We had vinyl flooring installed throughout the second floor of our home and custom vinyl stair treads done by Sawgrass Floors, and unfortunately, the quality of the work has been deeply disappointing. The flooring in my daughter's room is buckling, and the custom stair treads are cracking due to improper installation. The stairs squeak terribly, and all the mitered corners of the stairs are loose and coming apart. I have been incredibly patient, waiting for over a year for Sawgrass Floors to address and repair these issues. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, they are no longer responding and appear unwilling to stand behind their work. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I regret choosing Sawgrass Floors for this project. I cannot recommend them based on the poor quality of the installation and their complete lack of accountability or customer service. read more

All the good reviews that you may see on this store were installed by me and my team, but after another $17k plus hit I quitted! I worked for John for over a decade and after 13 years I cant take no more! Im writtting this review to warn future customers that the money he used to pay for your floors is gone! What he does is this: he will take your deposit, tell you that it will take weeks to get the product, Use that money to pay other things, hope that a new customer will come and give another deposit to pay for your product, but when that didnt happen he would hold on to my money and use that to pay for the product, and when it was time to repay me, he would cut part of it and push to "next payment"! By doing that the snowball rolled to more than $30k and now that he doesnt have that "bank" along him, be careful! I thought he was an honest man, even going against what a lot o people say about him, but after what he did last time (holding $17k from a job done at the JCC Pembroke Pines.)saying he will have to repay for a job done in August that a glue failure resulted in replacement of 1200 feet, which he tried really hard to blame me (when we both know he changed the glue we being using for more than 7 years to a glue $20 / a bucket cheaper to "try it out"). I even knowing it was not my fault said...its ok, ill replace the floor, but pay me for what you own me from last job, well he didnt! It was just an excuse to hold my money which he spent it already! So again....be careful, im not there to help pay for your material anymore! read more

OWNER JOHN C. ARNETT MISJUDGED OUR FLOOR HEIGHT, WE NOW HAVE 1" GAPS EVERYWHERE. We have spent almost $30,000. We must now remove and replace our floors again. Please see pics and invoices I have included that show the tragic damage our home has suffered. We have 1" gaps under two single interior doors, two double interior doors and three sets of closet doors and all their casings. We had a 1" gap under our custom kitchen cabinets, but he charged us an extra $200 after install for a horrendous wood patch that still has the imprinted blue ink lumberyard stamps. We also have two single exterior doors and two double exterior doors that now have a very high threshold which has caused a trip hazard. We had to pay to have our TV lowered so it would fit into our entertainment center, our kitchen bar is too high, our custom drapes too short. In the pics of our invoices you will see that the original invoice was for 6" baseboards, AFTER the install John said we would need 7" baseboards, and he charged us an extra $420. When he came we showed him the short casings, he said he could replace those for $1,022 which we paid, but his fix was a single layer on the front of the doors leaving the inside with the clearly visible gaps as shown in my pics. When I text him his response was that we didn't want plywood sub floor, which is true, but if he knew the floor he was installing needed a sub floor to have the same height he should have offered us an alternative to wood to go along with the waterproof floors we purchased from him. All this was after a two month delay of the promised Oct 11 installation date after we bought an "in stock" item. So here we are in our retirement years out $25,000 to Sawgrass Floors, we endured a 2 week floor removal and install, paid a cleaning crew $1300 afterwards and we're now faced with having to remove the entire floor and replace it again. Please read the other Google review about Sawgrass Floors added by "Vasko family" 4 years ago that says "they clearly did not understand the varying heights of the floor". A picture is worth a thousand words, please take the time to look at the invoices and pictures I will add to my Google images. I have hired this company twice to do two areas of my home. The first time was about a year ago to replace the carpet in our master bedroom with hardwood. I knew what I wanted and called the manufacturer of the flooring (Cali Bamboo) to find out who they recommended for installation. That is how I found Sawgrass Floors. John came out, gave me a fair price and told me he would send his best team to do the job. In a day my master bedroom went from ok to WOW! I was so impressed with the job. The attention to detail is remarkable. They even managed to save the baseboards which were custom and not easy to replace. They also used 1/4 round moulding inside the closets where built-ins had been installed in on top of laminate flooring. The finished product was so impressive, whoever sees our floors wants to know what it is and who did it! When we were ready to replace the carpet with hardwood in 4 other rooms of our house, we knew exactly who to call. John returned, again with a fair price, and sent the same team, who - in just two days - turned the other part of our house from ok to WOW! The floors are absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is so rare and very much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend Sawgrass Floors for anyone looking for new flooring. I'd also like to add that it was important that the process and result be low in toxins. We chose an organic natural wood and John used a no-VOC type of glue. Poor finish/horrible customer service - the only reason I decided to use this company is because they said they could do the open steps. It was the worst decision. Come to find out, I was the guinea pig who agreed to pay the extra labor for the work. I should have closed the steps and rid myself of this horrendous experience. Do yourself a favor a take your money elsewhere. I've been calling incessantly trying to get them to come make repairs and finish the work. Sent the owner pictures of what needed to be done. Got the Workers scheduled after a two week wait, took day off of work and got a confirmation that morning that the workers would be there. Instead of the workers, the owner showed up to say he needed to see what needed to be done. When I called them to complain, the option offered was for me to take another day off of work for them to do the work. I refused, and now I can't get them to call me back. During My last phone call two days ago, I was plainly told the installers were busy. The owner will tell you anything you want to hear to get your business, and the only time the office employees will be timely about calling you is to collect payment. Once they have your business, you're out of luck. 7/6/2018 - UPDATE: the morning after posting this review, I miraculously received a call to schedule the work. Two weeks later, What do you know? Never heard from the office employees to confirm the work as the owner said would happen. After calling them to confirm the workers would show up tomorrow, I'm being told they can't show up when agreed. As for the reply from the owner...professionalism is a foreign concept. I was the guinea pig for the stairs, and as the only person who can vouch for the work, I say don't waste your money. My family is happy to give our review of John and Sawgrass Floors. The Sell: We shopped a few flooring companies with site visit quotes and decided on John for a few reasons. Not only was he very easy to communicate with during the initial quote process but he was attentive and listened to what we were looking for. He never pushed a product and his showroom provides a ton of options. We had done our research and knew the flooring we wanted and he provided us a competitive and fair quote on our entire house. My wife and I were still deciding on companies up until the birth of our child and John understood our time constraints and availability limitations so he worked with us via e-mail and phone to negotiate a final number. One last thing to mention about the sales portion of the review is that John provided a very professional website and social network site to give us the opportunity to preview his past work. This gave us a better understanding of what we were going to get from his guys. The Work: We started a whole house (2,500 sqft) re engineered wood job on our home. If I had one gripe about the work it would be the sub contractors that came to demo some tile. After showing up an hour and a half late, they completed the job very quickly but left a huge mess. I would have preferred a company that tried to keep a demo job as clean as possible but these guys did not seem to care and left the place a mess for Johns guys to have to clean up before being able to install. I wouldn't remove a star based on this but offer my opinion that you request a different sub contractor for this part. Now for the Sawgrass Floor crew. John and his guys are extremely friendly and easy to talk to during the install process. They showed up on time or early every day on the job and stayed until they reached their daily goal. They worked with us as we wanted to get in there at nights to paint and left us with walk space and open walls, leaving the baseboards for the end to make it easier on us. They did very good work on the corner work and closets which had some more difficult cuts to make. One part that I was surprised at the end to see was bringing the floor right up to our fireplace with a nice clean line and not having to use any quarter rounds. We had one room with a built in murphy bed and desk that needed the quarter rounds to complete and they found a perfect match to the color of the built in making it look like it was meant to be there. John was available the entire time during the work to coordinate any changes and showed up to the site to make sure everything we discussed got done. The crew was clean and courteous of the home they were working on during the entire job. At completion of the work they wanted to make sure we were happy and let us know that they'd be there for us if we found anything that needed them to come back. John provides a warranty on his guys work and should we find anything we know they'll be out here. John ended our job with a little thank you gift. He knows how to run his business providing a solid crew who our just as friendly and considerate as he his. He was always available to us even by cell and got back to us on a few weekend phone calls. I highly recommend looking his way if a flooring job comes into your remodel. This company deserves the five stars and providing another quality job to your home. read more

