At first I wasn't too sure about a dolphin tour that leaves from River Street--I just knew we would need to drive to Tybee to see dolphins, but I was wrong! We saw lots of dolphins--my seven year old counted 107!--so you DEFINITELY can take this tour from River Street and not have to drive out to the ocean.

Dolphin Magic Tours earns my 600th review for lots of reasons the main reason being the last in this review the first reason is they delivered on what they promised you will see lots and lots of dolphins. The second is the people running this boat from the first mate to the captain are super friendly and they know just about everything you'd ever want to know about these mammals or the abundant wildlife in the area. The boat ride starts off of East River Street in Savannah and meanders down to the ocean near Tybee Island it's quite the trip. Bring your own sunscreen and bottle water although they do have water for sell at $1.00 per bottle. The secret to finding dolphins in these waters is the shrimp boats dragging their trawls endlessly through the fish filled waters. The dolphins are looking for a free meal and this is just the ticket. As a bonus you will get a unique view of the island's Lighthouse this spectacular view is only possible from offshore. The last final reason why they earned my 600th review and the five star rating is I had the most awesome opportunity to spend the entire day with my 13 year daughter who had traveled to Savannah from Ohio for vacation and she picked this tour and was so excited to do this Dolphin Magic Tour and they didn't disappoint. She invited me to join her so with out hesitation I drove a few hours from NSB to do this with her she thought it was unbelievable and I owe the giant smile on her face to the Captain and First Mate for making this such an enjoyable experience. Yes I recommend you experience this and don't forget to tip their efforts.

I recently went to Savannah with my Girl Scout Troop, and the Dolphin Magic Tour was by far my favorite activity! Our captain and crew were fabulous, and made the sailing experience education and extremely fun. In addition, we saw tons and tons of dolphins. This experience was extremely educational, as we learned about the history of Savannah, South Carolina, and many historic cities. I highly recommend this as an addition to any trip in the Savannah area!

We visited Savannah over the 4th of July weekend and stumbled upon Dolphin Magic Tours. Wanted to take the whole family for a fun evening. Our tour was wonderful from start to finish. We saw dozens of dolphin in their natural habitat swimming and jumping. Our first mate Morgan made our trip! The kids thought she was hysterical with her jokes and she kept us informed answering any questions we had. Best Dolphin tour ever!!!

Took the dolphin tour last week while in Savannah. Had a great time. Saw lots of dolphins, enjoyed the weather.

I really enjoyed the tour. We were running behind because my dad is an elderly and they waited for us. Our captain and crew were funny and laid back. They made the trip not boring. I was skeptical whether or not we will see dolphins but we did! We saw 4 dolphins!!! So happy! They made the trip interesting with history of Savannah. Only downside is, it's a bit noisy at the boat.

I had a blast on my boat trip. We did not see dolphins but that was ok! The weather was beautiful and the Captain and Mate were hilarious. They kept us entertained even without the elusive fishy talent. I'll definitely go again! Definitely worth the pr

This was by far the highlight of our vacation. The mate was great and the view amazing!

This was a great tour! So much more then just a boat ride to see dolphins, which we did see! The guys doing the tour gave us a great history lesson about the area and the port of Savannah, along with suggestions of things to go see in the city. We ended up having to go out to the Tybee Island area before we saw the dolphins but the guides knew that before we set out- meaning they scope it out for you before they get started which I think is great! We saw some shrimp boats and a couple of giant barges on the way out so the boat ride was still fun and totally worth it! They are really passionate about what they do, and that resulted in a fabulous tour. Tip*** bring cash for a tip! We didn't have any on us and I felt terrible because they definitely deserved it!! You won't regret taking this tour! Thank you Dolphin Magic!

The dolphins are in there somewhere

Lovely dolphin tour. It was about two hours and we were able to see female dolphins jumping out of the water. I saw several baby ones that were absolutely adorable. Wear sunblock as the rays of sun in savannah are quite strong!!! I did get sunburn but it was worth it as my seat in front of the boat was pretty sweet. I was able to get some of them jumping on video not so much in pictures though. I def recommend everyone at least to try this tour it's great!!!!

If you want to take a tour of the Savannah River, see plenty of dolphins and learn some history about Savannah, then this is a great tour. The tour lasts about 2 hours and the crew (boat captain and first mate) are very knowledgeable and friendly. You have lots of opportunities to see plenty of dolphins AND we even saw an alligator in the river (very rare)!! The cost is reasonable. The ship is a small yacht and has only one bathroom, so be prepared. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone and take it again.

We chose to do the full loop first so we could hear Jared's complete narration before hopping off to explore. It was the perfect decision! He shared fascinating details about Savannah's rich history, along with some lesser-known fun facts that really brought the city to life. The tour sparked our excitement to visit spots we might have overlooked otherwise. The hop-on hop-off format worked brilliantly for us. Buses arrived quickly at each stop--we rarely waited long--and the stops are conveniently located near all the main tourist attractions. It got a bit crowded toward the end of the day (around 5 p.m.), and we occasionally had to wait for the next bus, but overall, it was seamless and stress-free. One small suggestion: I wish the tours ran a little later than 5 p.m. It would be ideal for avoiding parking hassles and enjoying dinner downtown--there are so many delicious restaurants to try! We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an easy, informative, and enjoyable way to see Savannah. Thanks to Jared for making it memorable!

At the last minute, we scheduled Sistah Patt's Tour, and honestly this is by far the BEST ONE, and we did several here and in Charleston, while visiting from California. I wish I had done a little research on her, as I did after leaving her tour...oh my, I probably would have asked so many more questions, I had no idea of the advocate she is. With that being said, upon researching the area, Dan's tour came up as almost unanimously the best thing to do in Savannah. To say we learnt a lot and had a great time would be an understatement, Dan gave us a broad overview of many elements of Savannah's rich and diverse history. We were visiting from Florida, so we knew it would be hot, but as it was a very shaded route with plenty of stops it was not an issue. As Dan advices on the website, pack water, and sunscreen. The walk itself is very dog friendly and at a leisurely pace suited to all levels of fitness. Finding dog friendly activities is always high on our list, and plus the wealth of knowledge and passion Dan has it was a no brainer! Due to the heat, some other guests had to reschedule their time, so we were lucky enough to have a private tour, which probably would be worth an additional star on its own! Dan as a host was witty, engaging and brought Savannah to life. We have already recommended Savannah Dan to multiple people and will continue to moving forward.
