot of food. Which honestly, usually isn't a problem with me but breakfast food I usually don't like to eat that heavy a meal. And I would like to add that I like my home fries extra crispy and I did tell the lady that and they came out to perfection. I hate mushy home fries and I always tell the waitress that I want them very crispy. That's why I know this place was good because they listen to me and they serve them exactly how I wanted. I look forward to exploring more of the menu every time I'm home and I think that everyone should at least try this place out once. Writing this review because of my mother's boyfriend's lack of internet service. He was there on Sunday morning, 10/29, and had a waitress that refused to wait on him and someone else had to be found to serve him. That waitress was very quick with his food, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. This happens every time my mom and her boyfriend come in because she has her place where she likes to sit and the same waitress ignores them every time. We were looking for a breakfast spot close to our destination in Erie,Pa. after reading the reviews we thought this place would be great, and we were right! When we arrived at the small, cozy restaurant, the line was out the door and packed. However, we were seated relatively quickly, due to their "all parties must be present to be seated policy." The menu was not overwhelming, which helps when you are as indecisive as I am! I had the Cajun eggs, which were delicious! I was worried they would be too spicy, but the seasoning was in point and extremely flavorful. My husband had the East side platter, which had huge thick pieces of bacon and breakfast sausage. I was very pleased with everything from start to finish. The staff though, is what really made our breakfast enjoyable, they are quick to refill your coffee and check up on you to make sure you don't need anything else.
