Doly's Delectables is a must-visit if you're in Long Beach! I started with the avocado toast, which was seasoned to perfection! They're known for their croissants, and it's easy to see why: buttery, flaky, and absolutely delicious. The real highlight, though, was catching them on a day they made fresh cinnamon rolls. Warm, soft, and with the loveliest hint of lemon woven through the flavor. Honestly one of the best cinnamon rolls I've had. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Been wanting to try this precious little gem. Bought a breakfast burrito and it was so good. At 12 noon they have what they call "happy hour" for the pastries ! I'm in love with the architecture/vibes! The sunroom affect and of course an older building! Service.... So welcoming and friendly!
Just what I needed on a Wednesday morning. I finally got to try this place out while on a long walk w my doggos. Staff was so sweet to my rambunctiously vocal pups. I was craving a simple, delicious and filling breakfast sandwich and that's exactly what I got. I ordered the breakfast sandwich w no ham (I don't eat meat) and subbed tomatoes, on a croissant. It was perfect. The coffee looked good too. I'll def come back for another sando and I'll try a tea and or a matcha next time.
I decided it's about time that I finally visit DoLy's Delectables, and I'm so glad that I did! Pain au chocolat is one of my favorite breakfast pastries, and so I happily obliged in trying one at DoLy's. It is now one of my favorite pain au chocolat in Long Beach! The buttery, flakey layers are absolutely and insanely delicious. Well done! This is the type of pastry that dreams are made of. I'll come back to try the croissant and cinnamon twist!
I had no idea that this was here, until my wife forwarded me a recent article in the Long Beach Post about DoLy's celebrating 15 years. Stopped in during a morning walk, picking up some of my favorite pastries/desserts. They were good, worth including in our rotation of pastry/donut shops in Long Beach. A portmanteau of the husband/wife owner's last names, DoLy's Delectables is located in downtown Long Beach, on the first floor of an office building. The inside is surprisingly large, with uncramped seating. They serve a variety of hot and cold caffeinated beverages, allowing a leisurely coffee house atmosphere. Someone offered to help right away, letting me take my time. I did find what I was looking for (almond croissant for $5.75), and added a couple of other things on a whim: Chocolate Almond Croissant ($5.75) and mini single serving creme brulee ($3.50), torched when you order. Brought everything home, and took sample bites to confirm that they were as good as they looked. Mission accomplished! Also learned that during the last hour of being open (noon to 1 pm, M-Sa), all remaining pastries are 50% off. That would turn them into a great deal.
I came around lunch time to get a matcha latte that was priced reasonably. I got it the regular way with whole milk and two stevia. This was the worst matcha latte I have ever had. As you can see in the picture the matcha is not mixed well and for $5.25 it is not worth it. Even if you try and mix it doesn't work. The employees were not that friendly, they make you feel rushed. The inside is clean. I will probably not be back.
I was in the area for a convention, and was looking for a quick breakfast before heading over to the convention center. We found this location through a quick maps search and saw it was on the way so we decided to try out their food and coffee. It's a fairly small space with no frills, but there was plenty of seating inside, and it seems like most just take their orders to go anyways. The staff friendly enough, and aside from slightly slower service, I didn't find anything wrong with my experience. They have a decent case of baked goods, as well as breakfast sandwich options. While nothing was out of this world, their food was solid and a great value for the price! Their coffee wasn't anything special to me, but they had a few milk options and syrups for their lattes and it got the job done. I think that if you're looking for a quick, no fuss option for coffee and breakfast this would be a great spot. I noticed that they had many regulars, and if I lived in the area I would probably be one too. It's a great local spot, and if you're just looking for a decent start to your morning you can't really go wrong here.
Definitely more of a pastry spot than a coffee one. I wouldn't go back for the coffee since the cold brew tasted off, but the pastries looked great and there were plenty of options. They do 50% off near closing, which is the best time to visit. Staff were very friendly, and it's a nice place to stop by for a light snack. This is a small bakery cafe' I accidentally discovered in downtown Long Beach. It is located on Broadway, near the Promenade. They have half dozen tables to sit at, almost of the business I observed was takeout. They do have a steady clientele coming into the shop. We had coffee and elected to stay to visit a bit. The coffee is pretty ordinary...nothing special. The assortment of baked goods looks tempting. They seem to specialize in French Macrons. Parking is metered on the street. $1.50 p/hr. The lady who appears to be the owner was very nice.
