What a wonderful experience form start to finish! My mother-in-law's bedroom badly needed new carpet, as the old carpet had buckles which created a trip hazard. So, my wife went to see Rick at Dolphin Carpet and Tile. He showed her samples and talked budget. Then on a late Sunday afternoon he came to our house to do the measurements. He also had a very kind and informative talk with my mother-in-law, who had concerns about costs and the process. He put her mind at ease. I was looking for engineered hardwood, and tried all the usual big box spots, as well as a couple local stores. I couldn't find what I wanted within my budget-- the big box stores are phasing out engineered hardwoods, Floor and Decor doesn't do high quality ones, and the local stores I tried were way too expensive. Thankfully a Lowe's employee told me to check out Dolphin Carpet and Tile. Rick has been wonderful throughout the entire process. Salespeople like him don't seem to exist anymore-- he let me browse, made himself available for questions, and generally made me feel like I was the most important customer ever. I really appreciated that the store was labeled (including pricing) and easy to navigate. This made it easy for me to browse, rather than having to run to staff to check prices every time I was interested in a product. I ended up with a beautiful product from CALI, that no other stores had carried, at a reasonable price. Rick was amazing!!! We purchased tile from him previously, for around my pool and the front walkway. We were extremely pleased with his service and the product that we decided to tile around the outside walkway around the house since the tile was on sale and very reasonable. He was so very helpful and took the time to ensure that we were getting the correct tile again. We recently decided to get new carpet for inside the house. I was looking for a good carpet that could withstand a lot of foot traffic. He took the time to listen to what I wanted and then showed me a couple of options. He was very patient and took the time to explain the differences of the carpet options. I was called by the installer the morning of the installation to let me know what time they will arrive. The installer arrived on time and was very professional. They were very careful when moving my furniture when they took out my old carpets. The two gentlemen were very detail oriented. They noticed some of my tacking strips that needed to be replaced and some that were missing. After removing the carpet and padding, that was very, very old, they scrapped up the old padding that stuck to the cement floor and swept the floor completely before installing the new padding and carpet. First I want to say big thanks to our sales consultant Ron Hafler. He was helping us from the very beginning. We walked into their showroom in Daive without knowing anything about hardwood flooring. All we knew at the time is we need to replace our old carpet in our house and we don't want tiles. He showed us many different hardwood flooring options based on listening to our preferences and finally helped us narrow down our final sections. He personally came to our house and gave us suggestions and an estimate by walking through our house. Not only that, but he also worked with us on the numbers and helped us with a price that was under our budget. We got a price we think was very reasonable and was looking forward to the day of the installation. On the day of the installation, the installer arrived on time and was totally friendly and professional. They took out our old carpets and removed our kitchen tiles very quickly. I was told it was going to be a one day job and they totally delivered. Throughout the installation, I noticed that the 3 man crew worked very hard and pay a lot of attention to the small details. I came in on a weekend in desperate need to match a tile for a project I was picking back up post-pandemic that (to my fear) was now discontinued. Annette went out of her way to help us track down a similar looking tile in another location so we could finish our project. For the first time ever, I stepped into a Dolphin Carpet and Tile showroom because of the ad on TV. Rick, the sales manager in the Davie, FL store, was ready to help immediately. It didn't take long to find a beautiful Brazilian porcelain large rectangle tile in a spectacular stone/tumbled marble look. Rick was very helpful with every question I had and even worked around my time schedule to make sure the tile was installed as soon as possible. Not only was the tile installed the following week, it was installed professionally, with baseboard that I had purchased there, in one and a half days!! The installers were polite, courteous, and professional. I also picked out my own grout color, which they then purchased. Buyer Beware: Salespeople will tell you anything just to get the sale. Example 1: In August we purchased a laminate flooring for the upstairs floor that was marketed by the salesperson as "Kid Proof, Pet Proof, Waterproof". 3 months later we noticed a buckling on the edges of ONE of the pieces. Obviously no major intrusion took place with one of the pieces damaged. However, when we contact the company to replace it, the company refuses stating that it is water damage and they don't cover that. What happened to "Kid Proof, Pet Proof and Water Proof?!" A lie to get the sale! Example 2: A few years back we purchased tile flooring for the downstairs living area. We shared with the salesperson that we wanted a tile with little to no grout lines visible. He showed us some samples and we chose one of the options that was esthetically appealing that would have minimal grout spacing. Sure enough, upon installation, standard grout spaces like any other type of old school tile. Another lie to get the sale! If you're looking for honesty and company that stands behind their word; please go elsewhere. read more