The years ago I had Sawgrass Floors install hardwood floors in my house. Everything was great. The floors are perfect and the price was right. Today proved to me that I chose the right company to do the job. I damaged the floor in one of the rooms. I called them thinking that my floors might be forever ruined. John (the owner) came right over to assess the damage and told me that they could replace the damaged planks. Bottom line, his men just left and the floors are perfect. Great job with 1 exception. If you deal with them make sure all colors of molding are specified. Allowed them to finish molding while we were not home and they installed part white and part Beige which is not what we ordered!!!!!!!!!!! John explained That he gave it at cost and that is the color Beige is what he orders. That was never explained to my wife who ordered it. It looks like hell and ruins the look of a $6000.00 job. For $6000.00 they should have painted the Beige white so it looks uniform. Did a outrageous job on floor,best I have seen Great installers moved everything and put back and left apt spotless. I have been calling for over 6 weeks and I am told each time that someone will call me back- which they do not. I went with this company because of the good reviews and they were the least expensive of the companies that I contacted. Based on the lack of follow-up and complete inability to return a call, I can in no way recommend them. Additionally, I have to pay $75 because I am out of warranty. I told the owner I wanted the best laminate flooring they sell. He sold me and installed Parkay flooring through out my house. In less than a year the floor is bubbling up in spots and shrinking at the ends and sides. Also the finish is coming off of it and it is turning white. I had and engineer come and inspect it and the report said that there was a problem with the material and also the installation of it was bad. I don't make my choices quickly and John was more than helpful helping find exactly the tile I wanted. Installation was set up quickly. Installation was done by an in house crew (no subs used). Having made a preliminary decision on a flooring company based on mailer coupons, I happened to find Sawgrass Floors on a random Yelp search. The reviews were good enough to make me pick up the phone and call. When John (owner) personally answered and made schedule changes to accommodate my visit during the hectic holiday frenzy, I knew I found something special. After a few delivery snafu's (all from distributers) John made sure I got what I wanted; paid for the additional shipping to meet my strict schedule; and put his best men on the job with a start at 8:30AM on January 2! And those snafus... most of this happened without me even knowing as he didn't want me to fret. My floors were completed in the time promised and the quality is exceptional!
