We decided to come here on a Thursday night! What a hidden gem, dimly lit, and perfect for date night! There were a group of four girls, we opted for Micheladas which were not on the menu, but Miguel our waiter said "no problem, we will make them for you!" We had a picadera which had delicious fried cheese, longaniza (Doninican sausauge) chicharrones de pollo (fried chicken) and delicious pieces of steak, along with tostones (fried plantains) paired with yummy sauces on the side. Sorry we didn't take pics but this place is a MUST! The music was so good!!! And although there weren't many people here the place was amazing! Miguel was attentive, charming, and such a nice guy! Extremely disappointed in the management of this place. We arrived an hour and a half before closing and we were turned down at the door. According to the manager, the location was at capacity, but we could see through the window that it was not. Went there on a Sunday for a brunch party and it sucked. They promoted their event to start at 1-5, when we arrived there at 1, we were told we couldn't park in their parking lot (1st red flag) ok whatever. When we finally entered their back patio, they were still setting up and the dj wasn't there. For 39.99 per person their bunch menu was boring and they don't serve their full menu until after 6. I would have to give this place another shot but I recommend skipping any "event" they have. read more

I stumbled on this restaurant thanks to the Sushi Ninja, creator of the sushi aplatanao (look him up) and boy, was this a hidden gem!!! The Ambience: small place but full of fun. Dj in placed eager to play any and all songs of your choice. They also have hookah to add to the entertainment. The Food: my husband and I had the Yola and ceviche appetizer along with the La Pela and Taki Taki Special rolls. Everything was beautifully plated and of course, delicious. First and foremost... the food and cocktails I had at La Terraza were AMAZING! Compliments to the chef and the bartender. Food: For the appetizer I had the Calamari, entree I had the Churrasco La Terraza and for dessert I had the Guava Tres Leches. Everything I had was cooked to perfection, great portion and had very nice presentation. Cocktails: I tried a cucumber margarita, mango margarita and the red sangria. All delicious and made with fresh ingredients (no sour mix!) I honestly can't wait to go back to try more cocktails. The bartender definitely knows his stuff. I love the use of fresh garnish on all the cocktails too. Service: From beginning to end, the staff was very friendly, courteous, professional and catered to my party as expected. I could not have asked for more from wait staff. Location: This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Nice ambiance, everything is new and nicely decorated. It's located in a commercial area right across from elevated LIRR train tracks, easy to find using my gps. I don't recommend this place at all well definitely not for big groups . They clearly can't accommodate a big group at all this was so sad . I made a reservation for Valentine's Day for me and my girlfriend. I called and said I might be late but the man on the phone was so nice about it I couldn't wait to get there because the service seemed great. Food was very good, but our service was awful. People who sat down 30 minutes after us were getting there drinks and food way before we did. We still had our entrees sitting on the tables while they were closing out the check. My friends & I felt racially profiled as soon as we stepped into the building being that the hostess rolled her eyes after she seen our completed group reenter the restaurant. We finally get seated & they take forever to bring our hookah stating there must be a bottle on the table before our hookah was sent. Both items came at the same time. Food was ok. I ordered garlic salmon. Told us no dancing was aloud in there restaurant although thats the type of music they was playing. I'm giving it 3 stars because the service was very slow, none of the staff made eye contact with us or asked if we wanted to see a menu or if we wanted drinks. Although we were waiting for more people in our party to arrive, they should have taken our drinks order and or appetizers. Finally after an hour, we got someone to take our order. The food was really good! The presentation is super cute and the plates are very creative and taste. I had heard good things about this restaurant and convenced the hubby to try it on a Friday night. I was a bit surprised, the location to start off was dark, we actually drove past it. We thought about going in not really sure it was open but we ventured in. It was dim lightly more of a lounge bar feel. A few people at the bar and a hookah available for the patrons. We were greeted by a waitress decked out Who graciously seated us, since we were the only ones there to eat we had a choice of the tables. The menu selection is short pretty Simple it covered all the food groups and tropical disb es. We ordered the steak and mofongo and tostones sliders. Up to this point not sure how it was going to go but if the drinks (passion fruit monitors) was an indicator it was going to be great. I was right besides the taste the presentation was Xpectacular! Prepared perfectly medium rare. The server was great and attentive. I gave it only the three only on the fact that it was more a club scene since after 10 it turns into one. Had to remove a star because they ran out of dessert aaaaand 3 drinks that we wanted to try.. BUT they did treat us to a drink on the house which was cool. A friend and I went to dinner on a Friday night, @ 7pm. The place was live, great music, great food, little bar and lounge. Pretty disappointed with this place. Drove an hour and a half from Brooklyn to try it out since it seemed like a pretty cool place from Instagram. I could tell the Mac and cheese was not baked enough because the bread crumbs were barely browned/ cooked. Also, there was barely any longaniza in it. The entrees were a bit better. The drinks were pretty weak and we asked for something basic, but it had way too much lime. The waiter or host was told multiple times that we were there and waiting to be seated before he acknowledged us since he was on his phone--maybe playing with the music. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, dessert, or hookah and it was pretty empty in there. Overall, our whole experience could be improved and will likely not be back. read more

I tried this place twice so far, first time I was not a fan of my margarita drink that I had, it was okay but expected it to be better since I hear great things. I ordered their chicken tacos they were delicious. The experience was okay but I did want to try it out once again. For my second time, we started with drinks and everyone at my table ask for a frozen passion fruit margarita and when we got the drinks it wasn't frozen, it was really watery like if you left a slushy out for too long in the sun. It taste better than the last time I went so I didn't mind, then I order a from their small plate menu and got tostones in a form of a mofongo which includes pork guacamole and add on, I ask the waiter if I could get chicken instead of pork she said that was no problem. Once I got my food and starting eating it I noticed it was pork and told the waiter as she took my plate and said sorry she must forgot to write it down. Then brings the same plate back and says that they can't adjust the order, which I didn't mind if she would of told me from the beginning cause I would of just ordered something else. She was really nice and offered me something else if I wanted but since my guest we're almost done eating I wasn't going to wait for another dish, so I just took the pork out and ate the rest. Then she offered me a drink because she felt bad which I thought was really nice of her but we were finished with everything so I didn't take it. So once the the bill came I noticed we got charged for an extra drink and she apologize and adjusted it for us. The quality of the food is amazing just feel like the service could be better.