To save those who don't like to take the time to read specifics about specific experience with the service and dependability of vendors, Dolphin Carpet & Tile and more specifically their store manager Rick Strandskov are the only people you want to work with when installing your carpet (flooring). They are service from another era. They are a dependable giant in their industry who still serve their community as if they were a small mom and pop shop. Here is my specific example of how they served my wife and I on a simple baby's room carpet installation. I start there so that you understand this was not a huge job with a ton of commission on the line. My wife and I came in as stores were finally re-opening from COVID-19. We were way behind on our baby preparation and needed to get our guest room turned into a baby room as quick as possible. Rick Strandskov was a humongous help in finding the perfect carpet for our exact situation. Our carpet we settled on was good for our pets and soon-to-be baby, contained no chemicals or glue, and was super soft. We provided the measurements of the room, signed the contract and were out the door in under an hour. After we ordered the carpet, it arrived sooner than expected. Rick was determined to get the job in as soon as possible. He remembered our situation was that we wanted the carpet installed ASAP so we could start on all the other aspects that come with decorating a baby room. That may seem like a minor aspect of the service, but how many carpets and other jobs does this man see in a little over a week. Yet, he remembered and was calling us for installation dates and our availability. On the morning of the installation I did not believe I would be making such a positive write-up. The room that I measured previously to be 14x8 apparently turned out to be 14x11. I could not believe I missed the measurement by so much. I had signed off on the size of the room and that the carpet would be ordered as a standard 12x15 leaving more than enough carpet for our closet. The installation team stated that the covering of the closet would not be possible because of my miscalculation, and I would have to order three more feet of the carpet just for a small closet. So, let me stop here, I thought I was screwed. I did not think this was going to be negotiable. I messed up with the measurements, and I was going to have to eat the cost of an entire second job for a small closet. It was in the contract my name was signed to already. Here is why I'm taking the time to write this review. I wasn't. By the time, I'd resolved that I had made a huge error, I received a text from, the man, Rick Strandskov, "I'm down stairs." He left the store to come to my little job because I, a customer who made a mistake, wasn't happy. He told me he had seven jobs running at the time. He didn't need to be at my small little problem, but there he was in my elevator walking into my tiny apartment. He made me feel like my problem was as important if not more than any job he had happening that day. He came in and asked the installation crew if he could measure. He talked to the crew manager, encouraged them to do the best they could to get the job complete with the materials they had there, and HE EVEN TIPPED THE CREW!! He informed me that everything would be fine. He told me to be in touch if anything else happens. Like a superhero, he took out all the problems and left my wife and I at ease. By early afternoon, the job was completed beautifully, and I was so happy that I too tipped the crew. The installation manager, Liz, was a major help as well in formulating all the parts of the installation. The whole team was amazing at taking an unhappy customer and making them a customer for life. Like I said at the start of my review, they are an industry giant. They could have stuck to the measurements I provided and royally squeezed all of the money they wanted out of me based on the contract I signed. However, like a friend doing a favor for me, they did what they could to do the best they could with what they had on the job. They treated me as if I was a millionaire installing granite tile across my mansion. They are the only people I will trust when I have a major job and hopefully the mansion to boot. Rick came out and did professional measurements because there is a step in the room for rear seating, a cut out for an access power panel and side step. A mis-measurement could have costed me hundreds of extra dollars or more if the carpet was cut to short. The job was put in perfect and we are very happy. My wife and I recently purchased a home and the three upstairs bedrooms had worn out carpets from 15 years of previous ownership. We stopped by Dolphin one Saturday morning with our boisterous 2 year-old and shopping cart full of stuff from Home Depot. Annette graciously met us and showed us all the laminate options. Having trouble deciding on a floor, our 2 year old went crazy and made the decision process all the faster. At installation day, a crew of 3 came and had all the carpet gone/hauled away and the new floors installed in the same morning. A near perfect job, but we quickly say that the T molding installed on our master bedroom laminate where it met the hall carpet was not sitting right, clicking and not sitting level. Twice more an installer was sent at our request and they couldn't get it right. Finally at wit's end we called again and Annette had 5 installers sent plus the installation manager who told them all in Spanish that a reducer was needed, and not to rush with a T molding. Since that reducer was installed everything has been perfect, no clicking, no lifting- just an incredible job. I came in to this location to pick out new laminate wood flooring for my place. We selected a color, and worked with a nice man at the store. Installation day was where everything went wrong. A group of 5 installers came to our home to work the job. Everything looked great as far as the flooring install... and then i realized my bed's headboard had a HUGE hole in it. I immediately asked the guy, who told me "oh, we didn't take pictures like we usually do before we move the furniture, so i'm not sure if it was there before". I think i would notice a hole the size of a baseball in my headboard. We called the store, who told us the company would be in touch with us regarding this issue. It has been over two weeks, and we still have NO solution to this issue. My advice would be to work with a different company. A company that cares about fixing its mistakes and stands behind their actions. This is not that company. read more

Shoved a signed paper in my face saying seams are visible. Will not stand behind their work. They don't follow through or returning calls. Once they have your money, they are done with you! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Ron (salesman) and Paul (regional manager) are the absolute worst to deal with. Avoid Dolphin Carpet at all cost. A HUGE MISTAKE. When they came to look at floor they said that someone would come and fix it. Took 3 weeks for someone to come. He said floors need to be replaced. Had an appointment 2 times and they canceled.
