Angie's Hot Mess Breakfast

We tried this dinor for the first time today. Food was excellent and the service was quick. I think I have found my new favorite breakfast spot!

Griddle Breakfast Platter was amazing! Best diner I've been to for breakfast! A must try for breakfast!

Slow service but worth the wait! Had to wait about 50 minutes for food but it was so good. Had pancakes and omelette sand both were delicious. The home fries were the best I have tasted. Funky cool atmosphere - old school retro vibe.

Zodiac had great food and hugehugehuge portions for a not so shocking price. Definitely my kind of place. The omelettes were large, the banana bread French toast was uniquely delicious and all the other stuff I tried was pretty fab. If the place were better kept they could swing a 4. Friendly staff, but it didn't look like they had washed the floor in months and I swear I might have seen some cobwebs in the corner. Eeeeek.

Huge omelet and amazing biscuits and gravy

So glad that our group ran into this place! We were in PA for the weekend and on the way home we all had a taste for brunch. Found this place and decided to take the plunge. Not too far off the freeway and definitely worth it! Each of us had a different item and we all received just what we asked for. They even got the over easy eggs right! The veggie omelet was LOADED with fresh veggies(plus I added ham) and cheese. Not overly greasy either. I got the side of home fries and they were spot on! My friends got the big dipper and everything was cooked exactly as requested. High quality ingredients and nice and crispy bacon! Last but not least the coffee was perfect for breakfast. Not the best, but hot and serviceable. This place gets 5 stars for their breakfast options, not the coffee. Great place! If you are driving through Erie, PA and want to stay away from crazy peach street exit this is a spot where you won't be disappointed!

Zodiac Dinor cook, please learn how to cook asparagus.

I've wanted to try Zodiac Dinor for a long time (about 3 years) but it was always closed when we were driving by. So I stopped in for lunch today and unfortunately it wasn't worth the anticipation. I ordered an omelette that was on their signature list, I can't remember the name but it had asparagus, spinach, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, and mozzarella. Yum, right? Wrong! First, it was bland. Please, stop leaving out salt, cooks. If someone has an issue with it they will request that you leave it out of their food. The majority of us like it and some of us actually require it in our diets. Second, there was a definite lack of roasted red pepper in my dish, there were maybe 2 pieces. And finally, the asparagus. Any cook worth their paycheck, in fact anyone who has cooked the vegetable known as asparagus knows to bend the bunch and when it breaks you discard (or for the more creative among us in the kitchen you make into soup) the bottom portion. They are woody and virtually inedible. It wouldn't have been a huge issue if they were just in spear form separate on my plate, but they weren't. They were in my omelette where everything contained therein should be, if not bite-sized, at least edible. I'm usually happy to spend money if I don't have to cook. But when I could've made it better at home, it's just a waste.

Tea with honey!

I didn't think too much into the reservation but when I showed up it was definitely not the place I recall (now known as Pier 6) but I recall looking at photos that it would be worth checking it out. We were promptly seated and greeted by the waitress. The lunch menu is brief with a few items in each section of Apps, salads, sandwiches and plates. We opted for the calamari as we heard it was a good app to start with. At the same time we ordered drinks which consisted of coffee, Expresso martini and the aperol spritz. The calamari came out and it was a good amount. However, they were very small and it was dry. We got the perch sandwich and it came out with an enormous amount of shoe string fries which imo are the worse type as they are typically over fried and so were these. Frying a good filet of fish is usually a bad idea and this sandwich would be better served to be grilled when your fries are fried and the calamari is fried too. Service was slow for being an empty restaurant. Note: we had a 4 year old with us and the key is to always rush their food asap so they stay content. Since we waited a bunch of time, we had some ancy people at the table after 1 hour 45 minute lunch where the room was essentially empty. Much improvement can be had otherwise spend your dollars at Pier 6 for a much better experience.

The space itself is small enough to feel cozy with plenty of seating options, including high-top and low-top tables, two couches, and a bar along the front window, which is great for people who want to spend some time there. There are plenty of outlets and two private bathrooms, both stocked with sanitary products. Drink wise, you won't find an elaborate list of over the top designer lattes here but they do have a seasonal beverage or two and a variety of syrups (rose, lavender, caramel, etc) you can add to enhance your drink. I'm a sucker for their mocha. It's so rich and delicious without being heavy or overly sweet. They also have some baked goods & some of the best ice cream sandwiches I've ever had. Recently, Ember & Forge installed a free food pantry outside, another reflection of their deep commitment to our community. It's easy to feel good supporting a business like that.

We planned a weekend in Erie (from Northeast Ohio) and a stop here for lunch was intended to be a highlight. Imagine our shock, dismay and a bit of anger when we arrived to find Enrique's closed. Every app we checked showed them to be open. They were not... But a lot of other businesses were closed as well. Doesn't seem to make sense on a Saturday? The places that were open were not busy, so maybe it's a weekday spot... Hours should be posted accordingly. However, there were bright spots! The cheese steak place was cooking a delicious looking sandwich, when I walked by. Our friends really enjoyed their noodle bowls, as well. We decided to order from the Dominican restaurant and her food was AMAZING! Roasted pork, mixed rice and fried sweet plantains. Flavor was out of this world. The pizza place has a solid selection of drafts. I had a cider that was excellent.
