This place is an Erie staple! I love everything from their pancakes to the omelets! I wish they had a location in Fairview!

The restaurant was a little crowded but they had a person at the door who kept everything moving. The waitstaff was very good and friendly . The prices were very good as was the food . A strongly recommend this place . read more

We were in town for a family wedding, and I found this restaurant on Yelp. It seems to be a popular local spot.. Although the service was a little slower than expected, the food was really good! Very affordable breakfast for a family of four (compared to most chain restaurants). It has the ambiance of a typical mom-and-pop establishment! Nothing too fancy. read more

What a cute little diner! The servers were friendly and efficient. We were there in a Sunday morning and just barely beat the rush! The food was excellent minus one small exception... the home fries. Given the yumminess of the food I would have hoped for homemade home fries instead of frozen. But they had blackberry jelly which always makes me happy! I would definitely come back. read more

Used to come here every week when I was in school. If possible I like to stop by when I'm in town. Staff are always friendly and the food is always perfect. I don't know what they put in the pancakes but they might be the best I've ever had. read more

My wife and I were in the area and wanted to visit a nonchain restaurant for breakfast. We arrived at the Original Breakfast Place around 8AM on a Sunday. We were promptly seated. I ordered Terri's Big Breakfast with sausage, home fries, Italian toast and pancakes (see picture). I wish the home fries were homemade but everything was delicious so I didn't feel it was worth losing a star. My wife had the eggs and hash. We both enjoyed our meals. Very inexpensive overall, good service, and a tasty breakfast. I would definitely recommend and return! read more

Great unassuming dinner. Server was very friendly and the food was tasty. Also, what a bargain!

10/4/25: A great find for breakfast in the Erie/ North East area! This was our first time visiting this area and we're happy to find a welcoming family style restaurant for breakfast with friendly knowledgeable staff. They were bustling when we arrived, but still had some tables available as we were seated right away. Our food was delicious; fluffy pancakes, good sized omelet, delicious home fries and I noticed there was no grease left behind on the plates, so not a "greasy spoon." Definitely our go-to next time we're here! read more

Fast seating and attention to drinks. Waitress was happy and quick to take our order. The place has a great small town feel with old school decorations on the walls. Very reasonably priced options. A variety of choices and even options for those watching their weight to sub egg whites and turkey sausage. Would definitely go back but would bring a sweater as the A/C was working well this day. read more

Very poor service. Ordered food and it never came. Ended up putting the money for the order and a small tip on the table and walked out. Would not recommend this place if you want even average service. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and the place was not even busy yet. Could not even get my drink order correct which was only a water. read more

Great breakfast place. Had the east side breakfast plate that comes with sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns or home fries and toast. I got the hash browns, held the toast, ordered scrambled eggs. My mom had thr same and got medium over easy and Italian toast. She liked hers as well. The sausage was outstanding and I am not a sausage person. Get the sausage!! read more

Always quick service from servers and kitchen. Great basic breakfast food. We eat here several times a month.

Food and service are horrible. The food was inedible and the waitress never even checked on us

I have been here three times now and it is my must go to breakfast spot whenever I am visiting Erie! Everything is amazing from the breakfast sandwich to the Greek burgers and fries! An order of them even made it all the way home to Lancaster,PA. Staff is friendly and helpful and the ambiance just makes you feel like your in the "Cheese" of breakfast places. Side note the biscuits and gravy took me back to the south read more

Just leaving town and stopped by because it was right on our way. So glad we did! The prices were great and the food was delicious. All of the staff were friendly and explained what "Greek Sauce" was. Never heard of it before but it was awesome on and in an omelette. The kids loved all the signs in the wall. Thanks! read more

Had breakfast here today. I had country fried steak, eggs over easy, hash browns, coffee, white toast, and sausage. My partner had an omelette. Everything was really good. There weren't many people working but the service was still good. Those two ladies were busting it. The decor is exactly what you expect from a breakfast diner. read more

In Erie for a few days to decompress and chase Steelhead , the other place has been my go to but to be honest they were closed both days I was in town and I found the Original by defacto .. I travel fir a living and this place rates in my top 10 for breakfast, great tasting , awesome service and now on my list as the normal place for me to eat breakfast , the hotel's breakfast really sucks and I'm having to source a better meal .. found one in Erie and will be back .. thanks for making this guy happy and welcomed read more

The original breakfast place is a staple in Erie. Price is cheap and fair and good breakfast I will have time to stop this place 100 percent !

Not a bad breakfast place at all. Super convenient and close to my mom's house so that is definitely a plus. We went on a weekday so it wasn't busy and we got a booth table the one of our choosing right away. I will say that I have been here on the weekends and the weekends are a lot busier with more of a wait time. The servers are super friendly and your coffee will be kept full without much attention. Sometimes it felt like my coffee even though I was drinking it stay the same amount. That's good service in my eyes. The menu is actually pretty big for the size of the place. But my I caught those Cajun eggs and I went for it. While it was really good I think that it was a little bit too filling and big for my appetite. I don't think that I would order it again just because it was a lot of food. Which honestly, usually isn't a problem with me but breakfast food I usually don't like to eat that heavy a meal. And I would like to add that I like my home fries extra crispy and I did tell the lady that and they came out to perfection. I hate mushy home fries and I always tell the waitress that I want them very crispy. That's why I know this place was good because they listen to me and they serve them exactly how I wanted. I look forward to exploring more of the menu every time I'm home and I think that everyone should at least try this place out once. It has the feel of a small City Diner and the service is pretty great. Good food and good service what more can you ask for. read more

Food was pretty average nothing to really say service wasn't bad prices were acceptable.

Writing this review because of my mother's boyfriend's lack of internet service. He was there on Sunday morning, 10/29, and had a waitress that refused to wait on him and someone else had to be found to serve him. That waitress was very quick with his food, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. This happens every time my mom and her boyfriend come in because she has her place where she likes to sit and the same waitress ignores them every time. Somehow I doubt they're the only customers that have experienced this. read more

Good food, service and atmosphere. In the short time we were in Erie, we went there twice for breakfast.