Great people ! The owners are very nice and know you by name if you go there long enough Happy hour is from 12-1 half off their amazing pastries ,only thing is they sell out super fast I come here at least once a week if not everyday ! Try their homemade cookies ! Always fresh !

Mmmmm French macarons.... *drool* At $1.50 a piece, it's half the price of Bouchon Bakery and pretty darn good. PARKING Metered or parking lot (need to pay). The lot directly to the left of DoLy's Delectables charges $1 for 30 minutes and you need to leave your keys with the operator. SWEET TREATS *French Macarons - $1.50. Flavors: raspberry, coconut, orange chocolate, salted caramel (this one was the best) *Cupcakes - $2. Only tried the caramel pecan; the cupcake itself was moist but I wasn't impressed by the frosting, I ended scraping almost all of it off and picking off the soggy pecans. I wanted to try more items because everything looked great, but I needed some self control because it'll make the next trip here worth the wait. Service was super friendly. Only suggestion would be to put little signs for the different flavors because we had to ask what each macaron and cupcake was. There's free wifi, but I didn't try it out. 3.5 for now since I think I'll be back and try Doly's macaroons on my own. I had 3 pieces of their macaroons togo (Vietnamese coffee, raspberry lemon and blueberry flavors). I love macaroons and it seems like they're pretty hard to find and buy. You can go to Beverly Hills for some high end ones or you can go to France for the best macaroons you'll ever try or even go to Bottega Louis (typo?) for some pretty good macaroons. I thought Doly's macaroons weren't too bad. That's why I'm giving them 3.5 stars. The macaroons were a big soft and soggy since they had flavored jelly in the middle. I'll be back to pick up more fresh ones in the near future. To be continued.... read more

I'm so glad I found this wonderful Cafe in Long Beach! Though unassuming from the outside, I honestly was so surprised by how delicious their baked goods are and have not had baked goods so delicious like this here in Southern California. I specifically ordered the almond croissant as well as the chocolate croissant and I am in love with this place! Their pastries are just so tasty and crisp, and you can tell that a lot of work was put into making them the very best that they can be :-) I definitely recommend getting the Almond croissant and chocolate croissant when you pass by here. I'm also glad that they are following proper coronavirus prevention methods. Please support this business and their amazing Bakers! read more

Came here to try the quiche. Its looks very cool as they are individual pies. I got one and it was very flavorful. However, it was more crust than egg. It was more like I was eating a buttery pie crust with a quiche layer. Since the pie was so thin I was executing a thin crust. While I was there I did notice they sell sandwiches. I asked if those were on french banquette and it appear they are on regular bread or a croissant. read more

Came by here with my husband last Saturday morning a little after 9 am. We parked on the street and paid $2 for 2 hours worth of parking (but there is free parking in a parking structure on 3rd street, 2 hours worth and just a short walk from Doly's. We didn't park here because we didn't know about it til after we decided to walk around after our breakfast) (By the way, this place is located right next to a $10 flat fee parking lot, don't waste your money parking there). My husband ordered a side of hasbrowns to have it added inside the burrito. The burrito was good but just average and really nothing special to mention further. ($3.95 prior to tax) Side order of Hashbrown: Small thin patty of potato, tasted just fine ($1.00 prior to tax) Hot Tea: Nothing special about this either, but was nice to help walk us up for the morning ($1.40 prior to tax) 1 dozen macaroons ($15) with the following flavors: -Coffee: I am not much of a coffee person but my husband enjoyed it. This really did taste like one of those Vietnamese coffee drinks, but in cookie form. -Birthday Cake: This is blue with sprinkles on it and I loved this macaroon. This cookie really did taste like a bite of birthday cake. -Green Tea: This had an excellent light sweet flavor. -Salted Caramel: This was better than other salted caramel macaroons that I have had at other places. It really had the right balance of sweet and saltiness. -Toasted Sesame: This was just average (tasted sweet), nothing really special about it to me. -Lemon Raspberry: The color of this macaroon is quite eye