I've never had a bad meal maybe once BUT still worth it! The service is great, never cheap on the portions. Nice place to sit and enjoy your meal. Not loud or crowded

Damn the food fell off so bad!! Pernil no taste at all! Steak and peppers aka jaw work out. The hardest chewiest meat ever! Rice thank god I asked for some beef stew gravy cause it was dry AF. The only thing I ate was the chicken soup. THE PICTURE was before I threw that whole thing in the garbage. SMF disappointed!

Best service Friendly staff Always busy, place your orders with time Even then they're pretty quick since they have a buffet line of food Other meats/ fish get done on the spot, always just made fresh & delicious food Quantity is enough for two with most orders but we never share because it's so good we appreciate the left overs Authentic Dominican/ Hispanic flavor food Never a bad experience! & I come here super often !!

They have the food already made, and everything looked delicious. I recommend to come early it's 11am and everything looks fresh.

I came in for Dominican breakfast, it was empty and I noticed that they are very clean. The person helping me was wearing a mask and gloves. The food smelled delicious so I'd definitely come back to try something different. This is one of the only places that makes Dominican breakfast and a " chimi " (Dominican burger )

If you're looking for good Dominican food in LI, then you've come to the right spot! My wife and I were in LI to run some errands and we found Dominican Restaurant 5 on Yelp. OK, so the name is not exactly that creative, but the food here is as legit as it gets if you want to satisfy your Dominican food cravings. We dropped in at about 1:30pm and there were only a few folks inside with a few customers going in and out every few minutes. The restaurant was pretty small and there was a buffet-style counter to order from on the right and some booth seats to the left of the entrance. The aroma of the food absolutely overwhelmed our nasal passages and because we were starving we wanted EVERYTHING behind the counter! The process of ordering was very simple. First, we picked our carb (white rice, white rice and peas or yellow rice and peas). Next, the reason why you're here -- the meat! And then finally, the server fills up the rest of your plate (or box for take-out) with a small salad. The missus and I ended up ordering the white rice and kidney beans with beef stew and the white rice and black beans with pernil. Now you might ask why did we order white rice? Simple .... because you cannot add beans to your rice if you decide to order one of the other types of rice. So our verdict? First, the serving sizes of the dishes were incredible. Since we took the orders to go, we had boxes overflowing with rice and meats. The amount of food served was so large that we were able to eat some of it for lunch and still have a full dinner in the evening --- I kid you not. Oh, and did I mention that each plate came with 3 sweet plantains as well? Yes sir! Second, the rice and beans were excellent and the meats were good. The beef stew could have been a bit more tender and, as expected, the pernil was a bit dry, but as juicy as can be considering it was pernil. Also, at first, the server didn't give me a piece of skin or pork drippings, so I actually had to ask her to throw some in my dish. To sum it up, we could not have asked for more in terms of getting our bang for our buck. It came out to approximately $8.50 per plate, but since we were able to spread it out over 2 meals, it really came out to $4.25 a meal! Seriously?! And the food was right on point too with the flavors, quality and authenticity. We'll definitely be keeping Dominican Restaurant 5 in the back of our heads whenever traveling thru this part of LI.

This is a great place. The food is always fresh, and yummy. The portions are big, and the pricing is fair.

My friend and I were in the area, hungry, and stumbled upon this gem on Jericho turnpike. We…read morethought the name was funny and the outside of the premises looked really nice so we pulled in. Upon entering it felt like we were going into some exclusive nightclub. The outdoor dining section is covered and beautifully decorated with tropical flowers and plants. It looks like something from the Caribbean. If the weather was cooperative we would've asked to sit outside. The inside ambiance was nice too. There's a lot of natural light that comes in from the large windows and skylight. Again flowers and chandeliers adorn the space. There are also decorative carving figures mounted in the back wall. A DJ came in and was mixing Latin music which gave an upbeat vibe. I truly felt like I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic. The food was even better than the ambiance. We really were sure what we wanted to order but after speaking with our waitress we both ordered Mama Fango stuffed with meat. This is a dish consisting of sweet plantains mashed, seasoned, and fried into a little bowl shape then stuffed with your meat of choice. I went with the white chicken. The flavors were complex and overall delicious. The white sauce is like an Alfredo with cilantro. It is a very filling dish and I ate every last bite. My friend ordered the same but filled with churrasco. The meat was tender and rich with flavor. If you are celebrating a birthday, then this is the place to be. They make such a scene with light up signs and cakes and singing... the whole place becomes a party. I've never seen anything like this before and it was great! My Cuatro Leches cake came with a candle and happy birthday written in raspberry jam across the plate. The caramel top was a nice touch and complimented the cake well. The best part was the service. Our waitress, Laura really made this visit special. She was upbeat and attentive. She had excellent recommendations and was very accommodating. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend to others!

The decor is lively and there's a very "Instagramable" spot in the back with floral decor. It is a bit pricey but to be expected for a hangout joint like this. Our servers were attentive and prompt. Got introduced to this wonderful Cuban restaurant when they were in Queens over 30 years ago. They…read moreclosed that location and now operate out of Huntington and New Hyde Park. Their food, service and hospitality has been always been five star. So when something is so good why change, just expand. We visit the Huntington location quite often. We start with Pina Coladas and Cuba Libre (rum and coke), for appetizers the chorizo and tamales. While there is an assortment of meats, fish and chicken, our favorite is the ropa veija, tender shredded beef in a wonderful sauce with the best steamed white rice and of course madoros. Another hit of ours is the breaded steak and my new favorite, the broiled flounder. Our next dish will be the paella. Just need to call ahead. The Flan, Tres Leches cake and Cuban coffee is always a good ending. The service is always top notch. Red and white table cloths. A bar area with a separate dining area. You may even be lucky to catch a unique celebration song and dance by one of the staff. Make sure you have your camera ready. And a special thank you to Raul. The last time we were there, I tried a new dish that was good, but not something that enjoyed. Don't you know it, Raul surprised me and sent me home with a serving of Ropa Vieja. Thank you Raul.