catching, as the 2 cookies are bright yellow and the filling is a bright red. I liked how this tasted, with a lemony taste and a nice light tarty raspberry flavor. -Pistachio: Sweet, but average. Very artificial tasting. -Coconut: Liked this flavor, but seemed a bit sweeter than other coconut flavored macaroons that I have had. -Raspberry: Liked the sweetness of this macaroon. -Strawberry: Liked the light sweet strawberry flavor. -Blueberry: Lightly sweet, but did not taste like blueberry to me. Just average. -Grape: Lightly sweet, but did not taste like grape to me. Just average. Total damage= $22.89 Overall, the macaroons are what would make me come back here and probably just that. I am not a big pastry person, but there are quite a bit to choose from in their display case. Service was very friendly. Place is clean and there are a handful of tables and chairs. There is also free wifi here (but I did not use it, so can't tell you if it was fast or not). By the way, there is a unisex restroom in here in case you need to use it. One last thing to mention, right after we placed our order and sat down at a table (to wait for our breakfast burrito & our hash brown side order) the place started to get busy and a line started to form rather quickly. read more

This is a nice little place with very warm n friendly hosts. You can get any of the breakfast sandwiches in a croissant instead of the bagel. The food is fresh and hot. I was staying in a hotel nearby and walked down to this place. I would say it was a good decision. read more

Amazing pastries and delicious lattes! The outside of the building does not look appealing, but the inside is beautiful decorated with tables to have your coffee. The blue berry pinwheel pastry was on point especially for someone who loves cheese Danish pastry. I ordered a vanilla latte and the espresso shot was perfect, the drink was not too sweet nor too bitter. Great customer service .Will be visiting again :) read more

About time I review this joint. I probably ate here 4 times already. This is a great choice for breakfast where baked items are tasty and fresh. Croissants and coffee. The egg croissant was decadent and so flaky and buttery, instant addiction. Prices are great as well. Doly will be missed. read more

Gina C, thanks for posting pics of these irresistible "delectables," where this 5-Foot Frenzy spontaneously went on a bookmarked, macaron quest on such a breezy, gorgeous Thursday afternoon in the LBC. Damn, I really miss writing a review on a place from one of my beloved cities... Before I mention my Current Crush, DoLy's Delectables is situated in a huge white building, & it has a semi-tiny, coffeehouse environment that boasts in breakfast goodies, croissants, sandwiches, cupcakes (including RVC) & this: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/int_f3Tk7RCv5G-0tkvVIg?select=ihh8VT2gmXYkvetegQznKg. It also has a private lot (paid, however) adjacent to it, where I "purposefully" parked a couple blocks away from. That said, at $1.50 each, where you get 2 free if you buy 10, only 8 of the 9 flavors were present xP. All 8 have the silky, smooth, glossy, & milky ganache, & not to worry, Roland L, there were plenty between the "sandwiches" =). But sigh, I was pretty morose when the Vietnamese Coffee flavor quickly disappeared, but despite my hapless visit w/ this interesting flavor for a macaron, I tried these following individuals, from MY least favorite to most: 8. Salty Caramel: Sorry, I don't click w/ this one. I haven't tried Paulette's version yet, but I disliked how it's saltier than the title of this cookie, although it had the legit, gooey caramel goop. 7. Pistachio: Don't make me repeat what I said about the one in Pascal Epicerie -_-. 6. Blueberry: I have mixed feelings b/c I had to deeply, deeply delve w/ my taste buds on the blueberry ganache, & I wasn't sure if I was supposed to try super hard just to find that flavor. Eventually I got it--incredibly subtle, I'd say. 5. Chocolate: Yep, that's what I call a chocolate cookie, macaron-style xP. 4. Strawberry: Aww that gave me a good nostalgic feel--in high school I'd occasionally get the Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bar at the vending machine. It's a bit too sweet, but I rather eat this than a factory-packaged berry cookie anytime! 3. Lemon Raspberry: If you love lemon, trust me on how yummy this was. 2. Coconut: It's definitely NOT my desired taste in general, unless it's curry or bibingka. But, I couldn't believe how impressed I was w/ this...I'm also confident to say that coconut-admirers MUST devour this real deal whenever they have a chance! 1. Pomegranate: It wondrously reminded me of my favorite drink at Jamba Juice--Pomegranate Pick-Me-Up. This cookie, in other words, presented a potently perfect punch, & it's definitely a pick-em-up-again ^_^. So how about texture? Well, the nerd inside me experimented these guys at different times, as in, eating 1 right after being packed in that plastic tray, or 1 eaten ~ an hour after out of the fridge, which you're supposed to do if you can't eat all the macarons in 1 sitting. My preference is savoring a 'lil more than 1/2 an hour after the fridge-exit, but regardless of temperature I was utterly shocked when these tasties have virtually the same @ss cookie texture as Paulette's o_O: delicately doughy inside & thinly crisp on out, w/o leaving those annoying, scattered crumbs. Conclusively, I absolutely love how DoLy's have certain flavors that Paulette hasn't made--but also vice versa. From this nice distinction I will consider DoLy's of LBC a super close tie to the all-time empress of French Macarons of So Cal =P. 4.5 stars!! read more
Searching for a different vantage point from the ever popular 'Lette Macarons, fellow Yelper Fia R and I came to this bakery to grab a few French macarons on one afternoon. The interior was airy, well lit, and clean. There was a large counter with several baked goods still on display. Included was the eye-catching macarons coming in all sorts of colors and shades. They cost $1.50 each, so we got a few and sat by the sunny window to try them all. We got the Red Velvet, Blueberry, Green Tea, Chocolate, Almond, Tiramisu, Salted Caramel, Spiced Pumpkin, and Vietnamese Coffee. Some of the flavors were more spot on than others, but I liked them all. I especially enjoyed the red velet, almond, salted caramel, and spiced pumpkin flavors. When it comes to macarons, it all comes down to the texture, which I tend to look for ones that crumbles easily on the first bite, follow by a soft chewy center, then the creamy ganache to provide a pop and surge and bring its flavor to a focus. Comparing to 'Lette, the quality is not too far apart. The size of these macarons were slightly larger, the price more affordable, but the texture was missing the airy chew and the pop in flavor that makes 'Lette the standard for excellence. Value-wise, I still consider these macarons superior to all other small bakeries, and slightly above grade when compared to Frances. Wi-Fi is available even though no one was studying there at the time of visit. Service was friendly, quick, and efficient. They provide a nice plastic box to hold the macarons together, which I consider a nice bonus since it's something that 'Lette typically charges. All said, I'm definitely interested in returning for more. read more
What is a perfect breakfast? Not sure if I ever had a perfect breakfast but my breakfast was pretty close to perfection that day. How did I know this bakery before? Nick H told me about this gem and said I really need to go there and try its macaron and croissant. I said yes to macaron but no to croissant. The only croissant I like is from Vie de France @ South Coast Plaza. Croissant for me is just greasy, flaky bread. I got Salted Caramel macaron, Vietnamese Coffee macaron and Chocolate Amond Croissant. Salted Caramel Macaron: Almost as good as Europane salted caramel macaron. I could really taste the salt. 4 stars!! Vietnamese Coffee Macaron: very light coffee but I could taste the strong milk. For me this is not Cafe Sua Da macaron; it should be just milk coffee macaron. 3.5 stars!! Chocolate Almond Croissant: I didn't eat this right away and it was still flaky and crispy. So damn good. Fresh, flaky and not greasy. I thought I was eating flaky bread. This for sure one of my favorite croissants now. 4 stars!! I really like the ambiance at this place. The Great SoCal Macaron Throwdown Stop #2! In case you missed this: http://www.yelp.com/biz/french-market-cafe-venice#hrid:CgH_WPL-PdFX6mtszpAdoA Stop #2 was two weeks in the making. You see, I actually drove up to DoLy's from Beverly Hills 'Lette two weeks ago, arriving at their door at 3:05pm, only to notice the window sign stating they close at 3:00pm! I glanced inside and tried to get the attention of the young lady closing up shop, but she seemed to refuse to recognize my presence. Oh well! That did not deter me from making another trip to DoLy's Delectables for this throwdown! This time, I arrived at 2:40pm! w00t...you're not going to close on me this time! ;0) There is an adjacent private parking lot that that charges $1.00 for 30 minutes, but I was able to find metered curbside parking near DoLy's entrance that only required $.25 for this stop. There are plenty of these metered stalls, so parking in the private lot is only recommended if there is absolutely no vacant stalls. Entering DoLy's was rather pleasing to my visual and olfactory senses. There 'delectables' showcased in their display case were ever so enticing! The same young lady was there and a young gentleman was mixing in the background at the baking area. They were both extremely personable, greeting me with genuine cheer and a smile. LET THE THROWDOWN BEGIN!!! Throughout my throwdown, it appears my trend has been to not only purchase macarons. Reason being is that many of these bakeries/patisseries do more than just macarons. It really would be a crying shame to rate a business negative solely on their macarons if they offer much more! So in addition to the macarons, I decided to try DoLy's Pan au Chocolat, Custard Horn & Chocolate Horn, and Caffe Latte. Listed below are the macaron flavors tested: Vietnamese Coffee Coconut Blueberry Hazelnut Passion Fruit Tiramisu DoLy's Delectables' macarons were pretty impressive. They all had very distinct flavors, were perfectly sweet, and had the ideal cookie chew you'd expect of a fine macaron. Let's talk about two things that troubled me about DoLy's macarons, mind you, these traits were shared across all DoLy's macaron offerings: 1) What I did not care for was their shell. It was too crisp. When biting the macaron, it sounds like the crackling of super thick brûlée, and I think that had to do with the fact that there was a hollow air pocket separating the cookie from shell. This is not a characteristic of Ladurée or 'Lette macarons. 2) Also apparent was the inconsistent amount of filling in each DoLy macaron. Ladurée and 'Lette's macaron fillings contain a consistent amount of evenly spread filling. Further on the topic of filling, both Ladurée and 'Lette's ganache is superior to DoLy's fillings. Ladurée and 'Lette filling flavors are more precisely honed in, creating an illusion for your gustation sense that you are actually consuming the real food item, i.e, when eating a raspberry macaron, you have the taste sense of eating an actual raspberry. My favorite of DoLy's bunch oddly was the Vietnamese Coffee with condensed milk filling. DoLy's Delectables macaron rating: 4.5 stars On DoLy's pastries, here's a brief review of the Pan au Chocolat, Chocolate Horn, & Caffe Latte. Pan au Chocolat: 4.5/5 What a very remarkable chocolate croissant! So flakey, buttery and light, I just could eat it for days! They use the perfect amount of chocolate. Chocolate Horn: 4.25/5 So much chocolate cream inside this puff pastry shell! That's not a bad thing either. This was really scrumptious! Their puff pastry was firm yet a tad brittle, but not messy. Caffe Latte: 2.5/5 I had a difficult time finishing this large latte. There was a bitterness that was similar to a Starbucks latte. Concluding this leg of The Great SoCal Macaron Throwdown, the new holder of 2nd Place is DoLy's Delectables, followed by 3rd Place Pacific Bakery/XT Patisserie. Fia R and I stopped by here after another dining excursion to my favorite Thai restaurant in the LBC-Long Beach Thai Restaurant Yes, after much arm twisting (as I only eat sweets very rarely after losing over 60 pounds). There weren't many selections left but Fia scored: 1 Vietnamese Coffee Macaroon & 1 Raspberry Macaroon (she was munching them before I could check in! Me: I Pistachio Macaroon, 1 Raspberry and 1 Coconut. $1.50 each and if you buy a dozen you get 2 free (that will not happen to this Kirstie Alley NOT wanna be!) but, would be a nice touch to bring to a gathering. I saved mine for later that evening to be my emotional friend and I was pleased as a Playboy Bunny and, along with an iced cold glass of fat free milk ALL guilt was immediately eliminated! DoLy's is a great lil spot to sip on a cup of joe or grab a great pastry in Long Beach. My favorites are the almond cream cheese croissant with a caramel macchiato and macarons to go. The croissant is flaky and soft and the cream cheese is a great creamy addition. But my favorite is their Vietnamese coffee macarons with the condensed milk filling, it is absolutely to die for. Omg...so sweet and creamy. I know that they are smaller than macarons at other places but I do love the flavors they have and the smooth texture. The cookie is crisp on the outside but soft and creamy in the middle. They are on the sweeter side but that is perfect to satisfy my sweet tooth. There are plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy your pastries and coffee. Service is always on point with everyone being so nice and friendly which makes this a great place to go. There is metered parking right in front and I've never had a problem finding a spot. read more
For a gourmet neighborhood coffee/bakery shop - DoLy's Delectables is the place to go. i have tried everything; chai latte, vanilla latte, drip coffee, passion iced tea, blueberry muffins, chocolate chip muffins, grilled chicken salad and let's not forget the incredible assortment of macarons. I tried the green tea macaron and the grape/champagne macaron today and both were pretty great. The grape one tastes just like a grape candy and if you like that, you will love this macaron. I love how delicate and pretty the presentation is with sprinkles of sparkly sugar crystals. The Vietnamese coffee macaron is to die for. Salted Caramel macaron is amazing. Toasted coconut macaron -- girl, shut yo' mouth!! They also make cakes!!! i haven't flipped through their cake book but it looks like they can make all sorts of fun cakes for any occasion. You will also find greeting cards that are fun and cute - some made by grade school children. I love the friendly service and the excellent baked goods. After a visit to George's Greek restaurant in Long Beach, we sauntered over to DoLy's Delectables for a peek at their macarons that I just happened to know were there. I, like many others, am on a quest to find the "best" macaron. My search has taken me coast to coast, and I fear the search will be neverending.... but that's okay. I continue to tell myself they're "healthy." Gluten free, monosaturated fats (from ground almonds), smaller size...so less sugar. Is that all true? Maybe yes, maybe no, but the search goes on. DoLy's is a cute little shop, which sells a variety of croissants, muffins, and macarons. While they had a large display of macarons, they didn't necessarily have much to choose from based upon all the other items they list on their website. I saw a couple of croissant-like items and some muffins, but that was pretty much the extent of what was available today. I believe they may even sell breakfast and lunch foods, too, but we didn't see any, nor were we focused on that, either. They have beverages, as well, and a nice area with a decent amount of tables to sit at if you want to eat right there. We came for the macarons, and macarons we saw. There must've been about 20 flavors available. I would have preferred to have each flavor labeled. Instead, scribbled on a little 3x5 piece of paper were the flavors they offered....... and when I say scribbled, I mean it.... plus the writing was microscopic and was written in different felt pen colors. I didn't want to go digging for my glasses, so I squinted only to find I couldn't read the list and had the girl read them to me. I still wish each flavor was identified. In the end, I didn't see/hear any unique flavors like those found in NYC, but they still had a solid assortment of standard flavors to choose from, such as (let's see how good my memory is)..... Rose Lavender Violet Coffee Cinnamon (well, okay, this was is relatively unique and haven't seen elsewhere) Tiramisu (okay, so my memory sucks..... this one is kinda unique too) Passionfruit Coconut Salted Caramel (MAJOR BOO-HOO.... they were OUT OF THIS today !!) Blueberry Chocolate Strawberry Raspberry Vanilla Lemon Hazelnut Green Tea Of those, my husband and I split one each of Cinnamon, Tiramisu, Blueberry, Raspberry, Strawberry Vanilla, Hazelnut and Lemon. They were good, but they weren't my favorite by a longshot. I was intrigued by the texture. When I first bit into them, I thought they were going to be too hard and chewy, but then, they evolved into a nice, very slightly chewy, and even rather soft texture. I think overall, I'd still prefer something softer, more melt-in-your-mouth (yes, like 'Lette), but these weren't bad. As for the flavors, well, I didn't think they were strong on flavor. In fact, I had trouble telling sometimes what they were by taste, yet, because I knew what I had purchased, it was more an afterthought...... "this is the lemon...... oh yeah, NOW I taste it." Yet, it wasn't necessarily evident by taste alone. If that makes sense. I could tell right away which one the cinnamon was, but I wasn't all that impressed. Were it not for the faint sprinkling of cinnamon on top, I probably wouldn't have guessed. As for the other flavors we tasted, again, they were good, just not great. I didn't get to taste the salted caramel, which most rave about, so I don't know if that's the one that would make me swoon. I'm undecided if I'd go back again when in the area (as infrequent as that is). We'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, I'm glad I went and tried their macaron offerings. I love Macarons. I don't even know why I like them so much since they cost me a pretty penny but I can't seem to resist these beautiful little cookies. I've always stuck to my regular place but my friend wanted to check out DoLy's after lunch because it was near us. The place was pretty crowded with people eating sandwiches and such but my friend and I were only interested in their macarons. They had more flavors that I expected and were pretty unusual. Pomegranate, Blueberry, Tiramisu, Strawberry and the list goes on. I was pretty excited about the new flavors. In the end, I chose to get 2 macarons (strawberry and pomegranate) because they were $2 each and MUCH smaller than what I was used to. I mean these guys are TINY. Anyways, as far as the flavors go, they were delicious. Perfectly chewy with the right amount of ganache and delicious. Why must they be so expensive and so small? Makes me sad. 4/5 read more
Needed my macarons fix and I'm glad that yelp found the way... These guys had a decent size and variety of macarons on my visit. They had seven different flavors so I had to get one of each. They're $1.50 per macaron which is pretty consistent with what I am used to. If you buy 10, you get two additional free, but I didn't feel like getting too much; just seven for my visit today. It would be nice if they had more flavors but I was satisfied with the pistachio, salted caramel, blueberry, key lime, lemon raspberry, spiced pumpkin and vietnamese coffee that I ordered today. I have to give these guys bonus points for making some spicy pumpkin. That's the first I've seen this type of macaron and it was done surprisingly well. The macarons were creamy in the middle and nice and chewy on the outside. My palette wanted more and they tasted great coming right out of the fridge too. Too bad I don't live in LB, as this place would have been a regular stop over for me as they also serve other pastries, sandwiches and beverages too. They have plenty of metered street parking or some nearby lot parking for around $5. read more

Where do I even begin? This is one of my favorite spots in Long Beach. I am a frequent customer, because I often drop in on my way to work or school. Let me share with you a few reasons why DoLy's is AMAZING! First, and most important, the food is awesome. DoLy's is famous for their macaroons (with good reason), but the rest of their baked goods are excellent as well! My favorites are the butter croissant and the chocolate chip muffin - it's always difficult for me to choose which one I want! Also, DoLy's has great coffee drinks that go great with any breakfast. Next, the store itself is adorable, with a Parisian vibe to compliment the array of French desserts. As a college student, I love coming here with my laptop to study, so I can have coffee and a snack while I work. Also, DoLy's is a great place to stop on your way to work if you just want to pick something up fast while you are on your way. Lastly, the owners and workers at this cafe are kind and friendly. They will always greet you with a smile, and have a lot of patience when you cannot decide which delicious treat you want to buy. Do yourself a favor and and give it a try! read more

Some friends and I stopped here on our way to the aquarium for a cheap breakfast on a Sunday morning, and surprisingly, this cute little place was empty except for a couple sipping coffees in the corner. Alright, let's see if I remember exactly everything we got: - A breakfast sandwich with some very tasty ham, egg, and Swiss cheese - A breakfast burrito - Omelet on a croissant (they gladly did the substitution for us!) - Almond cream cheese croissant - Strawberry cream cheese croissant/pastry thing but I'm pretty sure it was a croissant - Two hashbrowns The wonderful ladies behind the counter were happy to recommend to us their favorite pastries, and I love hearing owners'/workers' recommendations, especially at small places like this. After ordering, they started making everything and even brought it out to our table, which I thought was a nice touch. Considering that we're a bunch of broke college students, the prices were fantastic, especially for the quality of the food we got. Food is definitely Instagram-worthy, for those of you (*cough* like me) obsessed with taking quality photos of your food "Hold up! I forgot to Instagram my sandwich and I already took a bite out of it! How can I flip it..." It was a miracle that they didn't get up from the table and leave me while I was fussing over artfully arranging my bagel. read more
